For Human Papilloma Virus "I used Aldara for 4 weeks seven months ago, and I'm very happy to report that the warts have NOT returned! The package only had enough for 4 weeks, and I was worried it wouldn't be enough, but they disappeared completely. The skin was red and very itchy during that time, but nothing unbearable at all. It's important that you only spread the cream directly on the warts. I was absolutely shocked when I discovered I had HPV, I thought my life was over. Or at least my sex life. When I went to see a proper gynecologist, however, they made it very clear that HPV is NOT permanent, and they don't usually even test under 25-year-olds because the result is usually positive, and about 90% of women get it at some point. Your body will attack the virus naturally and defeat it. If you're reading this, just hang in there, I know it feels absolutely horrible, but it turns out I was way more stressed about it than needed. And remember, it WILL get better, it's not forever!! You will get through it for sure."

For Basal Cell Carcinoma "I had a BCC on my ear, and had it treated with radiotherapy. It came back. I then had it cut out with a skin graft. It came back. I then treated it with Aldara, but for not as long as recommended, and that worked for about 6 months, but it returned about a year ago. The Dr. indicated that the next step was surgery to remove part of my ear. I gave it another good dose for the full recommended term with Aldara, and it's been clear since then. I believe I should have used Aldara from the start, and avoided radiotherapy and an operation, plus a lot of cost. I've had no side effects, and have used it on other BCC with no problems."

For Human Papilloma Virus "Been using Aldara for almost 4 months, started in early January. Had only 4 warts total under foreskin near the penis head (uncircumcised). 2 went away within the first 2 weeks, but 2 stubborn small ones stayed for an extra 3 weeks. Never had any weird symptoms or side effects. Was feeling happy again finally, but then 2 weeks after I stopped treatment, they all came back. I was devastated. This time they took about 6-7 weeks to disappear. Again, no side effects. Didn’t get my hopes up this time, been checking every day multiple times and now they are back again :( but this time I caught them when they were very tiny dots, so 2 have disappeared after just 2 applications. Hoping the other 2 go away in the next couple of days as well. This has really ruined my life... I see stories of people getting rid of them forever, so I’m still hopeful. Praying this to be the last time I have to use Aldara and they don’t come back ever again."

For Human Papilloma Virus "I was prescribed Aldara for internal GW. When I finally found a doctor to acknowledge that they existed internally, they were bad. They almost looked like fingers. I say this to make the point that I had a serious case of them. I was put on Aldara for three times a week until 16 weeks. This was the most painful experience I have ever had in my life. I cried in pain for the first several weeks. The itching was almost unbearable in and of itself. I also got very severe ulcers around the treatment site. I found it helpful to take an allergy pill for the itching and melatonin to help me sleep with the pain. All that being said, after 16 weeks, my GW problem was 90 percent gone. I was given another month's worth for the last remaining few."

For Human Papilloma Virus "Day four of using Aldara on my genital area. I have over 20 genital warts (GW) scattered all over my vagina and a few in the entrance of my vagina (size of a pinky fingernail). I've used Aldara every day, and this is my fourth day. I started getting side effects on the third day (burning, itching, white vaginal discharge, and painful urination). I have a pretty good pain threshold, hence why I’m using it every day. I noticed today that one GW is getting smaller, which was the biggest one on my left labia entrance. I hope this works and will keep you updated."

For Basal Cell Carcinoma "I started using the Aldara cream on the 29th of June after being diagnosed with a basal cell carcinoma on my nose. It’s now been 5 weeks of use, and the area is sore, red, crusty, and oozing, which is exactly what should be happening. I still have another week of use, but so far my doctor has been happy with my progress and said that the worse the area of the cancer cells looks after use, the better."

