For Emergency Contraception "I took this pill on Feb 4th after unprotected sex with my fiancé. Like 2 days after, I started to bleed a little, it did not seem like my regular menstruation. Today is my day 50 of my cycle, my cycle usually lasts around 25 days. Last time I got my period was on Feb 1st. I've had cramps, nausea, and breast tenderness. I did a blood pregnancy test yesterday, and it was negative. However, I haven't gotten my period yet. A lot of side effects. I took Plan B in the past and got my period even before the date, CVS ran out of them. I just want my period to get back to normal and am not planning on taking any emergency pill in the future. It worked in the end because I'm not pregnant, but my cycle is messed up."

For Emergency Contraception "Well, we all know accidents happen, and one night my boyfriend accidentally came inside me. I freaked out because it was one week after my period ended. I took the pill the next night, less than 24 hours later. I felt super bloated for 2 weeks straight. Back pain and nausea, it was the longest 2 weeks of my life! I was convinced I was preggo, then my period came a day early. I've never been so relieved in my life. I've taken Plan B before and never had any side effects, but my first with Aftera had lots of bad side effects."

For Emergency Contraception "I was going nuts! For over two weeks after I had unexpected sex with a friend. I know all bad, but we were drunk. Anyways, I got Aftera 3 hours later, and I experienced the worst: nauseous. My boobs were super sore. I had headaches and cramps for over 10 days! It was the first day of my fertile days, so I was going nuts since I read online it was not effective! I was so scared and worried for a week, googling stuff and whatnot. Lol, close to taking a pregnancy test, but in my case, it did! I got my period a week before the expected date. I was so happy, yet my period was kind of heavy with spotting after days. I promised myself to never do this again. It does work, ladies! But don't risk it next time! Stay positive and try to take it as soon as possible! For me, it worked even on my fertile days, but you never know!"

For Emergency Contraception "So I’m unaware of what’s going on with my body. I got this Flo app to keep track of my period. I realized it said I had ovulated on 2/7, that day I had unprotected sex with my partner. We have enough kids as it is, lol, so we, of course, went that route to get a morning-after pill. I picked up the Aftera on 2/9, figured I’d be safe in the 72-hour mark. So later on that evening, I started getting cramps and felt nauseous. It’s now 2/10, cramps are still going, very annoying. Now I don’t believe this ovulation chart can really know when I’m ovulating, but if it's true and I had intercourse when I ovulated and took the pill 2 days after, am I safe?! These cramps suck, I’m assuming it’s the pill working and if so, thank goodness, but WTH?! Ugh, any advice?"

For Emergency Contraception "I took this pill on Sept. 1 after unprotected sex on Aug. 31. I was mildly nauseous and extremely irritable and felt weird. Then got my period as expected, and it was pretty light. Well, I just had my second cycle after all of this, and it was VERY heavy, not normal, and I have been a mess for 2 weeks. The pill worked but definitely messed up my cycle. I hope the next one will be better. I can't complain though because I'm not pregnant, so at the end of the day, it worked, and that's all I care about. But in my opinion, all of this wasn't worth it. I'll be more careful going forward."

For Emergency Contraception "Took the pill after a weekend without BC. Unprotected sex was on days 5, 6, and 7 of my cycle. I took the pill on day 7. I am 42 years old. I did not get my next period until nine weeks later. I did not experience cramping, nausea, or headaches."

For Emergency Contraception "Okay, this is my first time ever taking a pill like this, but I took this pill a day after my last period in May. I took it, I think, an hour after what I thought was protected sex, but the condom came off inside me, so we were just both scared. Four days later, I started bleeding again for four days in May, and I’ve been experiencing a lightly bloated stomach, a little nauseous, and I've been having to pee a little more. It’s now June, and my period is nine days late, and I’m nervous and don’t know what to do. Has anyone else experienced something like this before?"

For Emergency Contraception "My period ended on day 5 of my cycle, and later that night there was a condom mishap. I bought and took Aftera roughly 15 hours after unprotected sex. The first few hours I was fine. Later that night I was getting cramps, both menstrual feeling and stomach cramps. My stomach has been upset thus far, I am now on day 3. The feeling is similar to the period poops you get but slightly worse. The menstrual cramps were quite light. That night I also got very dizzy and lightheaded to the point where I didn’t walk straight. This morning I woke up throughout the night with leg cramps and just strong leg weakness and nausea. Thus far, this is my experience. I will keep updated if it does or doesn’t work."

