Applies to the following strengths: 0.5%

Usual Adult Dose for Condylomata Acuminata

Solution or gel: Apply topically twice daily for 3 consecutive days, then discontinue for 4 consecutive days.
Duration: The cycle may be repeated until there is no visible wart tissue or for a maximum of four cycles.

Precautions

If there is incomplete response after four treatment cycles, discontinue treatment and consider alternative treatment. The safety and efficacy of more than four treatment cycles have not been established.

The recommended method of application, frequency of application, and duration of usage should not be exceeded.

Correct diagnosis of the lesion to be treated is essential, histopathologic confirmation should be obtained if there is any doubt.

Safety and efficacy of the use of podofilox topical for the treatment of mucous membrane (including the urethra, rectum, and vagina) warts have not been established.

Safety and efficacy in pediatric patients have not been established.

The physician should demonstrate the proper application technique and advise the patient on the area that should be treated with podofilox topical.

Podofilox topical is intended for cutaneous use only. Contact with the eyes should be avoided. If contact occurs, the area should be washed thoroughly with water and the patient should seek medical advice.

Patients should be advised to wash hands thoroughly before and after applying the gel.