For Human Papilloma Virus "I've been using Aldara for just over 3 weeks now. I had genital and anal warts all over. They were in clusters and stuck together. But just after week 1, I could tell a difference. Now I only have a few left, but you can barely see them. I'm going for a check-up tomorrow, but I think I might need some more just to get rid of the extra marks. However, I would definitely recommend this to anyone with genital warts! It's not a quick fix, but you have to be patient with it. It WILL work, and if you are experiencing pain, blisters, or swelling, it means the cream is working as it's the cells dying to get rid of the wart. So the more pain you're in, the better, as bad as it sounds. I went through pain, blisters, and itching in the first and second week. Not so much now, as they are nearly gone."

For Basal Cell Carcinoma "My basal cell had recurred after surgical removal. Another removal would have resulted in extensive plastic surgery. The Aldara had no visible effect until the second week. By the fifth week, the area looked horrible, and I became concerned. Nevertheless, I continued application, and by week eight, I was looking in the mirror at new, fresh, pink skin. Wonderful! Based upon my experience, I think it is generally correct to believe that if there is one basal cell area, the entire face is damaged, even though it is not visible. Therefore, I would recommend using the cream only on the limited, visible lesion. Otherwise, the area of lesions will be large and scary."

For Human Papilloma Virus "The cream worked amazingly! My warts cleared away within 2 weeks of using the cream. The skin where the warts were is now smooth and wart-free. However, it was incredibly painful, the cream causes severe skin reactions. For me, I developed sores and blisters on my vagina after the first week. When I peed, it felt like my skin was on fire because it made contact with the blisters. I found I couldn't sit or walk without being in agony. However, I persisted, and by the end of the week, it was clear. Some tips! -Aloe vera is your best friend. Apply it as often as you can because it will help with the blisters and irritated skin. -When peeing, take a glass of cold water and pour it at the same time, or squirt bottled water. This really helps with the burning and stinging. Also, apply aloe vera after peeing. -DON'T apply too much cream or leave it on for more than 10 hours. I think lathering the cream on didn't help the severe reactions I was having."

For Human Papilloma Virus "Female, age 53, after an operation to remove the bad cells, I have been prescribed Aldara cream to use 3 times a week. I actually feel like I’m being tortured, the burning and stinging are unbearable in such a sensitive place. It’s making me feel terrible. I have got to use this for 16 weeks for VIN3, and I am going back to my specialist on Thursday. Anyone have any suggestions for what I can do? x."

For Human Papilloma Virus "I got prescribed Aldara by my local sexual health clinic to treat genital warts. I thought my warts were the end of the world until I used Aldara. After applying the cream twice (as directed, only on the warts and every other night, washing it off in the morning), boy, did I regret my life choices. My entire vagina swelled up the following day, and ulcer-type sores appeared everywhere in that area. I couldn’t move without being in excruciating pain, and I almost passed out every time I peed. I ended up in the hospital on a 7-day course of antibiotics, as well as dihydrocodiene to manage the pain. Stay away from this cream - it should not be prescribed!!! After doing extensive reading online about Aldara, I quickly realized that so many people had been through the same as me. The warts eventually go away on their own, or there are other treatments such as freezing them off. Please, please stay away from this cream."

For Keratosis "Was involved in a clinical trial for Aldara 3.75% three years ago. Documented 51 actinic keratosis lesions on face and forehead. Two treatments, six weeks in between. Severe reaction occurred on the first round, including flu-like symptoms. Also had less reaction on the second treatment. Follow-up exam found no actinic keratosis sites. One year follow-up documented no recurrence! I'm a fan! This is a miracle cure!"

For Basal Cell Carcinoma "I used this on a persistent basal cell carcinoma, in the center of my forehead, which never healed and bled at times. On application, nothing happened much for a week, but then my face erupted right across my forehead, large red blotches that turned to blisters. I used it for three weeks instead of six weeks as recommended. I went to my doctor, who said to stop using it. The scabs soon cleared, and after a short while, my skin was clear and back to normal. Was it worth it? Most definitely, no carcinoma. In the UK, it's a prescription drug and only available through a doctor, and paid for by our NHS, so I don't know the cost."

