The use of pegademase bovine is contraindicated as preparatory or support therapy for bone marrow transplantation.
Pegademase bovine (applies to Adagen) platelet disorders
Major Potential Hazard, Moderate plausibility. Applicable conditions: Thrombocytopenia, Coagulation Defect, Thrombocytopathy
Pegademase bovine should be used with caution in patients with thrombocytopenia. This agent should not be used in patients with severe thrombocytopenia. Pegademase is administered by IM injection and the risk of bleeding is increased in the presence of severe thrombocytopenia. Therapy with pegademase bovine should be administered cautiously in patients with coagulation or platelet function disorders.
