Storage
This product should be stored at -20° Celsius. Typically, a common household freezer is adequate. However, frostless freezers will decrease the lifespan of the product significantly.EXPIRATION: This product expires five years from the date of processing. The expiration date is indicated on the box and the frozen plasma unit. If this product is thawed but not used, it may be refrozen within two hours, which will maintain its sterility and function.
THAWING: To thaw, place unopened box at room temperature for 15 minutes. Then, open the box by pulling top flap and gently removing the frozen plasma unit. The frozen plasma unit may remain at room temperature until fully thawed. Thaw time can be decreased by utilizing a warm water bath (37°C or 98.6°F). When utilizing a warm water bath, the plasma should be placed in a waterproof plastic bag (like Ziploc®) to avoid direct contact with the water, which can cause bacterial contamination.
