For Opioid Use Disorder "I was prescribed Zuboxone, but my insurance covered Zubsolv instead. From the first time, I felt tremors and told my Dr. He prescribed increasing the dosage, and it got worse. It felt like I was trembling from my core along with anxiety. I just was switched to buprenorphine alone and can't believe how much improved I am. I wouldn't recommend Zubsolv."

For Opioid Use Disorder "I have been suffering with opiate addiction my whole life, having been to 9 different rehabs in 9 years. Always relapsed. I have been sober since starting Zubsolv a year and a half ago. No cravings, no side effects. I hate that I have to take a pill every day (2x a day), but I have a life again. After reading these comments, it seems like the only people who hate Zubsolv are the ones that started off with Suboxone and switched to this. From my experience, Suboxone withdrawals are just as bad as or worse than heroin withdrawals, so I would guess that Suboxone is just stronger or has a different chemical makeup (that I personally wouldn't trust) and that Zubsolv doesn't exactly match up with."

For Opioid Use Disorder "I had been prescribed Suboxone for about 1 year. I heard about Zubsolv at my doctor's office and found out it was much cheaper than Suboxone. My doctor wrote me a prescription for Zubsolv (5.7). I stayed on Zubsolv for about 1 month. It tastes nasty but will dissolve in about 5 minutes. Zubsolv didn't even compare to Suboxone, it actually made me feel horrible."

For Opioid Use Disorder "I've been taking Suboxone for many years now. I continue it for maintaining my pain relief. What I would like to say is... Generic Suboxone is not the same. I've been having withdrawal symptoms, and my anxiety has soared through the roof. Here is a copy of what the generic Zubsolv had to say: 'There are some preferential differences between Suboxone and Zubsolv, such as taste and dosage forms. Zubsolv also has improved bioavailability, which allows the user to absorb the buprenorphine and put it to use more easily. As a result, there is a lower opioid content in a dose of Zubsolv than in a dose of Suboxone.' So, those who say 'it's the same' rubbish, it's not."

For Opioid Use Disorder "I was on Suboxone strips, which were working great for over a year. Then new insurance put me on Zubsolv, and the body aches started, constant yawning, then diarrhea. Feels like withdrawals all over again. It is miserable and it hurts me at work, always tired. Now I pay $650 for my Suboxone a month out of my pocket, because insurance covers only some rubbish placebo. Do not recommend, can put you back to square one."

For Opioid Use Disorder "Been on subs for one year and have done great. My insurance will no longer cover them, had to go to zubs. Within 3 hours, I was in full-blown withdrawal, had all the withdrawal symptoms: vomiting, diarrhea, shaking, anxiety, and suicidal ideation - it was a nightmare. Luckily, I have a great doctor, called in the sub strips, and within 20 minutes, I was back to normal. Please think twice before you take Zubsolv."

For Opioid Use Disorder "I am on day 3 of Zubsolv, and I'm still in precipitated withdrawal. I started on Sunday like the doctor told me to. I was on methadone for two years, my highest dose was 45 mg. After doing the prove testing and telling them I wanted to switch to Suboxone because I know it works for me and it helped me get clean before, the doctor agreed to switch me. However, my insurance doesn't cover Suboxone because Zubsolv won the bid for the insurance company. So, with three days of taking this and basically being in withdrawal for the majority of those three days, I can honestly say that I hate it. It wears off so fast, it's like I'm okay for a few hours, but about 4 hours after I take it, I'm in withdrawal. It's the worst withdrawal I've ever had."

For Opioid Use Disorder "I took Zubsolv 5.7 mg (2/day, #60 tabs per month), and this is nowhere near the same dose as the strips. I'm sorry, but I don't buy it. I never woke up in a sweat from Suboxone strips like I do when I take Zubsolv (I need to take another half in the evenings because they don't last as long), and it certainly is a sucky drug. I have state-funded health insurance (it doesn't cover many name brands) either and use their coupon, but it is still SO expensive! $211 after the coupon for one box, or $496 for both boxes. If you need 3 boxes, forget it! My Suboxone film is $12 cheaper per box with their own coupon. I gave Zubsolv more than a shot, I put up with it for several months!"

For Opioid Use Disorder "First, I would like to state that I've read the comments and reviews on Zubsolv in this thread, and I have to say that I think the positive reviews are BS. I think the pharmaceutical company paid people to write the reviews. Zubsolv is horrible! Three hours after taking my dose, I go into full-blown withdrawal. I'm in a long-term treatment center, and everyone who has switched from Suboxone to Zubsolv mirrors what I'm saying. No matter what is being said, the buprenorphine in Zubsolv is not the same as Suboxone. Zubsolv is great if you want to be in withdrawal all day. Thanks, but no thanks."

