For Tinea Pedis "I was prescribed terbinafine for moccasin-type tinea pedis. I took one single pill and woke up the next day without a sense of taste. I am a chef. This drug has the potential to destroy my life, my livelihood, and my greatest source of happiness. My sense of taste has not yet returned, which terrifies me. I also proceeded to poop my guts out with the most painful diarrhea since having food poisoning a decade ago. I was sobbing on the toilet. DO NOT RECOMMEND. I have no idea how a drug this awful is allowed to remain on the market."

Terbinafine for Onychomycosis, Toenail "Two days after starting the first dose, I developed the worst headache of my life, followed by diarrhea, then bloating, very gassy, and nausea. I immediately quit the medication, but bloating on an empty stomach, shortness of breath, and itching has lasted. It is now a week after I quit the medication. I can’t give a -100, but I wish I could. This drug is not worth the risk."

Terbinafine for Onychomycosis, Toenail "Took Lamisil for 4 days. I'm stopping it immediately as I had diarrhea from the second day of use. Awful pill, instead of fixing a health issue, it brings you more issues. I can't wait for it to get out of my system, probably diarrhea will persist until then. I want nothing to do with this drug. Also took two sets of antibiotics and have used Fucidin, and the swelling persists. My nail hasn't grown the tiniest bit in four whole months. I don't know what to do, and I did not go to my doctor's appointment because all of these pills that they have recommended haven't helped me at all. I'm done and frustrated."

For Onychomycosis, Toenail "I am a 64-year-old female who has had a toenail infection for over 15 years. I was so tired of it and ready to try anything. My side effects have been severe. I took the tablets for 42 days, 250 mg each day. I didn't feel anything until one of the last days. I woke up with a metal taste in my mouth. It is now 5 weeks and one day since I stopped taking the drug. I have lost 6 kg due to nausea, it is relentless. I can eat hardly anything, corn chips are okay, cornflakes, etc. Carbohydrates taste like something rotten. I have diarrhea, I try to rehydrate as much as I can but ended up in emergency. I fainted mostly due to dehydration and loss of potassium. I drink a Gatorade a day to try not to go back to the hospital. I have read reviews with people having side effects, and they say it takes between 6-8 weeks to get the taste back. I have also heard of people getting depressed, luckily I have a very supportive family, so I don't have that."

For Onychomycosis, Toenail "I'm a 19-year-old female, and I have been on this drug for mild toenail fungus for 3 days. I’m on a dose for only 45 days because of how mild the fungus is. I have already experienced nausea, rapid heartbeat, trouble sleeping, sore throat, headache, stomach cramping, diarrhea, and vaginal bleeding. I called my doctor and left a message at the nurses' station explaining my symptoms. Haven’t heard anything back, so I am going to stop taking this medication until they get back to me. I feel like this many side effects are not worth it. I don’t know what else to use. Not a good experience right away."

For Onychomycosis, Fingernail "Started taking the pills as recommended by the doctor about 2 months ago. The first week of taking them, I didn't really feel any side effects, but as time passed, I started getting stomach aches and feeling nauseous. After two months of taking them as recommended, I had to go to the emergency room for an anxiety attack, which then became discomfort in my chest, hard breathing, really bad anxiety, and cold sweats, feeling like I had a fever almost. Also another side effect was the dark urine and diarrhea. After leaving the emergency room, they told me that everything checked out, there were no issues other than the anxiety I was feeling. Honestly, it has gotten my nails better, but there are more natural ways of taking care of fungal infections on hand and nail, and way better for you. If I would have known that ahead of time, I would have never taken this medication in the first place."

For Onychomycosis, Toenail "After several years of having fungal nails, I finally decided to go to the doctor and find a treatment. My doctor recommended terbinafine pills back in August of 2020. She mentioned taking them for 3 months, but I only ended up taking them for 2 since my pharmacy didn’t want to give me a refill. I noticed a change in my nails only a few days after taking these pills. It’s a long road to recovery, they are still not fully healed, but the improvement has been tremendous! After reading some of the comments on here, I never really thought of side effects I had, however, one comment mentioned a ring in their ear, and I had that for a couple of nights. I also had abdominal pain and diarrhea, but not 100% sure it was from the medication. I only rate this 8/10 because I’m waiting on full results."

For Onychomycosis, Toenail "I was on this medication in 2014 and stopped after 3 months, with severe stomach problems and diarrhea. Advised the doctor of these issues this time around, but he still prescribed me Terbinafine 250 mg tablets. I took them for approximately 10 days and had severe itching in my urethra that made me think I had an STD. Arranged to visit a clinic, but by day 16 I broke out in a serious rash on my lower back. By day 19, this rash had rapidly spread over most of my body. Antihistamines totally useless and the itching is driving me mad. I have stopped it for 6 days, but the rash continues to spread and there is no improvement with the rash. Different types of rash and lesions too. Also felt chronically tired. No liver tests or blood tests carried out by the doctor. May have to see a dermatologist. This might be a great medicine, but if you experience side effects like mine, you'll wish you had never heard of Terbinafine. The side effects are severe and not worth it."

Terbinafine for Onychomycosis, Toenail "I started taking this drug because one toenail was very thick and yellow. I started having diarrhea almost immediately, and it continued until I stopped the drug after a month of use. Now none of my toenails on that foot are growing, they just completely stopped. The drug is awful, my ear has been plugged since I started the drug, and 3 months later, it is still plugged."
