Emgality (galcanezumab) "I've been a migraine sufferer for 20 years. I had both hemiplegic and cluster migraine that would I swear cause brain damage. Well I know they did because I have brain lesions on my MRI. Aimovig has been a game changer. I no longer have either. I've been on Aimovig for a year. Terrible constipation but I resolved it with miralax. For those with side effects, I avoid those by taking Aimovig once a quarter instead of once a month. My sister on the other hand takes it twice a month to control her migraines. To each their own."

Emgality (galcanezumab) "I have been taking Emgality for approximately 7-8 months. In the first three months of taking it, I noticed significant weight gain, and I feel bloated. I did not change my diet or take any other medications during that time, and I am generally active. Prior to taking Emgality, my weight was around 135 pounds, and now it's around 155 pounds. Although Emgality has helped with my migraines, I am hesitant to continue taking it due to the weight gain. There are other medications available that may not cause weight gain. I decided to stop taking Emgality last Friday. I am curious about how long it will take for the medication to leave my system and for my weight to return to normal. While some people may prefer to deal with extra weight rather than migraines, I prefer to try a different medication that will not cause weight gain. There are many medications on the market, and I believe it's important to find one that works well for your body."

Emgality (galcanezumab) "I began taking Emgality in January of 2023. I had periods of nearly continuous migraines for months. I had developed migraines years earlier but had only occasional migraines. At some point 6 years ago, they became unbearable and more frequent. I began Emgality and my headaches completely disappeared within 24 hours. I have not had an actual migraine since, and it is 12-29-23. I only use the injections once every 2-3 months, keeping a box in my refrigerator. I sure wish that everyone had my success. I did not want to live anymore. My world had collapsed, and I am also a caregiver to a parent with dementia. That was living in Hell every day. Now, it is simply the hardest thing I have ever done, but I do not have to live in Cluster Headache World. Thank you!"

Emgality (galcanezumab) "10/10 I noticed improvement right away and had been suffering from cluster headaches and migraines for years which were worsening. I had tried Sumatriptan, Verapamil and this has brought me the most relief by far. Surprised by all the negative reviews, I would definitely recommend it."

Emgality (galcanezumab) "Daily Clusters with Migraine. I tried Emgality and first week was great. The second week and third week was living with 24/7 migraine/cluster all over again like I was before I got on preventive medication. Emgality started wearing off on week four and my Clusters and Migraines returned to normal while on my preventive medication. I did not try the second month of Emgality. The scientist are on right track with blocking receptors but the drug is the problem. The neurologist said there is an oral medication taken every other day that block the receptors and I will try that next."

Emgality (galcanezumab) "It worked fine for about a month. The next month it worked for 3 weeks. I’m on the fourth month so far and I’ve had no side effects, however the drug is working less every month. They have prescribed Depakote in conjunction but that’s for migraines and seizures so I’m not sure anything‘s really working. I haven’t tried Aimovig or Ajovy. I have cluster headaches not migraines. Left untreated my headaches (scalp and behind right eye) last about 15-45 total minutes from onset to relief. I have an average of 3 a day. I cannot swear that anything actually works. But I have not experienced the side effects others have."

Emgality (galcanezumab) "I started Emgality when Topiramax did nothing. I take three shots a month and take 120 mg of verapamil in the morning and 240 mg at night. I went from daily cluster headaches to almost none since I started. I take Relpax as soon as I feel one, and it usually knocks it right out."

"I also had good results especially in the beginning of taking this medication. Went from 3 cluster/migraine per week to maybe two a month. However I too have suffered with anxiety, weight gain, weird breathing difficulties (especially in the left nostril) and achy joints. I was on this for about a year and then my insurance didn’t want to cover it so haven’t been on it for 4 or 5 months and I’m thinking it’s a good thing! I’m not going back in it even though I have had some more migraines. The memory challenges alone are too much to deal with (scary). I too hope this will leave my system soon."

"I've suffered from chronic headache and migraine for over 20 years, probably around 20 a month. Tried everything including Botox. Galcanezumab worked amazing for me reducing my headache and migraine to almost zero, it's changed my life completely."

Emgality (galcanezumab) "A miracle. I've suffered with clusters since the age of 13. Went through every drug they threw at me… from ergotamines to codeine. NOTHING worked except ice packs. I've been on Emgality for 8 months and not one cluster. Painless to inject, just swab spot with alcohol. Saved my life."

Emgality (galcanezumab) "Emgality was life-changing with zero side effects for my cluster headaches. I was taking Topamax, which wasn't helping at all. It went from having 7-9 cluster headaches per week to none."

Emgality (galcanezumab) "I was skeptical at first, but Emgality has worked amazingly well for me. I'm a 50 year old male, started getting clusters at the age of 22 and have taken all of the major preventives/abortives through the years. I was able to get off of Verapamil and Lithium when I began Emgality 2 years ago and it's been a godsend for me ever since. Gone are the side effects I had to deal with for so many years, the constant blood work, other meds to combat the side effects of Lithium/Verapamil, and then side effects from those... Sumatriptan injections have also worked very well for me over the years as an abortive."
