For Vaginal Yeast Infection "This week has been incredibly long, but I think the madness is coming to an end. I was given a large dose of amoxicillin for strep, and this was my first yeast infection ever. To anyone in the midst of it right now, please stay strong. I’ve never felt such agony, discomfort, and pain. But there is a light at the end of the tunnel and it’s Diflucan (fluconazole), Nystatin (or any topical antifungal to help the itch), and an ice pack (wrapped in a towel, of course)!! The fluconazole takes time. It gets worse before it gets better, but I’m here now to say it definitely gets better, so hang in there!! I’m not 100% back to normal, but I think I’m on my way."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I've had the yeast infection from hell. Finally, I went to the doctor and got Diflucan. I am on my second pill with a 7-day regimen. Almost no itching, and I'm starting to feel so much better! Also, a little tip: Orajel has worked much better for the itching and pain than anything meant for the vagina. My doctor recommended this. Who knew? :)"

Fluconazole for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have taken this medication before, so not sure if something with my body chemistry changed or this medication composition has changed. My experience was a severe allergic reaction causing swelling to my face and lips, with blistering and sores inside my mouth that were extremely painful. I was given a steroid shot and high dosages of prednisone. On day 5, the swelling has just started to go down, but the sores inside my mouth and the scabs on my lips are horrible. I will not take this medication again."

Fluconazole for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I got one Diflucan pill to take, which I thought at first was a waste of money, but it works GREAT. The discharge and smell changed after 1 day! There were no side effects, no headaches, nausea, pain, etc. Highly recommend!"

Fluconazole for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I took Diflucan for a yeast infection on a Friday around 8 PM, at about 10 PM, my lips started to tingle. I went to bed and woke up at 2 am to find my lips severely swollen with a rash around them. Today is Monday, and my lips are burning, dry, and still swollen. I am now getting sores inside of my mouth from the Diflucan. My yeast infection has cleared up, but the pain I am feeling now is horrific. I will NEVER take this pill again."

Fluconazole for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have taken Diflucan for yeast infections for years. I always get the infection after having to take antibiotics for a sinus infection (at least 1x/year). I have never had any issues - until now. Twelve hours after taking the Diflucan, I developed 3 hives - two on my face and one on my thumb. I thought maybe it was from something else or stress, so I ignored it. Big mistake. Had to take a second pill this week, and the hives came back in the exact same places, only worse, and have blistered. I also now have blisters inside my mouth and on my lips. They are extremely painful and are healing, but still there after 6 days. I expect scarring. If you have an allergic reaction to this drug, DO NOT take it again. It only gets worse. Now to figure out what I CAN take, as the yeast infection is still there."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I had a severe bladder infection and a yeast infection at the same time. It was so bad I couldn’t walk, the burning and the pain were unbearable. The doctor prescribed me antibiotics for the UTI and I took Monistat for the yeast infection, but the swelling was so bad I couldn’t even sit. Finally, I called my doctor in bed for Diflucan, and within one hour of taking it, everything started to settle down."

Fluconazole for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I took Diflucan last year, and my vaginal yeast infection cleared up in a day, no allergic reactions. I recently needed to take it again earlier this year, and my upper lip became swollen with a tiny sore/blister on the underside of my lip. The right side of my face was also slightly swollen and numb. The pharmacist didn’t think it was related to Diflucan because I hadn’t had a reaction before. Well, was she wrong! I had to take it again a couple of days ago, and the exact allergic reaction returned (which I realize is most likely a Fixed Drug Eruption). This time, my upper lip is much worse, with a sore in the same spot, and it’s taking longer to disappear. Both times I’ve been taking antihistamines to help. If you experience an allergic reaction after taking Diflucan, think very carefully about taking it again."

For Fungal Infections "Avoid this medicine. I was so naive. I wanted to try a 'real' treatment for my fungal issues and ended up with the most depressed, dysphoric 'life is hell' state I have ever felt in 20 years. Followed with a severe cold + intense coughs + pains + severe chills + headaches + chest soreness + fever + odd taste in mouth. I thought I might even die because it was really starting to hurt a lot during coughing. Day 6 I'm getting a bit better, but still pretty brutal mood. I hope there is no long-term damage from this disgusting pharma drug. I took 50 mg twice. Day 1 not too bad. Day 2 all went downhill."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have been battling chronic vaginal Candida symptoms now for 9 years (pain and burning in the vagina). Over the last few years, I have also developed esophageal Candida and toenail fungus (as well as thrush in the vagina). To cut a long story short, after many specialists and doctors claiming I don't have Candida, I started on a course of Fluconazole 200 mg a day, but it kept flaring back up. I have now increased the dosage to 400 mg a day, and it's working. After many years of dealing with this problem, I have concluded that Fluconazole is fairly ineffective or is not prescribed at a high enough dose or for long enough. With the use of antibiotics, I also believe it's essential that gut health be restored with probiotics, otherwise, recurrent Candida will keep recurring, thus treating the symptoms and not the cause."