For Emergency Contraception "Condom broke on Nov 18. Took Aftera in the morning as soon as I woke up. I was expecting my period at the beginning of December, and my period turned out to be 3 weeks late. I was convinced I was pregnant. Had all the symptoms. I could smell everything from a mile away, boobs were sore, cramps, everything made me cry, and nausea. Be patient and try not to stress. The pill will delay your period and your ovulation cycle."

For Emergency Contraception "I promised myself that if it worked, I would come back and write a review since these reviews kept me sane while waiting. Thankfully, it did, and I'm not pregnant. I had unprotected sex the day after my ovulation day. I freaked out and bought an Aftera about 5 hours later and took it immediately. The side effects can best be described as intense pre-menstrual symptoms. My breasts were swollen and extremely sore for 2 weeks until my period. I had nausea, fatigue, but not much discharge. My period came right when it was supposed to, and was paired with heavy bleeding for five days. I'm writing this to reassure many other women going through this. The side effects are similar to pregnancy symptoms, but that only means it's working. The side effects can be annoying and inconvenient, but in the end, the pill works, and I'm sure many prefer this over a child. I hope all women reading this not only feel better knowing others have gone through what you are, but also that your period comes!!"

For Emergency Contraception "Let me start off by saying I had to take this pill because CVS was all out of Plan B. I used this pill 2 days before my period calendar said I should have ovulated. I have used Plan B multiple times and have never had such severe side effects as I had with this particular brand. I experienced extremely sore and swollen breasts/nipples, cramps, extreme nausea, food aversion, smell sensitivity, vivid dreams, and insomnia. These side effects were so bad that I was convinced that the pill had failed and I was pregnant. The side effects lasted almost the full 2 weeks up until my period started. My period arrived only one day early, so hopefully my cycle isn’t thrown off. The pill worked, though, and I suppose 2 weeks of side effects is better than 10 months of pregnancy, labor, and a baby."

For Emergency Contraception "My doctor put me on a new birth control pill, and after 3.5 months, I started getting some very adverse side effects, so I stopped taking it. She called in a BC that I had been on before. That night, my husband and I had an oops moment, and he didn't realize I was not on any BC. It was 4 days after my period had ended. But my period had come twice in 2.5 weeks because of stopping that other BC. The next day, we went to CVS and I got the Aftera pill since it has the same active ingredients as Plan B only cheaper. It was probably about 18 hours after the unprotected sex that I took it. I felt a little nauseous, but I think that was because I had read about other experiences. One week later, I got the worst sore breast pains. I was not expecting that but found reviews on here that talked about it. That lasted for 4 days and was the worst part of it. I took a pregnancy test, and it was negative. Today marks 2 weeks after I took Aftera, and I got my period yesterday."

For Emergency Contraception "I took Aftera just 2 hours after unprotected sex. Now, 25 days later, my period is late, I'm nauseous with two positive pregnancy tests. Wow. Not worth it. Please use Plan B instead of this. I had no symptoms after taking this (as compared to the cramping and whatnot from Plan B.) Aftera probably packs their packages with sugar pills. What a terrible situation to be in."

For Emergency Contraception "My boyfriend and I were curious to see how it felt when he cums inside of me. Crazy in the moment decision! After he came in me, we finished, cleaned up, and went to CVS literally not even 20 minutes after he did it in me, I took Aftera. They were out of Plan B. I’m kinda freaking out a little bit, but after reading all the reviews I’m kinda not as nervous. I feel like all the side effects are hitting me though, my boobs right now are in so much pain, and I've been feeling tired and nauseous, and I’ve also had a lot of discharge that’s white and creamy. Literally all the same signs of pregnancy."

For Emergency Contraception "My boyfriend and I were being a little reckless on New Year's. We got this pill the day after being unsure of which emergency contraceptive to buy. I had horrible side effects with bad abdominal pain and nausea, but I waited it out. I got my period the first week in January, then again the last week of January (my usual time of the month). I read the symptoms online that your period may be irregular, so I didn’t think anything of it at the time. My condition started to get worse. I was starting to have extreme abdominal pain where I couldn’t even move. I went to the hospital on February 19th to find out that I’m pregnant. Aftera might work for some people, but it didn’t work for me. Practice safer sex. The side effects for me were awful, and I wouldn’t recommend, but everyone’s experience is different."
