"I was given Thalidomide and Dex when my MM was first diagnosed in 2005. After nine months, Velcade was administered before I had a stem cell transplant in 2006. My number was 286, and within one month on Velcade with Dex, it dropped to 5. I was in remission for a year and a half after the transplant, and now I am looking for help. My doctor tried the new Revlimid and Dex, which gave me all the same side effects that Thalidomide and Dex had earlier, such as neuropathy, mouth sores, dizziness, etc."

"My Dr started me on Velcade the day I was diagnosed. I had multiple myeloma in 94% of my body when diagnosed. Very minimal side effects. My face gets flushed and hot for a few days after treatment and I’m a little more tired than normal. With all that being said, I thank the Lord and my Doctor for this treatment."

"Taking Velcade is easier than Revlimid. I broke out with hives and had red skin all over. Told the doctor and she said, 'Well, you're doing good.' I finally went wearing a dress with nothing under it and showed her what I was talking about. She took me off Revlimid that day. Velcade does not itch or burn my skin. I have gained weight and am sleepy all the time."

"I did 6/3-week cycles of Velcade injection once per week. Over 18 weeks, it completely knocked the cancer back and put me back into remission. Then my problems started. Now, 7 weeks in remission, and I feel worse than ever. Fatigue is terrible, no strength in my legs, lack of balance, having to use a walking stick. The upper part of my body is okay, blood pressure is normal, body temperature is normal. I feel weaker than at any time while on chemo."

"I received Velcade for multiple myeloma for four and a half months. I was scheduled for another four months but reached a level of remission that did not require any more chemo. Pleased with the results. I add that I made major adjustments to my diet per recommendations of natural cancer care books and articles. The treatments worked well together."