For Basal Cell Carcinoma "Itchy, sore to touch, don't sleep well the nights it's applied. This is my second treat for BCC, the first with Aldara got infected and subsequently scarred. All BCC were on the chest area. The first is completely gone. The second, I'm 3 weeks through a 4-week treatment. Can't wait to be finished, although end results are acceptable for the pain and irritation that you go through."

For Condylomata Acuminata "This works well. It takes time, but if you follow the instructions precisely, the warts get smaller and smaller until they're gone. No scar, no freezing or drying, no acid. The warts just shrink until they're gone. Fewer side effects than Condylox. It does not affect healthy skin like Condylox does."

For Human Papilloma Virus "I got HPV despite having safe sex from an erotic massage place. The sample analysis resulted in HPV 16 and 56, which are both high risk. The doctor removed them by cauterization - a horrible process. A year later, I realized I still have a couple of small points. I used Aldiq, which is basically another brand of Aldara made in Italy, and it had great results. With one box - 3 times a week, they almost disappeared. I became a bit obsessed with this, and now I'm checking my penis with a magnifying glass and noticed that there is a little bit of affected tissue which is healing very slowly. Aldara basically made the first layer of the skin dry, and I think it's forcing the area to regenerate. I gave it a 9. Important - I used it Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in the evening after a shower and after I've let my body cool down. I think it's important for the affected area to be inspected with a magnifying glass, which some dermatologists have. Hang in there. It will take some time, but we'll get over it :)"

For Basal Cell Carcinoma "Second time on Aldara. The first time I used it on my right temple, nose, and my face. I was covered in red blotches, like scalds, but I don't remember any severe reactions. I can't seem to remember it hurting, and it was worth it. It cleared the persistent and sore BCC on my nose and temple. I now have another BCC on my forehead which has been persistent and shown no sign of healing and has bled at times. My GP/doctor has prescribed a course of Aldara, and this time I have a much worse reaction. One side of my face has come with very red, swollen spots, blistering, and I have flu-like symptoms. But I am sure it will be worth it."

For Human Papilloma Virus "I had a GW 12 days ago, at first, it's small, flat, white warts. So, my OB prescribed me Aldara 3-5 times a day for 10 days and some antibiotics 2 times a day for 10 days. On the 4th day of my application, I felt burning and redness down there until 2 small blisters showed up between the small warts. I also felt side effects similar to the other experience, a fever-like feeling. On the 8th day, the small white wart vanished, but the 2 small blisters still remain. I’m totally freaking out. On the 9th day, 1 blister got bigger and turned out to be white, as well as the other small blister. On the 10th day, when I visited my doctor, she told me to stop the cream and prescribed me multivitamins. She told me to get surgery or burn the warts when I decide. On the 11th day, I stopped using Aldara, but the two white blisters are still there. And still, my V is swollen. I don't know what to do anymore. Will this white blister still go away because I stopped using Aldara already? Any same case as mine? Need help."

For Basal Cell Carcinoma "I treated several areas of my face with Aldara in 2007. My reaction was so severe after 10 days of use that my dermatologist advised me to discontinue the use. I thought I broke my metacarpal, trapezoid, and trapezium. It was swollen and I had such pain I could not even hold a pen. Of course, it had to be my right thumb, and I am right-handed, which is also the hand I applied the cream with. I had an orthopedic friend order an X-ray, which came back as arthritis in those areas. One of the rare side effects, however, I also had fever, chills, malaise, and really ugly inflammation. I have since had to have several lesions surgically removed, involving skin grafts, some removed with the use of liquid nitrogen, and now my dermatologist is recommending I treat them again with Aldara. Not a chance! I will try the Efudex again, however, it did nothing the first time I used it, but that was several years ago, maybe 2000 or earlier."

