FOWL POX-MYCOPLASMA GALLISEPTICUM VACCINE

Live Fowl Pox Vector

Description

This vaccine contains a genetically engineered live poxvirus for the vaccination of chickens and turkeys. The fowl pox vaccine has been genetically engineered to contain and express key protective Mycoplasma gallisepticum antigens.

Vectormune FP-MG Indications

This product has been shown to be effective for the vaccination of healthy chickens 8 weeks of age or older and turkeys 4 weeks of age or older against Fowl pox virus and Mycoplasma gallisepticum. The duration of immunity is at least 12 weeks for chickens and at least 5 weeks for turkeys. For more information regarding efficacy and safety data, see productdata.aphis.usda.gov.

Dosage and Administration

Remove the seal and stopper from the vaccine vial and diluent vial. Pour the entire contents of the diluent vial into the vaccine vial, insert the stopper, and shake well. The vaccine is ready for use and should be used within one hour. Administer by the wing web route. Hold each individual chicken or turkey and spread the wing with the underside facing up. Dip the two-pronged wing web applicator into the vaccine so that the grooves fill with liquid and deliver 0.01 mL per chicken or turkey. Insert the double-pronged applicator into the web portion of the wing avoiding blood vessels, muscle, and bone.

Seven to ten days after vaccination, observe several chickens for evidence of “takes” that includes swelling and/or scab formation at the injection site. Turkeys should be examined for evidence of “takes” at ten to fourteen days after vaccination.

Chickens and turkeys receiving this vaccine must not have been previously vaccinated with a fowl pox vaccine. Contact your veterinarian or manufacturer for more information on revaccination frequency.

Vectormune FP-MG Caution
