"I followed all instructions for the Clenpiq preparation, it did not work and my colonoscopy was a failure. In other words, my bowels were not cleared out, and my doctor told me he could not proceed. Now I have to get another colonoscopy. My bowels did not clear until almost 12 hours after I took this preparation (second bottle). This drug is a failure, way too expensive, and should be immediately removed from the market. For my next colonoscopy, I will go back to 'over the counter'-much more reliable and cost-effective."

"Clenpiq definitely did the job, but I had an awful headache during cleansing. The side effects I had in the days following my procedure led me to a visit to my cardiologist, who told me that Clenpiq contains a high rate of sodium. I have hypertension and take meds that control it very well, but after taking Clenpiq, my BP rose dangerously high for 3 consecutive days following the procedure! My BP gradually returned to normal ranges by the 4th day because it takes 3 days for this med to clear your system! Don’t recommend anyone who has hypertension issues to take this as a prep! I will try Miralax prep next time!"

"My first colonoscopy. Easy-to-read bullet points: - Not nearly as bad as I expected it to be. - Taste is very sweet: not terrible. The two servings are easy to get through. - I have emetophobia (scared of vomiting), so I took a Dramamine 1 hour before each dose. I think this (+ staying hydrated) helped. - Didn’t bother leaving the toilet for 3 hours after both doses. The first bowel movements started about 1 hour after the 1st dose, sooner after the 2nd. Was up a few times through the night too. - Mild nausea after the first dose, it went away. Bad bloating after both doses, mostly went away after BMs started. Mild off-and-on headache. - Worst side effect by far is the booty pain. Two words: Liquid fire. Not even aloe wipes stood up to the raw pain, but they helped a little. - I put a step stool in front of the toilet to use as a Squatty Potty, and it helped a lot, highly recommend. 8/10: Overall easy process, about as pleasant as possible, but the taste isn’t great, and the few side effects weren’t fun."

"I followed all of the instructions for the prep to the tee, but it did not work for me. I drank the first bottle at 8:30 pm and did not have a bowel movement the entire night. I had more than the recommended amount of liquid after the prep. I drank the second bottle 5 hours before my procedure, and it worked, but I don't think well enough to have the procedure. I am going to cancel my colonoscopy because I am nowhere near being cleaned out. I dread having to go through this again."

"Did not work for me. After the first dose, violent cramping, wicked headache, nausea, vomiting, chills. Could not take the second dose and had to cancel the procedure due to incomplete cleansing of the bowel. All in all, a miserable day of clear liquid diet and attempted cleansing for nothing."

"F, 26, 150 lbs. Was given Prepopik because I had issues keeping down the normal prep. Was given three packets of Miralax and the Prepopik kit. I didn't have to start until 6 pm the day before the colonoscopy, so I was able to work the day before - first perk right off the bat. I took the Miralax packets, one each morning, the three days leading to my prep. My stool was already soft by the time prep day came, which helped. Got home from work at 5:30 and started. I was going to the bathroom 30 minutes to an hour after. No intense cramps or discomfort, just the urge to run to the bathroom lol. Woke up at 4:30 am to finish the second half. The doctor performed the colonoscopy later that day with no issues. Love this product, worked great for me!"

"I’ve had several colonoscopies in the past two years. Clenpiq was by far the easiest to take. As these preps go, the flavor was the easiest for me to drink. I really liked that I could drink the needed amount of clear liquids over a five-hour period. So when I need another colonoscopy at the end of this year, I will request Clenpiq, that is unless they come out with a pill!"

"My only issue is the taste. It's truly awful and started coming up as soon as it went down. Tasteless would be awesome. I'll try diluting my second dose as other reviewers did. The recommendation of drinking it slowly is not possible for me - I would never get it down."

"Clenpiq works, but the problem is the packaging. The first bottle was very difficult to open. The second was impossible. My daughter couldn't open it either-no one could. At 5 a.m., I had to find a hacksaw to cut it open and drip the contents into a glass. Others have commented online about the ridiculous bottle. It's insane that a company charges $170 for a product that literally cannot be opened at a stressful time."

"OMG, the best bowl prep ever! I have used every prep out there, and this is the best. I did not taste any flavor, although it was supposed to be cranberry. I get colonoscopies yearly and have to psych myself up to drink a gallon of disgusting prep. I drank the bottle straight, then drank 40 oz of water after. Then repeated for the second round. Drinking 8 oz of prep with no flavor is so much better than trying to drink down a gallon of nasty prep, which I usually throw up. Clenpiq stayed down, no gagging or throwing up. The only problem I had was a terrible headache, which lasted until after my procedure. Thank you, Clenpiq!"

