For Type 2 Diabetes "I experienced some nausea, had severe stomach pains at times, vomiting, indigestion, and terrible sulfur burps. The appetite suppression is amazing, as I felt like a normal person not feeling hungry all the time. After my 2nd shot and even worse side effects, I told my doctor I noticed my eyes had jaundice, so he told me to stop taking it. It did lower my blood sugar levels, and I'm so disappointed my body couldn't tolerate this medication, as it would have helped me lose weight."

For Type 2 Diabetes "It's easy to use, however, the side effects are horrible. I have had all of the listed side effects. Constipation, nausea, and vomiting are the worst. It feels like a rock in my gut, however, it's a little better than Ozempic, which I puked every day. So I'm sticking with the Mounjaro for now."

"I have diarrhea, lower stomach pain, dry heaves every time I eat. I also have back pain, but that is not unusual. This pain might be a little different though. I didn't know to tell my doctor that I have had a vein occlusion in my right eye quite a few years ago. I don't know if that is important or not. I don't think I am reading as well. Not sure."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I was started on Mounjaro at the end of Jan 2023. My A1C was 10, and I am 41, about 5 ft 9 in. I weighed about 350 lbs. I had no energy, had sleep apnea, hurt all the time, and could not even walk without running out of breath. I was miserable. Finally, I talked to my doctor, and she decided to try me on this. After a little struggle getting insurance to cover it and get the med in stock at my pharmacy, I got going on this new journey. About 2 months in, I started having major diarrhea and vomiting. Had to take a break for a week and then started doing my injections in my thighs instead of my belly, and that has made it a lot more bearable. I do still get diarrhea and sulfur burps for 3, sometimes 4 days after my shot, but nothing major. Now my A1C is 6, my blood glucose averages 75, and I am weighing in at 270 lbs. I can walk now without running out of breath and without being in major pain. I have made other changes, such as watching what I eat, stopping drinking soda, and started trying to walk."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Mounjaro is good for weight loss as it makes you less hungry and increases your energy levels, but the downside is the side effects, which range from nausea, vomiting, and constipation. It is not a miracle drug, and it is started at a low level and gradually increases, but it's a great kickstart if it's combined with a healthy lifestyle."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Although I have had a lot of nausea and vomiting, I have gone from 216 lbs to 168 lbs. I was given Zofran, which helped a lot! I have an appointment with my doctor this coming Tuesday because I have developed a lump on my throat. This has me very concerned. The shot was very easy to use."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started taking Mounjaro in August of '22. My doctor started me on it for Type 2 diabetes, but weight loss was also the goal. Started at 2.5 mg and now I’m on 15 mg. So far, I’ve lost 80 pounds with no effort. I’ve had little to no appetite. In regard to side effects, they’ve been very minimal. Some mild nausea, dry mouth, and constipation. I have vomited on 3 occasions, and it was due to drinking too much coffee, which made me too full. When reading reviews, please keep in mind that in terms of side effects, you just won’t know until you try the med. I personally have 2 other friends taking this, and their experiences have been pretty much like mine. Don’t let the horror stories scare you, because this medicine has been a true lifesaver for me."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I've only had 2 shots and 2 days until the next one. I find it very convenient to administer. However, I have had some nasty side effects! I've had diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, fatigue. I will continue taking the medication hoping the side effects will 'calm down.'"

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been using Mounjaro for a year now. First time I had negative effects, nausea, constant vomiting, and tiredness. My body got used to it, and ever since, my blood sugar has been in check. I really advise anyone who is diabetic."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Dropped 60 lbs! My numbers are nearly all under 100 now. Nausea and vomiting I was able to keep at bay with ginger chews or ginger gum. It suppressed my appetite, and I didn't want to overeat. Also, fewer cravings for sugary items."

"I have insulin resistance, and I have taken my first dose of 5 mg this week. I have never been so dizzy in my life. I have to force myself to eat and drink. I could totally go all day without eating or drinking. When I force myself to eat, I get very nauseous or actually vomit. I have daily Zofran, which helps just keep the edge off, but eating is so hard. I know I need to eat, but I can’t. It’s great because I have never been able to feel full, I would just eat until it physically hurts. Now the binge restriction cycle has ended. I have lost weight and have felt good on the 2.5 mg dose, I have just had mild nausea. Because it’s hard to eat, I doubt I have even really hit 1200 calories. I know my blood sugar has been low, and I can’t even drive without feeling unsafe. I got an IV, and that helped, but I do not want to do the next 3 doses of 5 mg. I’m calling my doctor this week to follow up and double-check what he thinks. Crackers and Core Power milk have helped."

