For Chronic Migraine "I see so many comments about this not working. Here’s my take as someone with chronic daily complex migraines with aura (who’s tried most other medications). 1. Try it for 1 month straight at 60mg. Take it at the same time of day. 2. Severe nausea at first (2 weeks). It will lessen. 3. Bad constipation. You need to drink at least 1L of liquids per day, take 100mg of a stool softener and eat fiber. If you don’t, bowel movements will be hard to pass. 4. It will begin to reduce your migraines slowly after week 3. I still get them daily, but both the aura and pain are less."

For Chronic Migraine "Qulipta has been a miracle drug for me and has changed my life in countless ways. I am a lifetime sufferer of chronic migraine (40+ years). Within the past few years, the episodes became so chronic I was in pain and sick almost every day. I thought I was going to be permanently disabled. I tried everything: all the off-label medications, NSAIDs, sumatriptan, acupuncture, massage, vitamins, various diets, etc. With my first dose of Qulipta, the migraine in progress went away. Within a month, the frequency reduced to 3-4 a month. Now I get a migraine episode every 6 weeks or so, and it is very easy to treat and eliminate. I have never had episodes this infrequently in my entire life. I have been on 60 mg daily for about 10 months. The only side effect I notice is slight constipation at times. If you are considering this drug, DO IT!"

For Migraine Prevention "I've been on Qulipta for about 2 months. I've only had severe migraines since I was shot in the head twice almost 5 years ago. (Yes, for real.) I was a paramedic, and it was my co-worker EMT who shot me. Anyway, I've tried everything else there is (that insurance would pay for). Nothing has helped. I feel like nobody gets that this is a different type of headache than a migraine. I've had migraines before, and this is worse. It seemed at first that it was helping some, but the headaches are slowly getting their normal worse again. Then a good friend of mine kindly told me today that I've been struggling with anger more than usual (a common problem with traumatic brain injuries). I've thought about it, and the only thing that's new or changed is the Qulipta. I don't know. It's all so discouraging."

For Chronic Migraine "I am on the Botox and Aimovig injections (for a few years) with Qulipta recently started. The Botox and Aimovig lessened daily migraines, but I started having hemiplegic migraines, which mimic stroke symptoms. The Qulipta seemed like a wonder drug for the first few months, minus the constipation, which is a good thing for me. However, within the last two months, I have started having right shoulder and collarbone pain, excruciating stomach pain, and back pain. The pain even went down my right leg in the nerves and the muscles. Back pain is worse than before I had back surgery years ago for a broken back. The doctor couldn’t find anything wrong with any of these problems. So after reading most of these reviews, I’m beginning to wonder if this is a symptom of this Qulipta? I do have the agitation/anger, ringing in the ears, and exhaustion as well. Disappointed."

For Migraine Prevention "Started 60 mg of Qulipta for chronic migraines post-COVID. Day 7, I can hardly function. Severe fatigue and anxiety and nausea. I can't tell any difference yet on the effectiveness of preventing migraines. I will try to not give up yet, but my blood pressure is also elevated."

For Migraine Prevention "I have been on Qulipta for 17 days so far, and I haven't had a migraine yet! I suffer from chronic migraines - I get about 14-20 migraines a month. I have tried many different preventative drugs, and I have never been able to tolerate the side effects. So far, I have mild constipation, itching, mild hives, and my feet and hands are swollen. I can probably handle these, but it seems as if the fatigue that comes with this drug is getting worse. I am hoping this will subside, because I truly enjoy not having a migraine."

For Migraine Prevention "I’ve been on Qulipta for 6 months now. It has worked better than anything else I’ve tried. No mood alteration, which has been my biggest problem with others. I noticed my BP went up as well, but it was always too low anyway. It may have increased my trouble with constipation, but it’s hard to say. My biggest complaint is weight gain. Almost 10 lbs despite almost daily exercise and a very clean diet. I’m not sure what is going on since I’ve read so many with weight loss. Dr. won’t address the concern since I’m not obese."

For Chronic Migraine "Qulipta has been a Godsend. I have suffered from daily headaches and migraine headaches for over 20 years and thought there was no end to the suffering. I've tried every supplement and medication there is out there and thought the rest of my days were to be spent in pain. I kept seeing commercials for Qulipta and asked my doctor to prescribe it and thought, why not try this too. Well, thank God I did because I almost immediately began seeing improvement. I went from taking migraine medicine 3-4 times a day (which is too often) to I can't remember the last time I have taken it, and this has been months ago. Such a blessing and no side effects. Thanks to the makers, you've changed my life!"

For Migraine Prevention "I was on 60 mg for about 6 weeks, and honestly, it felt like I was taking nothing each day. I had raging migraines daily and went through two prescriptions of triptans for two months to try and survive. I have much more success on the injection preventatives in this class than this drug, unfortunately."

For Migraine Prevention "I’ve been taking Qulipta for three months now, and it seems to be working better than Aimovig and Topamax, etc. I just get stomach upset and very loose stools, which occurs once I wake up in the morning. I also experience vertigo with migraines, and some side effects cause dizziness, which is no fun to deal with. Overall, this medication does reduce the number of migraines I used to have and gets my activities back, but some side effects are unpleasant for me, particularly since I’m very sensitive to medication."

