Alprostadil for Erectile Dysfunction "Excellent... it must be used properly. Needle must be inserted almost to the hilt in the appropriate spot, as advised in the accompanying literature. If not, much less effective and burning sensation. Doing this, small amounts work!"

Alprostadil for Erectile Dysfunction "I have been using Edex for 20 months after a Da Vinci prostatectomy. Works perfectly. Started with a dose of about 7, 2 months after the operation but found it to be not enough, and so my Doc gave me the 20 mg syringes. Tried 15, and that worked fine for a while before becoming painful, particularly during penetration. Dose reduction helped matters, and today, 20 months later, 5 gives the same results, presumably because nerve endings have healed and linked since the operation. A great drug that for me only wears off after 4 hours, which is a bit problematic when my wife wants some action in the morning. Only 2 misfires, both times when injecting standing up. Lying down, I find easier and more comfortable. If the drug usage is painful, it is probably because you are overdosing - anyway, that is my experience."

Alprostadil for Erectile Dysfunction "I’m a 49-year-old with type 1 Diabetes (27 years) and Bipolar Disorder. I’m insulin-dependent, have neuropathy, and take Lithium, Topiramate, Bupropion, Prazosin, Atorvastatin, and Esomeprazole, which all affect erectile functioning. I used Viagra for 20 years until it stopped working recently. I take the Edex 20mcg injection and get fully erect about half the time. I’m going to request an increase to 40mcg. An interesting side effect for me: I cannot climax on this medication. I’ve tried. I used to have a minor problem with premature ejaculation (PE), but the other night I comfortably had sex nonstop for two hours. I never did climax. Bizarre. A great drug that cures erectile dysfunction (ED) and PE?!?!?! Wow."

For Erectile Dysfunction "Unbelievable. I tried through my primary physician, Viagra, Cialis, and with a pump. Nothing was worth the end disappointment. Squeezing and pumping wasn't working. My physician referred me to a urologist, and after a consult, he told me he had a med that would most likely pick me up (no pun intended). The injection was amazing. He performed a test injection, very small needle, little pain, 5 minutes later, I was blessing him like Jesus. I hadn't had an erection like that since my 20s. Alprostadil for Erectile Dysfunction "I have a serious heart condition. I must take nitrates to lower my blood pressure. They are the only ones that work. Taking oral ED medication lowers my blood pressure to a dangerous level. (I have ended up in the ER twice.) My urologist suggested Edex, I agreed to try it. I started with 5 mcg. It is very simple to administer, and it does not hurt. I was not satisfied with my erection, so I chalked it up to first-time jitters and too low of a dosage. The next time was even easier to administer, and I bumped up to 10 mcg, and let me tell you, before I could dispose of the needle, vial, and wash my hands, I had a raging erection. From the time of the initial injection to foreplay, intercourse (2 times), and finally falling asleep, it was close to 4 hours of an amazing erection and sex. However, I’m going back to 5 mcg for my wife’s sake. It’s too much. Cheers!"

Alprostadil for Erectile Dysfunction "I'm 61 and on heart meds that impair sexual performance. I was taking Cialis 20 mg in an attempt to regain my confidence. But it worked slightly only sometimes, this was not acceptable. So, I took the next step and was prescribed Edex. It took a long time to work up the nerve to stick a needle into the side of my penis, and I was sweating bullets when I finally had the syringe in my hand and the needle against the skin of my manhood. It took 15 minutes to insert the needle into my corpus cavernosum, yes, I was that queasy. There was no noticeable pain to the entire process, and I was totally relieved. This is a life-changing experience and is the end of the road for my performance anxiety. Edex completely freed me from my performance anxiety and my declining performance due to age. I only need a 10 µg dose for a rock-hard erection that lasts well over an hour. My girlfriend is also relieved from her anxiety of wondering if I'm going to last long enough for her to have an orgasm. Win, win!"

Alprostadil for Erectile Dysfunction "I have tried just about every erectile dysfunction remedy available over the last few years, none of which did much for me. My erections just were not strong enough to facilitate good sex for myself nor my wife, and I was losing any sensation. My urologist suggested I try MUSE, and I did. But only a couple of times. The feeling I got was like being kicked in the groin. I thought the first time was possibly only a fluke for some reason, but I was WRONG! The second time was just as bad! I have NEVER felt anything like the aching and discomfort I experienced, possibly outside of being kicked in the groin. And my erection was just as weak as ever, and my penis was so painful sex would have been impossible anyway. You can HAVE this stuff."