For Opioid Use Disorder "I have been on Zubs for about a year. I was on subs the year before that while living in Buffalo. When I moved to Rochester, I got switched to Zubs because the subs were not showing good numbers in my system, meaning it wasn't dissolving correctly and doing what it's supposed to. My insurance didn't cover Zubs, so my new doctor told them subs weren't working blah blah blah, and I ended up getting covered for them. I am constipated every day, and it's very hard to poo, so I have to drink Miralax every other day, which I ALWAYS FORGET TO DO. So that's my own fault. Overall, everything is fine, no drugs for 2 years now besides my Zubs. I make about $15 to $25 an hour depending on what position I'm working at my job. And I'm a trainer. Zubs saved my life. They work if you don't abuse them."

For Opioid Use Disorder "I was taken off of Suboxone and put on Zubsolv, and it was terrible. They tell you more of the medicine is absorbed, so the actual mg is lower than Suboxone or Subutex. I was okay during the day, but by the time bedtime rolled around, I felt the effects of the medicine wearing off. I even kept it in my mouth for 20 minutes. Still didn't last very long. I'm now taking Subutex and feel much better! Didn't work for me, may work for some!"

For Opioid Use Disorder "Due to my insurance not paying for Suboxone strips in January 2023, I was put on Zubsolv 5.7-1.4 mg tabs, and I will say for me it works just as well. It dissolves quicker, and the taste is way better (minty taste) than the Suboxone strips, which by the way taste horrible. I'm 5 years now clean from opiates, before that, I was abusing opiates for 20 years. I have no side effects from this, unlike when I did with Suboxone, which was upset stomach and headaches."

For Opioid Use Disorder "Pros: Excellent step down from long-acting opioids. If you have been using and you switch to this, you will not experience any unpleasant withdrawal symptoms, but it is the lesser of two evils. Do not fool yourself. This is still a narcotic, and it is powerful. Cons: Difficulty urinating, constipation, and sweating. I have recently begun tapering down and have experienced some negative side effects. It takes time for your body to adjust to the step down, and you will feel at times like you will faint. In short, it is excellent for getting off stronger opioids, but it is still addictive. If you try to come off junk cold turkey, it will be a horrible experience. Zubsolv is supposedly a state-of-the-art medication. It is very expensive, which if not covered by insurance, will cost a lot of money. It has served its purpose as I have been able to work two jobs, six days a week."

For Opioid Use Disorder "Ok, my wife has been on this Zubsolv for over a week now. At first, it seemed to help her. Yesterday, she woke up with a rash on her lower arms. She has gotten really depressed, her anxiety has gone through the roof, she snaps back at the slightest things. It is not helping with her cravings, it seems the longer she takes it, the further my wife becomes a different person from when she was doing pain pills. I'm starting to think it was better she stayed on the pain pills. Has anyone else heard of anything like this before? I'm at a loss for words, and I don't know what I need to do or what to do at this point other than start cutting her dosages down and wean her off this garbage......"

For Opioid Use Disorder "I've been on subs off and on for years. My insurance recently made me switch to Zubsolv, and it SUCKS!! I feel like I'm in withdrawal most of the day. It has some good effects, it dissolves quicker and I'm not as constipated, but as far as being better than subs, no way. I feel like I'm constantly craving one all day almost, and if you don't take it at the same time every day, you're sick as hell until you do...."

For Opioid Use Disorder "I was addicted to buying pain pills from the streets for 8 years, after the doctor initially prescribed them for me for 2 years and then cut me off cold turkey. Total of 10 years. In October 2019, I was finally able to break free. It took me 3 weeks to get to see a certified doctor to prescribe me Suboxone, which for 3 weeks I was buying off the street also. 1 strip a day of Suboxone for 3 weeks and I was doing great. Finally, I got in to see the doctor and told her my story. She decided to put me on Zubsolv instead, even though I told her I was feeling good with one strip a day. Started out at 5.7 mg Zubsolv for a week. Now I’m not feeling as good as I was the previous 3 weeks, so I explained to the doctor the following week my symptoms. I got bumped up to 8.6 mg a day Zubsolv. Better, but still not masking my symptoms for 24 hours. Now I went back to the doctor a third time in 3 weeks, got me back down to 5.7 mg 1 and a half times a day. Arghh!!!"

For Opioid Use Disorder "I feel like Zubsolv puts you into withdrawal too fast, and that's after splitting mine up to 4x a day, even. Suboxone never did this, I could go hours past my typical dosing time and not even realize the time had passed. It does taste better, but personally, I feel it is less effective. I miss Suboxone, I feel like the Zubsolv is making me irritable, and I bet it's because I'm withdrawing, even though they claim this is the same dose as far as what's absorbed. If that's true, then I wouldn't feel this way. I have to stay on it though, because with the copay card you can Google and print off, it is costing me $0, which is so much better than $186 a month!"

