Hawthorne’s Ice-O-Poultice has a highly effective cooling action, which is beneficial to hot tired legs especially during demanding times of training and racing. It also helps moisturize and cool the legs, hocks, ankles, knees, and pasterns. This is easily used by inexperienced equine care givers.

Directions For Use

Legs: Clean leg and moisten area of application with water. Work small amounts of Ice-O-Poultice into hair until you have built up a thick application. The area can be left uncovered or wrapped with paper towel and standing bandages. For a more penetrating effect, wrap with plastic over the toweling or dampened paper before applying the standing bandage. Hooves: Clean affected area. Rub packing into frog and sole area of hoof. Cover with paper or hoof boot.

Contraindications

Not for pregnant or lactating animals. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. Not for use in animals on anticoagulant therapy. Not for use in young animals.

Cautions:

Do not apply heat after application as it may cause skin irritation. Do not apply to wounds or damaged skin. Do not exceed recommended dose. For topical use only, do not allow horse to ingest. For use on intact skin only (topical active). Not for long term use (longer than 7 days).
