Acetaminophen / tramadol for Pain "I've only been taking this medication for 2 days (back pain), it takes the edge off, which allows me to function better. However, I'm nauseous, dizzy, and lightheaded, and I can't keep my eyes open, and I'm not even tired. I'm thinking about not taking it because I can't drive like this with 2 young children in my car."

For Pain "This medication works better on certain medical conditions, particularly spine pain of any kind, moderate acute joint pain, and acute muscle pains. It is an opioid, though working differently from the other opiates, and will act as one - in that you may get withdrawal symptoms if using it for a long time. Likewise, if you start using it at higher doses (like 2 tabs), you will experience the nausea that comes with opiate use. Better to start it at a low dose of half to 1 whole pill and work up if needed. Only take this pill at the minimum dose you require for the least amount of time necessary, unless your doctor tells you otherwise."

For Pain "I was taking Norco 10-325 for back pain. After 6 years, my Dr changed to tramadol 50mg. Side effects are killing me. Now I do have a lot of pain in my liver and my kidneys, nausea, black stools, and I wonder if I should take an attorney and sue him."

For Pain "This medication did not help me with my pain, period. I took up to 400 mg at once and still no relief, but it did make me feel nauseated and gave me a headache. It's synthetic and really more like a weak antidepressant. I was prescribed it to alternate with my hydrocodone 10 mg tabs. I stopped my Norco for a 2-week period to give tramadol a chance, but it never worked. This stuff is rubbish! No, it's not equal to codeine. I have taken codeine, and tramadol is entirely different in effect. Sorry, I'll stick to true morphine-based pain meds like codeine, hydrocodone, oxycodone, etc. Even synthetic Darvocet worked better than this stuff!"

Acetaminophen / tramadol for Pain "My ENT prescribed Ultracet for sinus pain. It was a nightmare. I had all possible side effects: nausea, vomiting sensation, lack of appetite, dizziness, giddy feeling, and severe constipation. I stopped after the second dose. Spent two days in bed."

For Pain "I have suffered from moderate to severe back pain for 15 years. I have a disk herniation and a pinched nerve. Lots of pain all day. Nothing relieves it. I have been on tramadol 50 mg. After 4 years on the tram, I became addicted. I loved it because I could work like hell on it. Pain gone. Took anywhere from 100-400 mg a day. I had the doctor take me off. Took some of my wife's here and there. I called my doctor and told her she had to give me something. I was missing work a lot, and I just can't go without something for the bad days. She gave me Ultracet. Literally does almost nothing for me but makes me nauseated. Maybe it doesn't work because I've been taking tram until she gave it to me? Built a high tolerance?"

For Pain "I was taking hydrocodone 10 for years for degenerative disks in my neck and lower back. I started seeing a different doctor that was indifferent to prescribing them because of the bad hype and didn’t want to have to prescribe them monthly. So he asked me to try Tramadol HCL 50 mg, and so I did for three months. They made me nauseous for hours until it wore off. I tried taking 1/2 and still felt nauseous, but not as bad. They do not even compare to my Norcos, and I couldn’t get past the nausea I feel after taking the pill. So I heard of Tramadol with Tylenol from something I read, and I’ve started doing some research. The reviews on the tramadol/Tylenol are mostly very positive, and it might be as good or better than the Norcos I have been taking for 30 years or more. So why did my doctor prescribe me the Tramadol HCL 50 mg and not the Tramadol/Tylenol 50 mg? Well, that is a question that I can't wait to ask him when I go see him, but I won’t be taking any more of the HCL."

For Pain "Was given this for the shingles. Works great. Tends to not work as well if taken too much. Dizzy and nauseated when I move, but can tolerate."