For Erectile Dysfunction "For 23 years I have used Prostaglandin E1, Alprostadil, or Prostin. It changed my whole sex life from quick before it goes down to long and slow. You have to be careful, you learn the proper way to take your injection, that is important, and DON'T TAKE TOO MUCH. I have had 6-hour erections that are painful. Take your shots out with you, step into a bathroom, and you're good to go 10 minutes later. My wife says it's the greatest invention ever. No side effects like Viagra, no flushing. My face goes purple on Viagra. Start out with small injections and work up to the right dose."

Alprostadil for Erectile Dysfunction "At my urologist's suggestion, I used Edex today. 10 mg dose and injected the entire tube. I had a solid erection in about 5 minutes, and it lasted for 3 hours. It went up much faster than it went down. So, it worked. Unfortunately, it became quite painful, so much so that intercourse would not have been pleasurable. Dosage can vary from 1-40 mg, so I will try again with a 2 or 3 mg dose. I had my prostate removed 2 years ago and haven't had a woody until today. I'm wondering if the pain is from the stretching of the tissues. Some indication online that there is less pain with increased use. Viagra and Cialis did not work, and I had crazy muscle pain with the latter. So this is my likely last option."

Alprostadil for Erectile Dysfunction "I have been using Caverject 20 mg for up to 20 years now and find it to be an excellent medicine. Fortunately, I don't have any of the side effects as highlighted on previous posts. I have used it on average once per week. My only issue with Caverject is that it's dogged with supply issues and it has not been available in my pharmacy since Oct 2021. Perhaps Pfizer can give an update on when supply resumes."

For Erectile Dysfunction "I have been using alprostadil for fifteen years. It will give me an erection in fifteen minutes. The 1000 meg dosage will last for 2 to 3 hours and the 500 meg for one hour. Both retard and reduce orgasm but leave me feeling 'satisfied.' It is unfortunate that medical plans severely limit the number of dosages they will pay for. It amounts to big business regulating my sex life. Not a happy scenario."

Alprostadil for Erectile Dysfunction "I am in very good shape at 70 years old. I have used Muse five times. One time worked out as planned, and the two other times it let me down. Another time I had an erection for four hours. So in short, it seems undependable, and I get an uneasy feeling to try it again. Plus, it takes too long to get it from the drug store. Alprostadil for Erectile Dysfunction "After fighting rectal cancer for 2 years, I lost the ability to get hard. My doctor prescribed 100 mg Viagra, which worked for a while, and then it got harder to produce an erection. The doctor asked me if I thought I could stick a small needle into my penis. I told him I could and would if it would help me get an erection. I have been using Edex for over 2 years with mostly a good reaction to the drug. The only reason I gave it a rating of 9 instead of a 10 was that every once in a while, when sticking the needle in, I would miss the sweet spot on my penis, and my erection wouldn't happen or only last a short amount of time. I'm finding after 2 years of using Edex, the needle has become harder to inject and more painful. My wife loves the hardness."

Alprostadil for Erectile Dysfunction "The first few administrations of Muse required some coaching from a healthcare professional who was knowledgeable and had access to resources. My foreskin is very long, so I had to pull it completely back before inserting the applicator in the head. The Muse started to work at the base of my penis (warming!), which was starting to expand before the rest of it. During the expansion at the base, the blood vessels started to pop out, so massaging helped move the suppository to even out the erection. Also, both of my testes and scrotum got full and tight as the Muse started to work. For Erectile Dysfunction "I had difficulties achieving a full, rigid erection since my teens and never found satisfactory treatments until I was 23 when I emotionally opened up to my doctor with tears. I was sent for a Doppler scan of my penis to figure out what's going on. It turned out my left artery on the left side is narrow, and I had a birth defect. My doctor showed me how to inject myself and found my dose of 14 mcg. I have not changed the dosage for 14 years. Viagra, Cialis, etc. do not help me due to the birth defect. I use the prostaglandin E1 carefully, and I think it's great. I gave it a 10 rating. It works."

