Directions For Use

SHAKE WELL BEFORE USING. This product has a special valve that sprays in all directions even upside down for hard-to-reach areas. Within the specified use location, to enhance effectiveness of this product, apply directly to the listed pests where possible. For all labelled uses, treatment must only be repeated after 7 days if pest problem persists or reoccurs. Good sanitary practices should be maintained to prevent re-infestation.

USE LIMITATIONS

DO NOT apply when people or pets are present.

DO NOT apply when a food/feed processing facility, milking parlour, milk room or milk house is in operation.

DO NOT apply to surfaces that may come into contact with food/feed. Cover or remove all food/feed including bulk tanks that contain milk. Cover or remove all milking equipment and thoroughly wash before use. Cover all food/feed processing surfaces, equipment and utensils or thoroughly wash them following treatment. Any food/feed (including milk) accidentally contaminated with spray solution must be discarded.

DO NOT apply to overhead areas or in confined spaces without appropriate respiratory and eye protection.

Ventilate treated areas after application either by opening windows and doors or using fans, where required, to aid in the circulation of air. Air exchange/ventilation systems confirmed to be operational may also be used.

When applied as a space treatment: DO NOT remain in treated areas after application. DO NOT allow people, pets or livestock to enter treated areas until 2 hours after application. The commercial applicator is responsible for informing workers and others of this requirement.

When applied as a surface treatment: DO NOT allow spray to drip or allow drift onto non-target surfaces. DO NOT allow people or pets to enter treated areas until sprays have dried.

HOW TO APPLY

DO NOT APPLY AS A BROADCAST TREATMENT. Apply as a space spray, crack and crevice, perimeter, spot or furniture (pet bedding, mattresses, box springs and bed frames only) treatment only.

SPACE application is a suspension of fine droplets in the air within an indoor space. CRACK AND CREVICE is an application directly into narrow openings on the surface of the structure. It does not include the treatment of exposed surfaces. Narrow openings typically occur at expansion joints, utility entry points and along baseboards and mouldings.

PERIMETER application is less than 0.3 m wide along the edges of a room to baseboards, wall-floor and ceiling-wall joints, and around doorways or windows.

SPOT application is localized to a surface area not more than 0.2 m2. Spots are not to be adjoining and the combined area of spots is not to exceed 10% of the total surface area of a room.

FURNITURE treatment: broadcast application covers large areas of the entire surface of items; crack and crevice treatments are applications to junction points on items; spot application is up to 10% of the surface of the item; and tuft and/or seam treatment (mattresses only) is to the junction of two or more pieces of fabric and any decorative trim (e.g., buttons).

SPACE APPLICATION

To kill stable flies, horse flies, face flies, deer flies, house flies, horn flies, mosquitoes, biting midges, wasps inside animal quarters, milking parlours, milk rooms, milk houses, dairy barns, horse barns, piggeries, livestock shelter sheds, food processing plants, restaurants, hotels, hospitals, and other commercial and industrial buildings.

In hospitals, DO NOT use in nurseries or rooms where infants, ill or aged persons are confined.

Close all windows and doors and shut off all ventilating systems and sources of ignition before treatment. While holding can at arm’s length, direct the spray upward in sweeping motion to all parts of the room, especially ceiling, upper corners of the room, windows and other light. Begin application at far side of the room and work backwards toward exit. DO NOT exceed 1.53 g per m3 (1-2 seconds). Vacate the treated area and keep windows and doors closed for 15 minutes before ventilating. For ventilation and re-entry requirements, see “Use Limitations” (above). After the re-entry interval has passed, clean up dead insects. Spray only when temperature is under 32°C. In shelter shed use, applications may be influenced by openness and air currents.

SURFACE APPLICATION

For indoor surface applications, DO NOT exceed 9.24 g/m3 (4 - 6 seconds).

To kill cockroaches, spiders, crickets, ants, carpet beetles, centipedes and silverfish, thoroughly treat indoor structural surfaces, including cracks and crevices in walls, floors and ceilings; along and behind baseboards; walls behind and floors beneath appliances (e.g., refrigerators and stoves) and furniture (e.g., cabinets and storage units); around sinks, drains and pipes; localized areas around garbage cans; and other structural elements where listed insects hide.

For ants, also spray trails, nests and points of entry (e.g., around windows and doors).

To kill bed bugs: DO NOT use on items which can be laundered (e.g., pillows, bedding, toys, clothing, etc.). Remove bedding before treating mattress. Spray mattress, particularly around tufts and seams. Take bed apart and spray the bed frame, springs and all joints. Treated mattress must be dry before replacing laundered bedding.

To kill dog and cat fleas, Brown Dog and American Dog ticks, DO NOT apply to furniture (with the exception of pet bedding), mattresses, linens, toys or clothing. Apply to indoor structural surfaces, including cracks and crevices in walls and floors; along and behind baseboards, window and door frames; and localized areas of floors and floor coverings. Pet bedding may be entirely treated with this product or replaced with clean, fresh bedding after other listed areas are treated.

DO NOT SPRAY PETS WITH THIS PRODUCT. Only treat pets with products specifically registered for use on that type of pet. For effective flea and tick control indoors, clean any area used by the pet. Cleaning the areas includes vacuuming floors, carpets, furniture, etc. (discard vacuum bag after use) and washing the pet’s bedding, living quarters, and surrounding area.

Thoroughly coat the hair of the animal - DO NOT wet the skin. DO NOT apply as a spray to the face of the animal. To treat the face, moisten (not to the point of dripping) a clean, soft cloth with product and thoroughly rub the moistened cloth on the face of the animal, being certain to avoid contact with the eyes/eyelids and mucous membranes. DO NOT apply more than once per day during peak fly season. DO NOT apply more than once a week during non-peak fly season. Treatment must only be repeated if pest problem persists or reoccurs.

RESISTANCE MANAGEMENT RECOMMENDATIONS

For resistance management, Doktor Doom Extra Strength Farm & Livestock Insect Eliminator contains a Group 3 insecticide. Any insect population may contain individuals naturally resistant to Doktor Doom Extra Strength Farm & Livestock Insect Eliminator and other Group 3 insecticides. The resistant individuals may dominate the insect population if this group of insecticides is used repeatedly in the same locations. Other resistance mechanisms that are not linked to site of action but are specific for individual chemicals, such as enhanced metabolism, may also exist. Appropriate resistance-management strategies should be followed. To delay insecticide resistance:

● Where possible, rotate the use of Doktor Doom Extra Strength Farm & Livestock Insect Eliminator or other Group 3 insecticides with different groups that control the same pests in the location to be treated.

● Insecticide use should be based on an IPM program that includes scouting and record keeping, and considers cultural, biological and other chemical control practices.

● Monitor treated pest populations for resistance development.

● Contact your local extension specialist or certified crop advisors for any additional pesticide resistance-management and/or IPM recommendations for the specific site and pest problems in your area.
