For Cancer "Have had minimal side effects with carboplatin. Have also retained my hair after 4 treatments 21 days apart. The day after treatment and then the next two days are generally: very tired and low energy. Day three and beyond are increasingly better."

Paraplatin (carboplatin) for Ovarian Cancer "Although I developed serious reactions to this medicine, it was the best medicine to use with Gemzar over my initial diagnosis and secondary recurrence. On my third recurrence (ten years later), I again had a reaction, but not until my CA-125 went below 1,000!"

For Ovarian Cancer "I have stage 4B ovarian cancer and they gave me carboplatin + Abraxane after an allergic reaction to Paclitaxel. I had most of the listed side effects but none of them were severe, including the neuropathy. I had one day after my infusion where I felt poorly but the rest of the time I was managing life. Fatigue was most common. My cancer 125 antigen went from 3,000 to 124 with this medicine and I am thankful my oncologist managed my care with carboplatin + Abraxane. I am not in remission but doing very well at this time."

For Cancer "My experience with this drug came through my mother, who had small cell lung cancer. She was diagnosed in January 2013. She underwent chemotherapy. She had complained to her doctor that she was experiencing fluttering and tightness in her chest during chemo treatments. On December 13, 2013, she had a severe allergic reaction to this medication. She passed away on December 26, 2013, at 12:05 AM. The doctor stated it was an experimental drug at best, and the results were unpredictable. So they used my mother as a guinea pig, is that it?"
