"I have had terrible PVCs (premature ventricular contractions) that made me so sick I wanted to die. I was prescribed Metoprolol that made me sick because it dropped my BP too low and heart rate too low and didn't completely stop my PVCs. I took a calcium channel blocker that also didn't really work. Acebutolol is known for not lowering the heart rate as much as Metoprolol and not only was it the only med I could tolerate, it has stopped my PVCs so they are hardly detectable and side effects are minimal. I am so worried Amneal will stop making it because it is rarely prescribed anymore as cheaper meds are on the market that are also time release and Acebutolol is not time released. For me it has been a miracle drug. My doctor said it has been his 'secret weapon' for those who can't tolerate other beta blockers."

"I was originally on Metoprolol when I first developed heart arrhythmia. It made me really tired, and I started to get depressed. I had never suffered from depression in my life. My doctor switched me to acebutolol, and I could feel the difference in one day-no tiredness, no depression. I am super happy with it. The only drawback is it took five days to kick in, but I could wait. My system sometimes has strange reactions to drugs (inherited from my mom), so possibly the reason for the lag time."
