For Pulmonary Embolism "Had a load of pulmonary embolism (PE) after COVID. Took apixaban after a few months, started feeling unwell, had weakness, possibly hair loss, it seems very thin. Very depressed. I now have had pain and numbness in my right arm for 4 months. All over I ache, and all of my joints hurt. My stomach is also upset. I didn’t have any of these issues before. The doctor won’t tell me what to do. I’m fed up with asking, and I tried to stop taking it. It’s like you feel things in your arms and legs and get a headache. I suspect they’re addictive. I’m grateful I’m alive, but I’m so uncomfortable. I don’t know what to do, I think I’m intolerant."

Apixaban for Pulmonary Embolism "Had chest pain that was diagnosed as a pulmonary embolism. Put on apixaban double dose 2 x 10 daily for the first week. 2 x 5 mg thereafter. Been on it for 6 weeks now. My stomach has been dodgy for years after an ulcer, but Lanzoprazole keeps it calm and under control. Since taking apixaban, my stomach has flared up and regurgitating food, motions gone from solid to purée and liquefied. Had headaches and fatigue. GP putting me onto alternative and suggested Warfarin. Like everything, doesn’t suit everyone, unfortunately."

Apixaban "Made me feel funny. Headaches the third week. Not sure how it 'worked', I had a lot of bruises, but did not get a blood clot in my leg post-surgery."
Apixaban for Deep Vein Thrombosis "I have been using Eliquis for nearly 2.5 years after a second DVT and bilateral embolism. Have just had minor discomfort, lost weight, and am still working. After I came home from the hospital due to lockdown, I'm back at work now. Do get a headache every now and then, but I put this down to the stress of the job. But so far, everything's okay."