Fluconazole for Vaginal Yeast Infection "After taking Diflucan, I experienced blisters on both pinky fingers and toes, as well as the palms and bottoms of my feet. It was painful and uncomfortable, the side effects passed after a couple of days. However, the yeast cleared up instantly. I will NEVER use the product again."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "While traveling from LA to the Philippines, I was hit hard by a yeast infection during my layover in China. It was the worst one yet and very painful, and could not have happened at a worse place and time. Luckily, once I was in the Philippines, I found a pharmacy that carried Diflucan. (Thank God!) My doctor emailed me a Rx. I will NEVER leave home on a trip without this drug again. My vacation was almost ruined. I took the med on an empty stomach. Later, my tummy felt bloated and a little sore, but the feeling went away. That minor discomfort was worth it."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I went to the hospital because I had burning irritation and redness. I was in a lot of pain for 2 days. The doctor said the antibiotics I was on gave me a yeast infection. They had me take two pills at the hospital. It is now the next day, and my symptoms have definitely simmered down. I still have irritation urinating and a little discomfort in general, but I can tell it's working. Phew, thank goodness! This was my first yeast infection ever, and I hope it will be the last."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I went to my gyno. She gave me a prescription for this. I took it at night around 11:45 pm and went home, showered, and went to bed. So I didn't feel any side effects because I was sleeping. No nausea, no dizziness, no pain. This pill is free with my insurance and refills on this for a full year. (Some people say take two, so maybe in a week I will get another.)"

Fluconazole for Candida Urinary Tract Infection "I was prescribed just 2 pills after getting antibiotics for a UTI and an ear infection “just in case.” They were to be taken 7 days apart. The morning after taking 1, I had nearly all the side effects mentioned for this drug. I didn’t read the side effects beforehand and psych myself out. I just wondered why my stomach was so bloated, painful, miserable gas, constant BM, 0 appetite, and worst of all, I had shortness of breath! Then, 24 hours later, I remembered I had taken this the night before and looked up negative side effects. I will not be taking the other pill! If I ever get a true yeast infection, I will use the 1-day ovule that has no side effects! Can’t wait till this leaves my system, which says it stays in your system for several days :("

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I get frequent yeast infections after sex, and this is literally a miracle pill! I don’t understand why it’s not available over the counter, as it works way better than Monistat or any other cream, in my opinion. I get very intense itching, swelling, pain, and soreness in my vaginal area when I have a yeast infection, and this literally takes my symptoms away within 24 hours. Sometimes the itching gets more intense, but the next day it’s gone, and I tend to get white discharge (I assume it’s the yeast coming out?). I then take one more pill 72 hours later, and all my symptoms are gone. Please, please, please try this if you have a yeast infection, it’s honestly amazing, and I haven’t noticed any side effects at all. I need it to become over the counter."

For Candida Urinary Tract Infection "Took 1 pill (150 mg) and a few days later got terrible abdominal pain, testicular pain, headache, and dizziness. Three weeks later, I still have dizziness and minor testicular pain and swelling. The side effects are worse than the original symptoms. I would avoid this drug. It should not be over the counter and should be prescription only."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Well, I figured out I had a yeast infection because I felt very uncomfortable. Two days later I’m like, I feel irritated, not burning, but something ain’t right. I went to my doctor, she did a check-up and told me she didn’t see any lesions, so I was good and I just had a yeast infection. So, she prescribed the pill at 150 mg. Boy, the next 24 hours were the longest, and this is why it isn’t ten stars. When about 18 hours hit, you will feel pain in your vagina - like, okay, I think the medicine is doing its job - but boy, it hurt. Then, I went back to sleep, woke up, and my vagina went back to normal after a day!!!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "GP gave me a six-month supply. The first week, though, I had to take one tablet (150 mg) every two days… then once a month after that for six months. It’s worked completely, the only thing is I have quite moderate pain in my right side under my ribs. It’s been painful for the last two days and very tender when I gently press the affected area in. Is this my liver? And should I be worried? It feels like a stitch that doesn’t go away. I’ve tried looking at the side effects, and this one is mentioned as rare. If I’m still like this tomorrow, I may have to contact my doctor."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I was prescribed 150 mg on day 1 and 150 mg on day 3 for a yeast infection I had had for 3 years. I took 150 mg and instantly broke out into a freezing cold sweat, the worst fatigue, feelings of depression, pain all over my body, tremors and internal body shakes, pains in my legs. This all went on for 48 hours, I just laid there in fatigue and depression. I then felt very well after coming out of that nightmare by day 3, but it was time to take my next one. My yeast infection had all but cleared, but I wanted to make sure it was gone. I was very, very scared taking it and had to talk myself into it. The 2nd round was also fatigue, this time depression more severe. I felt like my whole body felt like a damp house, and I just didn't feel well, but this was less intense, this time with chest pains. It's been 4 days since this has finished, I took the last pill on Thursday at 3 pm. It's now Tuesday of the following week, and I have arm pain down my left arm, chest pain, and I'm in a cold sweat. I'm worried about my heart now."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Would never recommend!! I’ve always taken Canesten for yeast infections, and they work, so I tried this pill, and I’m left with swollen, bruised, and patchy cracked lips. I have hives and welts all over my body, and my entire mouth is sore! AND it didn’t even help my yeast infection one bit, it got itchier!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Had the odd yeast infection, usually after antibiotics or too much beer and sugar. Always taken an oral pill, and easily sorted. In NZ, chemist gave me fluconazole. A few hours after taking it, appetite went, 5 hrs, severe nausea, 10 hrs I woke up and vomited the most disgusting, chemical bile. Spent the next day feeling like I'd been hit by a train. All my joints and limbs were aching, bad headache, no energy at all. Started feeling better the next day as nausea was subsiding, then on day 4 I started bleeding with uterus pain. Fresh blood as period wasn't for another 2 weeks. Day 5, bleeding, still itchy, still sore. Rubbish!!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I was given the oral pill because my partner and I had thrush symptoms. Half an hour after taking it, my penis was burning. Twelve hours later, I am still in too much pain to think about anything else. I have swollen skin and a rash in different parts of my body, and one has grown into a blood blister. I would think twice before giving this to a boyfriend, as there have to be better ways to get rid of thrush. The pain is going down a bit, so I feel a bit better, but it is still very painful. I am drinking water and hoping it will pass soon!!"
