Applies to: pemoline, Briviact (brivaracetam)
MONITOR: Decreased seizure threshold has been reported in patients receiving pemoline concomitantly with antiepileptic medications. The mechanism of interaction has not been described, although convulsive seizures have been reported as a side effect of pemoline.
MANAGEMENT: Caution and clinical monitoring are advised when pemoline is used in patients receiving anticonvulsant therapy. Patients should be advised to notify their physician if they experience loss of seizure control.
