"I have relied upon lidocaine patches for years to help with fibromyalgia pain, pain from many injuries, fascia pain, and more. I have used Actavis Lab 5% patches but found that they sometimes move, curl, and crinkle up, thus delivering less medicine to the pain site. I have had much better success with MYLAN 5% lidocaine pain patches. However, my pharmacy states that they are becoming difficult to find from their suppliers. If you can locate them, try them, and you should find much more effectiveness from MYLAN brand patches."

"These are absolutely the worst patches I have ever used. It seems every pharmacy is purchasing now! Goopy, non-sticking mess. I can't even get it on most of the time as it sticks to itself, but so gooey it slides off of me. Terrible product..."

"They made my hands and arms jerk and hands uncontrollable while trying to sleep. This side effect had me feeling so awful, I have never in my life been through that kind of experience. The patch stuck okay, but the side effect drove me crazy for over 4 hours. I'll never use a lidocaine patch again, are these the same as lidodurm patches? Because I used lidodurm patches years ago and they never gave me any problems? Has anyone had this side effect? Man, it is a very ugly feeling, I could not stop my hands and arms from jumping side to side of my body. I turned all kinds of ways in bed late at night till 5 am, and it slowly went away after about 6 hours, and then I had control of my hands and arms, that's all I have to say about these patches. J D."

"For pain relief, I give lidocaine patch a 10. Relief from pain in two minutes! I have pain from cervical and lumbar spine injuries, Actavis lidocaine patch 5%. Extremely aggravating and stressful to stay attached to the skin. I finally bought athletic sweat tape. I got it at Walgreens. The pharmacist told me it was the same kind of tape that football players use to tape their fingers when preparing for a game. I put the patch on my back, then cut a 10” strip of tape, then while watching from behind in a mirror, put the first piece of tape across the top of the patch, a second piece of tape across the middle, and a third piece of tape across the bottom. It will hold most of the day but can begin to curl because of movement and clothing. Anyway, when I’m finished with this prescription, my pain management doctor recommended I go to one of the dollar stores. They have over-the-counter patches of lidocaine that work great. They are inexpensive, I won't need a prescription, and they won’t irritate the skin or have a sticking problem."

"Lidocaine and steroids used for shoulder pain. After 45 minutes, I reacted in the same way as my nut allergy. Took 20 mg antihistamine as advised by GP. Started to get worse. Rushed to surgery where GP was waiting for me, started to speak, and collapsed. Thought I was dying. My lovely doctor (retired now) used the EpiPen. Two ambulances arrived. Admitted to A and E with anaphylactic episode. Still uncertain whether it was the LA or the steroids. My GP felt it could well have been the LA. Am on the alert now for ANY LA! On a positive note, my shoulder pain is just a memory."

Lidocaine topical "I used to use the brand name Lidoderm lidocaine patches. At the time, my insurance covered them. This brand, if no insurance, is well over $300. OTCs never work. My current insurance doesn't cover them, but I decided to look through Amazon Pharmacy. I found 5% patches, generic name Lidocaine patch 5%, shocking they were only $50, which beats the Lidocaine patch with GoodRx. I haven't used the patches for years because of money. So, I thought I'd give them a try. Interesting that the box itself and the individual patch packages are almost identical to the brand name Lidoderm. I like to say I'm very happy with these new patches. I have not had one issue with them not sticking or curling, which basically comes from loose edges being rolled under a garment. Not sure if the people who scored very low in the reviews read the directions. Obviously, your skin needs to be dry and clean. Personally, if I was wearing a garment that's close to the skin, I'd use medical tape to tack each corner down, just my opinion."

Lidocaine topical "I have burning neuropathic pain in one foot. The only way I can sleep at night is to put a patch on that one foot and then very carefully put a sock on to hold the patch in place. I don’t walk on it because it will slide out of place. It gives me enough relief to at least get some sleep."

"The biggest problem that I have experienced with these patches is that they refuse to adhere to the affected area. They are thinner than many other patches. That may be the problem. If they will not stay on, they cannot be effective."

"It doesn't get any better than this. It has stopped a barely visible blister from making it to the surface. It is an obvious instant 'kill' on a well-formed blister because the fluid turns it into a blood blister, and the healing is done in half the time. The only complaint is that I had to use a cotton swab, and it took 12 to 24 hours for obvious results. I have a blister now, and I have searched high and low for some in my area. How is it that no major chain can have this medicine in my area?"

"My wife got these lidocaine patches for her torn shoulder tendon after working as a nurse for 40 years, as a trial from her doctor. Gave her the first full night's sleep in 10 years, after having opiates for those 10 years and only getting 4 hours of sleep using them. Suggested I try them for my prolapsed L4, L5, S1, and S2 discs and also for sciatic pain in my upper and lower back, and tops of my feet due to a helicopter accident here in Australia 24 years ago. I had averaged 4 hours of sleep per night, just surviving on opiates. Well, the 4% patches work, 30 full nights of sleep for the last month. We get 50 patches per packet for $6 AU. The size of these cotton-style patches is only 3 inches square, as these are test packs. Normal packs are 24 patches x 5 inches x 5 inches, for $8 AU per pack over the counter. They are chemist-owned brands. I virtually have had no side effects except for itchiness, so has my wife. Don't think we need the 5% patches from the doctor. Plus, they stick on and stay on."
