Some side effects of ciprofloxacin otic may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. The most commonly reported side effects included localized pain, ear pruritus, superinfection, and headache.[Ref]


Common (1% to 10%): Ear pruritus, ear pain, ear discomfort/stinging, ear infection, fungal ear superinfection/otomycosis
Frequency not reported: Facial edema
Postmarketing reports: Crying, ear congestion, otorrhea, tinnitus, pyrexia[Ref]

Nervous system

Common (1% to 10%): Headache/cephalea, transient dizziness, vertigo, dysgeusia/bitter taste
Frequency not reported: Loss of consciousness, tingling[Ref]


Common (1% to 10%): Nasopharyngitis, rhinorrhea
Frequency not reported: Pharyngeal edema, dyspnea[Ref]
