Soluble antibiotic for chickens, turkeys, swine, calves, sheep and lambs.
Active Ingredient
Tetracycline hydrochloride, USP 1000 mg/g
Tetra-Bac 1000 Indications
As an aid in the treatment of infections caused by or associated with microorganisms susceptible to tetracycline hydrochloride.
Chickens:
Chronic respiratory disease (CRD), cholera, enteritis, and Hexamitiasis.
Turkeys:
Chronic respiratory disease (CRD), Bluecomb, cholera, enteritis and Hexamitiasis.
Swine, calves, sheep and lambs:
Enteritis (diarrhea) and respiratory diseases.
Dosage and Administration
To reduce the development of antimicrobial resistance and maintain effectiveness, use this antibiotic prudently.
Chickens and turkeys:
125 g per 2500 L of water for 3 to 5 days.
For automatic proportioner:
Set the apparatus to distribute 15 mL per 4 L of drinking water (1/2 oz/gallon U.S.). Prepare the stock solution by dissolving 125 g in 9 L of water. This will medicate 2460 L of drinking water.
Swine:
0.25 g of powder per 25 kg of body weight every 12 hours, given as a drench using a dose syringe or 0.5 g of powder per 4 L of drinking water or 125 g per 1000 L of drinking water for 4 or 5 days.
For automatic proportioner:
Set the apparatus to distribute 30 mL per 4 L of drinking water (1 oz/gallon U.S.). Prepare the stock solution by dissolving 125 g in 7.5 L of water. This will medicate 1000 L of drinking water.
Calves (scours):
0.25 g of powder per 50 kg of body weight every 12 hours, given as a drench in water or 125 g per 1125 L of water for 3 to 5 days.
Calves (respiratory diseases):
Double above dosage for 3 to 5 days.
Sheep and lambs:
0.25 g of powder per 25 kg of body weight every 12 hours given as a drench in water for 4 or 5 days.
1 teaspoon equals 4 g.
CAUTIONS:
Only medicated drinking water should be provided during the treatment period and fresh solutions should be prepared daily.
Warnings
Treated animals must not be slaughtered for use in food for at least 5 days after the latest treatment with this drug. Do not use in lactating dairy animals. Do not feed to laying birds. When handling the product, avoid inhalation, oral exposure and direct contact with skin or eyes. Keep out of reach of children.
Storage
Protect from light and humidity. Store between 15°C and 30°C.