"I had my 5th colonoscopy today, and I used Prepopik for the first time. In past preps, I had horrible experiences with the different drinks that I had tried. Several of them caused me to be very nauseous and even throw up, but this was fantastic. I followed the directions for taking it twice in one evening, and it worked perfectly. I was in the bathroom 45 minutes after the first drink and then went regularly from that point on. I was a little nervous that my output was not as clear as I would have liked, but by the time of the procedure at 8 AM, things were at a good point. The report I received from the doctor said that the prep was excellent and they could see everything clearly. I am so grateful to this company for developing a product that doesn't taste horrible and can be used in such a small amount."

"Paid $90 with insurance for Clenpiq. Tastes like chemicals, so foul, nasty, and vile. Managed to drink the bottle at 5 pm (took 30 min to get it down). Felt nauseous trying to drink it. Drank the recommended water after. Had to do the 2nd bottle at 10 pm with more water. Felt nauseous all night. You can only drink liquids, so you have to drink this horrible concoction on an empty stomach. I never want to go through a bowel prep again. Thank God the bottles are small. I would rather have enemas, just saying..."

"Waste of time and money. I have very regular bowels and had to take both bottles, and didn't work. Scrambled at midnight to find a laxative since I would be charged by Dr. if I was unable to have the procedure! Has very low reviews overall on most websites."

"Not thrilled. I started off with two days of a low-residue diet, then started the liquid diet (mainly watered-down bone broth, Gatorade, and Jello) 24 hours before my colonoscopy. I drank the first Clenpiq bottle at 5 pm as my doctor recommended. The first bottle tasted okay, not great but tolerable. I drank five cups of clear liquid after. No bloating or pain, just some liquidy BMs. Then I drank the second bottle at 9 pm plus four cups of liquid. From about 10 until 4 am, I was up every 30-60 minutes to go to the bathroom. At 4 am, my BMs still were fairly dark and my colon was not clear. I fell asleep until 6, then had to go to the store to buy two boxes of Fleet enemas and figure out how to use them. I wasn’t sure the first one did the trick, so I used the second one. After that, it was clear. My procedure that morning went well, and the doctor said if I hadn’t used the enemas, they would not have been able to do the colonoscopy. I hope there are better preps on the market!"

"I used Clenpiq for the first time. At first, I believed it cleaned me out. I drank one bottle at 5:00 PM, followed by 40 ounces of water over 4 hours. I repeated with a second bottle at 9:00 PM, followed by an additional 40 ounces of water until 1:00 AM. I was up until 4:00 AM having bowel movements. At 11:00 AM, I underwent my 4th colonoscopy. When I awoke, the nurse told me the doctor/surgeon was not happy with me because I did not prep properly. I did! He talked to me an hour later and said he couldn’t do a complete colonoscopy because of dark stool. I told him that this was a first for me and that I did everything as per the Clenpiq instructions and his. I drank more water than the instructions called for, which my doctor/surgeon advised me to. I am embarrassed and humiliated. I decided to do some homework and found out this can happen with any prep kit. I will never use Clenpiq again or go back to the doctor who performed the colonoscopy."

"Super easy prep. First dose in early AM made me a little queasy, but it passed. No cramping. Second dose, no problem. Taste was fine, and quantity was small enough to drink quickly. Hydrating is very important."

"Well, I shouldn't have read some of the reviews. I think it was the best prep. Wasn't bad at all. Took the first prep at 6 pm, and it started working an hour later, and I wasn't up all night. The second prep was at 5:30 am. Everything went fine, and I had my colonoscopy at 10:20 am. Don't be afraid to take this."

"This was not my first colonoscopy, but my first time using Clenpiq. I followed a low-fiber, low-residue diet 2 days before prep. On prep day, I had fluids only. My first dose (split dose) was at 5 pm. I used a straw to drink straight from the bottle. It was not that bad. (Suprep was much worse and a larger quantity to consume). Then, I had to drink 40 oz. of liquid over a period of 5 hours. Very easy for me to do; I was done in 2.5 hrs. I had no ill effects after taking the Clenpiq, no headache, no chills, no nausea (I had all of these with Suprep). Clenpiq began 'working' in about 30 minutes. I was in and out of the bathroom 4 to 5 times between 5:30 pm and 9 pm. Tips: do use A&D ointment and wet wipes. Also, if you have hemorrhoids, use Witch Hazel or Tucks. I was 'done' by 11:00. Slept till 2 am and had my second dose at 2:30 am (basically a repeat). No issues with my colonoscopy. Two small polyps were removed. You don't have to do this again for 5 years. Hope this review is helpful!"