For Type 2 Diabetes "So far, so good until yesterday. I think I ate too much, and then the stomach pain started, and diarrhea followed all night. As I tried to ingest water, I became nauseous and had to throw up, but that decreased the pain. I think I’m just getting used to the drug since this was my first dose of 7.5 mg pen."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on Mounjaro since Sep 2022. I started off with the 2.5 mg for about a month with no issues. My provider then moved me to 5 mg in October. Once again, no issues, and I started losing weight. 15 lbs in about 6 weeks. I was then moved up to 7.5 mg in November and have been miserable ever since. I have no appetite, severe constipation, major headaches, and vomiting, and I am now having issues with low blood pressure (causing lightheadedness, dizziness, and vision issues), which I believe is being caused by my never wanting to eat or drink anything. I have informed my provider of this, and she is now wanting to send me to a cardiologist to make sure my heart is working properly. She has also decided to lower my dosage back to 5 mg. I am hoping this change helps because so far, my type 2 diabetes is under control, and my sugars have been fantastic!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "Currently on 750 Mounjaro. 2nd injection on Wednesday, had a 17-hour episode of vomiting and diarrhea on Sunday afternoon into Monday morning. I did not take the 3rd injection the following Wednesday. By Friday, I had the hungry horrors and joint pain in my hips and knees. Weight loss about 25 lbs, and my A1C only came down from 7.5 to 7.1 in the 5 months I’ve been on Mounjaro. If you take these meds, please listen to your body and the way it reacts to these meds."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Had to stop taking after 7 weeks of use. Total loss of appetite, very weak. When I try to eat, cannot do it due to gagging. The smell of foods upsets my stomach. Getting scary now, haven't used Mounjaro for 2 1/2 weeks and no improvement. No energy at all, hard to function."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Makes me feel full faster and longer, but with reflux. Sometimes I am still full from yesterday if I eat. It turns to nausea, then vomiting, with epigastric burning and abdominal pain lasting 15 minutes to 45 minutes. Even with Zofran and whatever else I can take. Then I can't sleep, of course, so I'm up till 4:00 or 5:00 AM. I have lost weight on the 10 mg under the doctors' and nurse practitioners' diabetic care. Then I can go a week or two weeks without any negative symptoms at all."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started taking Mounjaro for weight loss. I had no side effects on 2.5 mg and 5 mg. Weight loss was consistent at 1 kg per week. On 2.5 mg I still had an appetite and had no trouble eating moderately. On 5 mg I began to experience total loss of appetite. On W1 of 7.5 mg I awoke with extreme nausea, but other than that I was okay. On W2 of 7.5 mg I got very ill. I took the injection on Tuesday. By Wednesday night I vomited once. On Thursday, I started feeling nauseous with an egg-like aftertaste. By evening I was suffering from extreme diarrhea - every 20 to 30 minutes through the night. My stomach sounded full of sloshing water and gas and periodic large burps. On Friday I felt very dehydrated. I stayed in bed, sipped only water and diarrhea subsided. On Saturday I ate breakfast and a small amount of food for lunch. Saturday night diarrhea and vomiting again. It’s now Sunday and I feel weak and will not be taking 7.5 mg again. I will take a rest for a week before decreasing the dose to 5 mg to see how I go."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I've been on Rybelsus, Trulicity, and Ozempic with minimal results both on A1C and weight loss, and lots of stomach issues. Presently on Mounjaro 10 mg for the past year, having gradually increased dosage along the way. Side effects are constipation, and approximately every three weeks I'll have an episode of stomach pain, sulfur burps, and vomiting. It's usually in the middle of the night, throwing up dinner and anything else eaten that day, sitting on my stomach all day. Vomiting, severe sweating, chills. After that, it passes, and I feel perfectly fine until weeks later it happens again. I can tolerate this side effect, and A1C is much better."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Had my first dose yesterday, 3/12/23, and today I have intense nausea, and it feels like a rock in my gut. I also have a prescription for an anti-nausea med, which I am not sure is working since I feel like throwing up. It did lower my BGM pretty well. I had previously tried Ozempic with horrible side effects of nausea and vomiting. I lasted the first week, so one dose. I do like the way Mounjaro is administered. I don't think the Ozempic was quite like that."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have had to stop. Cannot eat, close to vomiting, have lost 30 pounds. Dr. advised to stop, but I had already stopped 2 weeks ago as unable to eat. I was afraid to start the next box I had received. I am so weak I can barely walk. I do use a rollator to help me walk, but in the house I can hold onto furniture to help my balance."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "This medicine has made me so sick. I will never take it again. I have not eaten in over five days. I am so weak, I feel like my blood sugar is low. I am not a diabetic, I only wanted to lose a few pounds. I have been sick, nauseous, vomiting, fatigue, diarrhea. Until I got everything out of my belly, my belly felt full, even when I did not eat. Constant belching. My food does not taste good. I am miserable. I’m sure it has great benefits. My other family members took it, as for me, whom is diabetic, extremely curvy, but just wanted to lose excess belly fat. I probably should’ve just gone to the gym, exercised more, or even worn a waist trainer. To me, in my opinion, it’s not worth it."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been using this wonderful drug for my type 2 diabetes since 2021, and before starting this medication program, my A1C was 8.7, my blood sugar levels were 300-400, I was getting diabetic cysts, and my weight was 250 lbs. My health was deteriorating, and I was told by my doctors that I was morbidly obese. Then my endocrinologist prescribed Mounjaro. At first, I vomited a lot during the week, but now I’ve been on it for 3 years, and I just hope my insurance continues to cover this medication for me because I feel like it has saved my life. I’m now 173 lbs, and my A1C is 5.9. I’m now on the higher dose, 10 mg injection, and sometimes have to go to a smaller dose when it goes on back order because of shortage. I use this once-a-week injection."