For Chronic Migraine "I have been using Qulipta for about six months now, according to my neurologist's recommendation. 60 mg was far too much for me, so I halved the dosage. My hair has begun to fall out. I'm experiencing way more than average hair loss. I also have extreme dry eyes now. Has anyone else experienced these side effects? This medication works so well for me, so I hate to stop taking it."

For Chronic Migraine "I've tried seven other medications (including injectables) - this is the first medication that has actually decreased my pain! I have a Chiari malformation, plus chronic migraine. After just a few weeks on 60 mg Qulipta, my daily head pressure was less, and I haven't had a full migraine at all (now six weeks into treatment). Zero side effects (though I wouldn't complain if I had the weight loss side effect!)."

For Chronic Migraine "Since starting Qulipta, I haven't had a migraine. I have never gone 12 days without a migraine before. I am really concerned about the cost of the medication. Since I am on Medicare, I don't qualify for the savings program, and adding the cost of another script might not be doable."

For Chronic Migraine "Have been taking Qulipta 60 mg nightly for the past 5 months for chronic migraines. Prior to this medication, 3-5 migraines per week. Now 1 or 2 times a month, mild migraines, usually with fast-changing weather conditions. Extreme fatigue has been the side effect. Trying an improved diet and increased exercise to try and counter fatigue."

For Migraine Prevention "For 40 years, I have suffered migraines 15 or more days a month. There isn’t a medication I haven’t tried, including Botox, which caused lasting extreme panic and anxiety. I started Qulipta (60 mg) on 11/15/24, the side effects were pretty severe, so we lowered the dose to 30 mg and I take it at night. It took a few weeks for my body to adjust, but with the exception of two migraines (I caught early and controlled them with Maxult), I have been migraine-free for 7 weeks. I had completely forgotten what it felt like to be migraine and headache-free."

For Migraine Prevention "I have been taking Qulipta 30 mg for 30 days with zero relief. It has also given me severe constipation. My neuro increased the dose to 40 mg, and I completely stopped using the bathroom for 5 days. I suspended the medication and had a bowel movement in 24 hrs. My neuro wants me to go back down to the 30 mg dose, but after taking it for 30 days with zero relief, I am not sure this is working for me. I tried Nurtec, and it seemed to work better with zero side effects."

For Chronic Migraine "I have been taking Qulipta now for about 5 months. It has been a game changer. I was having around 15 migraines a month, and now I have 1 in 5 months. My main side effect is extreme fatigue. I have to work through that because tiredness is better than migraines. It has gotten a little easier every month."

For Migraine Prevention "Qulipta has been a life changer for me. For 25 years, I suffered with 2-3 migraines a week, on average, and a daily headache, ranging in severity. I've taken so many different OTC medications that they stopped working for me, and I had to get a scope due to stomach ulcer concerns. I've been prescribed migraine medications in the past that never worked for me. It wasn't until I recently received my prescription for Qulipta that my life changed. I have been taking it for roughly 5 months now, and I've had 3 migraines. Two of those were the result of me not having the medication for a few days while I was waiting for my prescription to arrive. I've had very few headaches as well. I cannot express how much this preventative has saved my life and has given me a brighter future. I take my pill at night with dinner and have experienced no side effects."

For Migraine Prevention "Daily horrible migraines. I was on Gabapentin for years, which stripped my body of B6. I had all but one of the B6 deficiency symptoms. I finally got to a neurologist and asked to be put on something else. He gave me samples of Qulipta, and within a week, the daily migraines were GONE, with an occasional “breakthrough” one. 60 mg per day works for me, the main side effect can be constipation, which is easy to counter if you take minerals, especially magnesium. Too bad it is outrageously priced, and insurance won’t cover it."

For Migraine Prevention "A miracle medication. Suffering from incapacitating migraines since my 30s. Around 4 a week and non-responding to treatment well. I’ve been taking it for 4 months now, and just 3 mild migraines when tired or stressed out. Constipation for the first two months, but now normal. Very happy!!"

For Chronic Migraine "I just recently started taking Qulipta 60 mg. I received samples from my neurologist. I was doing really well with Botox plus Vyepti, and then I had a stroke. Right after the stroke, my migraines went back to every day, and the best I could do was to tamp the pain, nausea, confusion, light, and noise sensitivity a little bit. We decided to try something different. So I started Qulipta. Three days in, I knew something was different. Even with allergy season and sinus congestion, I can almost stop the pain with a little cold medicine or dual-action medicine. I am able to think and concentrate on daily chores and paying bills. I was already tired from trouble sleeping, and Qulipta makes that worse, so I sometimes need to go back to bed after breakfast for a couple of hours; I have moved to take the Qulipta in the evening, and that is a little better."

For Chronic Migraine "Triggers severe RLS! Not sure if it works because I am dealing with migraines on top of cervical instability that triggers occipital neuralgia and trigeminal neuralgia, which makes it hard to differentiate if it's a true migraine or from my neck the past couple of months. I am about to move my dose to the morning instead of at night to see if I am better able to tolerate it due to realizing it has triggered my RLS to break through my RLS medication, which makes it impossible to relax and sleep when taken at night. No other issues, side effect-wise, except for apparently CGRP inhibitors trigger full body RLS for me, despite taking a 24-hour RLS medication. I found no mention of this med causing RLS but did find plenty of studies linking CGRP inhibitors to RLS in patients. So if your legs start jumping at night, then yes, it's Qulipta."