"First dose Clenpiq: stomach pain and nauseous; visits to the bathroom were no more than 3. Second dose: after 15 minutes of the intake, felt nauseous and like in seconds and on my way to the bathroom, I vomited all of it. I don’t think I will be okay to have my colonoscopy and will never ever use this product again."

"Clenpiq is a cranberry-flavored liquid that you drink directly from the bottle. It is very sickeningly sweet and viscous, and I kept having to drink water in between as a chaser. Within an hour, I started pooping, which was fine. Then, after 4 hours, I started getting chills, then felt hot, then felt like I was going to pass out! Knowing that I would have to take another 5 oz dose at 11 PM didn't help. I stared at the bottle at 11:05 PM and took a few swallows of Clenpiq, then immediately started vomiting white foam. My husband kept encouraging me to finish the bottle so that I would be cleaned out. I tried a few more swallows and again started vomiting. There was no way that I would be able to drink that second bottle! In my case, I think that one bottle was sufficient for me because I had been going to the bathroom quite often, and Clenpiq was very potent for my system. I'm not sure that I will ever undergo another colonoscopy because the prepping process is a terrible experience!"

"I have had colonoscopies for 36 years now, spanning from every year to every 3-5 years. I was very upset to be told that I had to buy this product for my most recent prep. The total was $134.95, but there was an online coupon that I found where I got it for $40.00. I was used to a different prep that was under $8.00. Let me begin by saying that I'm a huge baby when it comes to this stuff. I hate drinking water/fluids. This prep was pretty good, the taste wasn't the greatest, but I sucked it through a straw and had my toothbrush waiting with lots of toothpaste to clean out my mouth! No cramping or nausea, the only bad thing about this prep is doing it twice, and it burns your butt real good! I used baby wipes and Vaseline between each episode to help ease the pain! Lol."

"This prep smells pleasant but is difficult to drink after the first swallow. It made me feel bloated and a little nauseated for 2-3 hours, and it took about 3 hours before it had some effect. The same thing happened with the second dose. On top of that, it made my rectum bleed. That was a first with a bowel prep. And lastly, it did a poor job of cleaning my bowels. This is my 5th time doing this, and this was the worst bowel prep! Give me a Miralax and Dulcolax combo any day! This stuff was no good!"

"It’s 12:18 AM, and I’m typing this as I sit on my bed in agony, waiting for the next mad dash to the bathroom. Let’s start with the taste.... imagine drinking salty, acidic, artificially sweetened sugar water. It’s DISGUSTING! The first bottle at 5 pm, I chugged like a champ along with 5 8oz glasses of water thereafter. Round two, however, and your girl is struggling. Halfway through bottle No. 2, and I got hit with a massive wave of nausea. I literally had to gag down the rest of the solution. Now I’m trying to get through 5 more 8oz glasses of water, and this much water on an empty stomach is making the nausea even worse. I’ve been going to the bathroom every 15 minutes or so since 5:30 pm. Now with bottle number 2, I imagine I’ll be up right until my colonoscopy in the morning. The good news is there is no abdominal cramping, but the taste and the nausea have left me with no desire to ever do this again."

"It did not work at all. I did everything exactly as prescribed, but nothing. This really makes me mad. Guess I’ll have to get some prep that works and do everything all over again. Gee, thanks, Clenpiq!! Lousy product!"

"This was my fourth colonoscopy and by far the most tolerable prep. The split-dose regimen, which involves drinking 8 oz. of Clenpiq early in the evening the day before the procedure, and another 8 oz. the next morning, means that an entire day doesn't have to be spent in close proximity to a toilet. The taste itself was surprisingly fine at first but then got progressively worse — for reasons I don’t understand — with each succeeding mouthful. Fortunately, though, it’s not much to drink, so it wasn’t a major problem. No comparison, certainly, to previous years when one had to down a whole gallon of absolutely awful-tasting stuff. Clenpiq’s list price is expensive, but a coupon the doctor gave me and whatever the pharmacist managed to do vis-à-vis insurance brought my cost down from $145.00 to $46.00 — worth every penny as far as I’m concerned. One caveat: when Clenpiq begins to work, you don’t want to dawdle getting to the bathroom :)"
