For Edema "I've been suffering from extreme edema since 2009. I've been on a different diuretics since then and have used in a combination Lasix & potassium and it has to help regulate the fluid retention. without the Dyrenium, my potassium levels drop to almost lethal level. Obviously this is an improvement! Side effects are not overtly noticeable due to the use of them with Lasix: Usual dry mouth, cramping of back & legs, weakness. I would rate it higher but it is very expensive."

"After three years of mistreatment by my ENT doctor for ear pain, hearing loss, and a deafening tone without resolution, I saw a new ENT doctor who immediately diagnosed Meniere's disease and prescribed Dyrenium, generic Triamterene 37.5mg/HCTZ 25mg, to reduce the fluid buildup in the ear. The first dose I took surprised me with a quiet night's sleep for the first time in years, and the painful condition continued to improve. I am glad that this is a potassium-sparing water pill because I had been having potassium/sodium balance issues, and so far, this issue has been avoided. I am a bit more lethargic, but this can be attributed to lower than normal blood pressure, a side effect, since I do not have high blood pressure to begin with. I just need to be careful with the other medications I take, especially pain relievers and anxiety medications. Overall, this medication is performing very well for the reason it was prescribed, and without the deafening tone in my ear, my hearing has improved."