For Human Papilloma Virus "I had genital warts. I decided to try Aldara and hope for the best. After reading loads of reviews about crazy side effects, I was a bit worried, but my experience has been great. It says to use each sachet only once, but I get at least 3/4 uses out of each. I’ve had no burning and minimal scabbing of the skin, only a slight bit of redness around the affected area. After 2 weeks, the warts began to shrink rapidly and disappeared in the 3rd week! Just ensure you follow the instructions and complete the course (~16 weeks), as I’ve noticed a lot of people have stopped using it once the warts disappear, and then they come back straight away. It cost me £70 for the whole course."

For Molluscum Contagiosum "Had horrific effects from taking this. I'm currently in the process of getting a diagnosis for small fiber neuropathy because of this drug. I was in the best health of my life before I started applying it. Within two days, I had burning sensations all over my body. It caused a systemic reaction. I discontinued immediately, but over two years later, I still get painful burning all over my body. Google Aldara and 'small fiber neuropathy,' and you will see I am not the only one who had this condition triggered by Aldara/imiquimod. This drug is a powerful immunomodulator that triggers multiple types of immune-mediated cells in the body and causes the body to attack itself. People are getting sick from it, and their claims are not being addressed."

For Human Papilloma Virus "I had genital warts on my anus. I was so terrified when I noticed something strange round the back. When I checked through the mirror, there was a small tiny round thing, and I didn't know what it was. I went directly to check on Google what it was, and I got shocked! I have been so depressed knowing that I have genital warts. I went to the dermatologist, and he did cryotherapy, it worked. Around 3 days, my small tiny thing was gone. I had sexual intercourse, and it came back. I didn't tell my dermatologist, but he told me that it may come back, so he prescribed Aldara to me for 3 weeks every other day. And now I'm 2 years wart-free. This product really works. No pain. No hassle."

For Human Papilloma Virus "Always wondered if I would ever get to leave a review on here. After 8 months, I finally stopped using Aldara. To be honest, I don't even know if it was the cream or just time that got rid of the warts. I never had a huge outbreak, but they were stubborn. It started with two bigger ones. They decreased in size after using the cream but never really went away. I ripped most of them off, to be honest. I know how you guys feel. I was severely depressed during this time. Side effects were nonexistent in the beginning, but after some time they were horrible: my skin got so thin that it ripped all the time (I mean huge tears like after giving birth), I've had constant yeast infections and couldn't pee without being in pain (put your hands on the floor while peeing, thank me later). I don't want to scare anyone, but I was fooled by reviews that promised me that it would all be gone after a month. You're normal, not alone, and you will eventually fight it."

For Basal Cell Carcinoma "Easy to apply. The medication journal makes it easy to track usage and clearly defines “break days.” This is week four. Skin is red and irritated, however very bearable and annoying rather than painful. Other side effects are pretty hard to tolerate. Fatigue is beyond belief and at times debilitating, yet unable to sleep. Nausea all the time. Headache at times. Perception seems to be a little distorted. Difficult to tell how much the light-headed feeling is coming from fatigue. Joints ache. A little weight gain. I’m irritable due to unbearable fatigue. Dreams at night are emotionally overwhelming and vivid. The effect of alcohol is extremely magnified. I call these my little bottles of hell. That’s how they make me feel. That said, it seems to be working, and I’m very interested in seeing the results. Given a choice at this stage, excision would be my preference. That might change by the time I finish treatment. However, it would take a lot to endure this again."

For Basal Cell Carcinoma "I had a small dot on my chest and a penny-sized one on my side. The dermatology consultant told me to use Aldara on the two areas but only once daily for five days, then a two-day break. Leave on for 8 hours, then wash off. She then said she would see me in 4 months. I was a bit surprised she didn't want to see me during treatment but thought the Aldara must be good at doing its job. How wrong could I be? Within one week of using it, the rest of my chest erupted into large red sores with lots of little red spots all over it. I didn't know if this was normal, as nothing much was discussed at the appointment. I continued to use the cream, but every day was more and more horrific. The sores were blistering, bleeding, and oozing fluid, not to mention red raw and itchy. By the end of the second week, I could not tolerate any more, so I stopped using it and tried to contact the dermatology department, which wasn't interested unless I had another referral from my doctor."
