- Carisoprodol Compound (aspirin / carisoprodol)
- oritavancin
Interactions between your drugs
carisoprodol oritavancin
Applies to: Carisoprodol Compound (aspirin / carisoprodol), oritavancin
Consumer information for this interaction is not currently available.
MONITOR: Coadministration with oritavancin may increase the plasma concentrations of drugs that are substrates of CYP450 2C9, and/or 2C19. The mechanism is decreased clearance due to inhibition of these isoenzymes by oritavancin. In a screening drug interaction study in 16 healthy volunteers, a single 1,200 mg dose of oritavancin increased the omeprazole-to-5-hydroxyomeprazole plasma ratio by 15% and the systemic exposure (AUC) of warfarin by 31%, indicating weak inhibition of CYP450 2C19 and CYP450 2C9, respectively.
MANAGEMENT: Caution is advised when oritavancin used concomitantly with drugs that are substrates of CYP450 2C9 and/or 2C19, particularly sensitive substrates, or those with a narrow therapeutic range. Dosage adjustments as well as closer clinical and laboratory monitoring for the development of adverse effects may be appropriate for some drugs whenever oritavancin is added to or withdrawn from therapy. Individual product labeling should be consulted for further guidance.
Drug and food interactions
carisoprodol food
Applies to: Carisoprodol Compound (aspirin / carisoprodol)
Alcohol can increase the nervous system side effects of carisoprodol such as dizziness, drowsiness, and difficulty concentrating. Some people may also experience impairment in thinking and judgment. You should avoid or limit the use of alcohol while being treated with carisoprodol. Do not use more than the recommended dose of carisoprodol, and avoid activities requiring mental alertness such as driving or operating hazardous machinery until you know how the medication affects you. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions or concerns.
aspirin food
Applies to: Carisoprodol Compound (aspirin / carisoprodol)
Ask your doctor before using aspirin together with ethanol (alcohol). Do not drink alcohol while taking aspirin. Alcohol can increase your risk of stomach bleeding caused by aspirin. Call your doctor at once if you have symptoms of bleeding in your stomach or intestines. This includes black, bloody, or tarry stools, or coughing up blood or vomit that looks like coffee grounds. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.

Applies to: Carisoprodol Compound (aspirin / carisoprodol)
Information for this minor interaction is available on the professional version.
Therapeutic duplication warnings
No duplication warnings were found for your selected drugs.
Therapeutic duplication warnings are only returned when drugs within the same group exceed the recommended therapeutic duplication maximum.
Drug Interaction Classification
Highly clinically significant. Avoid combinations; the risk of the interaction outweighs the benefit.
Moderately clinically significant. Usually avoid combinations; use it only under special circumstances.
Minimally clinically significant. Minimize risk; assess risk and consider an alternative drug, take steps to circumvent the interaction risk and/or institute a monitoring plan.