But when it came to performance, I went soft after inserting into my girlfriend. This is a big disappointment to her and makes her feel unwanted. Alprostadil for Erectile Dysfunction "Look, I won't hide the fact that it doesn't work like when I was young. Diabetes, or the lack of control, has me. ED pills worked for a while but stopped. I forget the name of the next stuff I had to insert, which was good but didn't feel right. As I am taking insulin, the use of a needle was not a problem, and when I saw how fast the results were, I was thrilled! This is not to be used every day or to make up for past opportunities. Yes, the length or time of hardness may outweigh your stamina, but MAN! It feels good to be able to sexually make her happy again."

We talked about the injection, and I really had to come to grips with injecting myself. I finally decided to try it, and the effects were amazing. Alprostadil for Erectile Dysfunction "This medication is not that great, if you can achieve good results on Viagra, Levitra, or Cialis, any of these three drugs is a much better option. The biggest complaint about Caverject is that after injecting this medication, it literally feels like there is a burning feeling, it is very uncomfortable and significantly reduces any chance of pleasure during sexual intimacy. As the drug wears off, it feels like someone elbowed you in the groin. If it is your only option, then it may be better than nothing, but it definitely has its drawbacks."

Alprostadil for Erectile Dysfunction "Creates only a soft erection; not enough for intercourse. I have mentally separated ejaculation from intercourse because what I primarily want is the sense of 'oneness' with my mate. With a MUSE injection, I feel a sort of pain, which also is felt in my ankles and lower legs. It's pretty useless for me. Does give a soft erection for a short time."

Alprostadil for Erectile Dysfunction "Works somewhat, but not stiff enough for vaginal penetration. Haven't tried while standing, though. Fairly strong penile aching with 1-2 hr. persistent erection afterwards are not a plus. I've had somewhat better results using a vacuum pump and retainer ring. The best thing so far was 'Trimix' intracavernosal injection - a good hard erection, no pain - but the last batch was not particularly effective, and I don't know if the compounding pharmacy used dated materials, or my response is declining with age. Viagra and Cialis do nothing for me."

Alprostadil for Erectile Dysfunction "I've tried this around 8 times with limited success. Application is easy enough, and what effect it had was within 10 minutes or so. I got a fairly soft erection that lasted about 40 minutes. It seemed to work better standing, going to almost no effect if I lay on my back. I noticed quite an ache in the penis for a couple of hours."

For Erectile Dysfunction "Tried 3 times with 40 mcg dose, once in doctor's office. Absolutely NO results, but really big pain and discomfort. Have lower back pain, testicular pain, injection site pain, and overall serious discomfort. Have to take oral pain medication to relieve the seriousness of the pain, and will not use this. Will re-visit my urologist again and let him know the torture this is causing, and I have a very high pain threshold."

Alprostadil for Erectile Dysfunction "I've had ED for many years due to a stressful marriage and hypertension. Cialis and other oral meds didn't do much for me and didn't last very long. Divorced my wife and consulted a urologist, he suggested Alprostadil 20 micrograms. 20 was too strong, as the erection lasted over 4 hours, he cut back the dosage to 10 micrograms, and I get an erection that lasts about 2 hours, perfect for terrific sex with my girlfriend. I'm 75, and my girlfriend is 72, neither of us has ever had such a perfect intimate relationship. She massages my penis after the injection, which increases our bonding. I was afraid to inject my penis at first, but after a couple of times, the anxiety went away. Wish it weren't so expensive, I would like to use it more often."

Alprostadil for Erectile Dysfunction "I had been on oral medication for ED for years and then my urology nurse said I had to be switched to ED injections. So I arrived for my appointment with a nervous feeling. The male nurse showed me the box of Caverject. The box had two needles, neither seemed that big. My nurse mixed the solution and tablet together in a small glass and the injection was ready as soon as the mixture went clear. I was shown how to retract my foreskin and wiped the vial and my penis with two alcohol wipes. My nurse did the injection then I had to press on my penis. Then I was shown how to massage the fluid along my penis and ten minutes later my erection was more than satisfactory. My erection has returned to pre-prostate surgery. This ED injection is painless and now I feel my young age of 49. Definitely worth considering this as the results were instant for me."
