Drug Interaction Report
3 potential interactions and/or warnings found for the following 2 drugs:
- Arbli (losartan)
- vosoritide
Interactions between your drugs
losartan vosoritide
Applies to: Arbli (losartan), vosoritide
Vosoritide may cause transitory decreases in blood pressure and may have additive effects when used together with losartan. You may be more likely to experience side effects such as dizziness, weakness, headache, nausea, flushing or fainting. You may need frequent monitoring of your blood pressure to safely use both medications. To reduce the risk of low blood pressure and its associated symptoms, you should have adequate food intake before vosoritide administration and should drink approximately 8 to 10 ounces of liquids within the hour prior to vosoritide injection. Avoid driving or operating hazardous machinery until you know how these medications affect you and use caution when getting up from a sitting or lying position. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
Drug and food/lifestyle interactions
losartan food/lifestyle
Applies to: Arbli (losartan)
If you are taking losartan you should avoid potassium-containing salt substitutes or over-the-counter potassium supplements without first talking to your doctor. This can cause high levels of potassium in your blood. High levels of potassium can cause weakness, irregular heartbeat, confusion, tingling of the extremities, or feelings of heaviness in the legs. Call your doctor at once if you have any of these symptoms.
In some patients grapefruits and grapefruit juice may decrease the efficacy of losartan. Grapefruits and grapefruit juice should be avoided if an interaction is suspected. Orange juice is not expected to interact.
vosoritide food/lifestyle
Applies to: vosoritide
Vosoritide may cause transient decreases in blood pressure. To reduce the risk of low blood pressure and its associated symptoms, you should have adequate food intake before vosoritide administration and should drink approximately 8 to 10 ounces of liquids within the hour prior to vosoritide injection. Tell your doctor if you experience fatigue, nausea, dizziness, or lightheadedness after vosoritide injection. Avoid driving or operating hazardous machinery until you know how this medication affects you and use caution when getting up from a sitting or lying position. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