For Opioid Use Disorder "I started on Sub 1 1/2 years ago. My addiction blew up after a cancer diagnosis. Sub caused mouth sores. I should have never, ever started on these medications! Once an addict, always an addict! The weaning process is pure hell! I feel like this must be what heroin addicts go through in jail. I hate myself for agreeing to this. Don't do it! It's so hard to get off. You think Vicodin is hard? Just wait. I was happy too when I first started. Soon the addict in you will take a couple more in a day. You can't be on it forever. The pain from weaning is no joke! You will abuse this and come up short, I promise you!"

For Opioid Use Disorder "I was taking Suboxone for about 6 months, dealing with the horrid taste and precipitated withdrawal. I truly didn't like it, but then I heard of Zubsolv tasting better and dissolving quicker. And it truly works. I'm a heroin addict/fentanyl, but Zubsolv truly saved my life! I highly recommend it. Only minor constipation with it, but manageable."

"I switched from 2 mg films (tried cutting 8 mg into 1/4s). I'm highly allergic to aspartame, and it took us months to figure out why I was having ulcers/swelling. Now I take Zubsolv 1.4 twice a day for pain. The only bad thing about this drug is that I get 'wired.' But if I take it at the same time each day, not only is my pain rated about a 2, I also avoid the headache and wired feeling. I do wish I could cut it in 1/4ths sometimes because I think I could take even less than I take and be fine. Oh, well. It's still an awesome alternative to pills!"

For Opioid Use Disorder "Am experiencing considerable difficulty getting Zubsolv to dissolve under my tongue. After 15 minutes, there is still a considerable amount under my tongue, and I’m struggling to keep it from moving around my mouth and not on top of my tongue, back of tongue, or attaching to the cheek of my mouth. Have used several other under-tongue dissolving medications (not opioid-related) and never experienced any difficulties with any other under-tongue dissolving medication."

"I took Suboxone for about 5 years. Then my insurance changed, and I was switched to Zubsolv. I ended up on it in a strange way for pain and PTSD symptoms. During the time I changed brands, I was starting to feel weak, usually emotional, low energy, which is not the type of guy I normally was. I assumed it was the Zubsolv. I continued to struggle on it for years. Then I got a new GP when I moved, and she looked at my meds and my complaints and ordered a testosterone test. It came back indicating I had the levels of an 80-year-old man, and I was 30. Getting off Zubsolv was pretty rough. Going through opioid withdrawal is hard enough, but feeling so weak and emotional on top of it. It took me quitting my job and focusing completely on rebuilding myself mentally and physically for a year. Still, my quality of life during that time was so much better."

For Opioid Use Disorder "I have been taking Zubsolv for a while now! I will not take Suboxone, the film and the tabs make me sick. This is a minty pill that actually tastes good. And my insurance covers it 100%. Without it, I have no energy. I don’t so much have cravings anymore. This is my second time on this. It’s been 6 months since I’ve had some. I tapered down. Well, my doc put me on the 5, whatever milligram, twice a day, mainly for pain management, for some reason, it helps. I’ve only taken 2 pills, one last night and 1 this morning. I’m so dizzy. I’ve never felt this way with this. I also take Adderall and Wellbutrin. I know it’s not the Adderall because I’ve been on that combo before for years. The pharmacist said it doesn’t have an interaction with Wellbutrin. What could it be? I feel like I’m gonna pass out."

For Opioid Use Disorder "I've been prescribed Suboxone in the past, and it always worked. Although I wasn't too happy when I started to feel physically reliant (and because I was not forewarned by anyone). My new doctor wrote me a script for Zubsolv. My sub dosage was 16 mg daily (2 8 mg strips). The first day on Zubs was horrible, I was in full withdrawal with no effect. I even took double what was prescribed because I thought it might be that, and it was low to begin with (just 2 5.7 mg tabs per day), and with no prevail. I suffered for 3 straight days, it did not work at all. Finally, on day 3, I felt some relief, but I'm sure it's just because I was through the worst of my detox. I would not recommend this to anyone for the sole reason it's not worth the risk. It could make you relapse."

"I was on Suboxone for pain for 13 years until my insurance would not pay for it any longer. They switched me to Zubsolv, which tastes a lot better. I have now been on this drug for 2 years and want off of it because it does nothing for my pain. I am on Medicare, and they only covered $60.00 of the cost, and the price of my script was $400.00, which I cannot afford. I broke my neck while in the service, and the pain is constant. I have been taking 1 dose daily, 2.5 mg, trying to wean myself off of the drug, and so far today I have not had any withdrawal symptoms as of yet, but it takes about 36 hours for it to really kick in, so I am waiting to see if I have any problems. This drug is great for short-term use to get off opioids, but if you take it for pain management, you will find yourself just as addicted to this as the drug you were trying to get off of. I hate this drug, and it has become the bane of my life. I only hope that I can handle the withdrawal."
