For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I took the metro gel for BV for 14 days, and on the 12th day, I started to get itching and burning, and my doctor prescribed me 2 tablets of fluconazole for a yeast infection. I've had a yeast infection in the past and was told to use Monistat 7, which burned and itched so badly, so this, compared to that, is 100% better. I took my first tablet yesterday and used the applicator from the metro gel to insert plain Greek yogurt up there, and as of now, there is no itching and 95% less discharge! I still have burning, which will hopefully go away soon."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Currently in the midst of my first yeast infection, but after one dose of this drug, I can definitely say it helped me a mile. I still get some occasional itching. However, I am hoping that is a sign it is on its way out, fingers tightly crossed. There seem to be a lot of mixed reviews about this type of treatment too, so we’ll have to see if this drug completely cures the situation between my legs. Nonetheless, I would recommend."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have been suffering from BV and yeast infections ever since I got an IUD (which I removed after a year). I’ve been constantly spotting and changing birth control because nothing seems to stop the bleeding in between periods, BV, and yeast infections. And it’s a triple threat. I get all 3. Last time I took this pill, I took antibiotics for BV first, and it cleared. But this time, I got another yeast infection after sex, and now I'm having clumpy, bloody discharge, and the itching is still there. Waiting to take my second dose and hopefully my symptoms go away, till next month when I have another infection :/"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I am prone to yeast infections during pregnancy. This is my first one for this pregnancy, and it is horrible. I used Vagisil Extra Strength to help with the itchiness. It made my symptoms worse. Usually, I use a 1% hydrocortisone cream. I did get a prescription from my doctor for Diflucan and took it ASAP. No relief yet. Hoping that my body hasn't gotten used to the medicine. If so, I am in for a miserable pregnancy."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I'm 31 and never had a yeast infection. I used a highly scented soap, which created some problems for me. On Monday, the itching was terrible, but it subsided when I used coconut oil. No symptoms on Tuesday. Wednesday, it was terrible! I noticed small amounts of discharge, which made me go to the pharmacy Thursday morning. Took Fluconazole at 8:30 a.m., and all of my symptoms were gone. Felt so good. HOWEVER, the next day, the itching was still there. It comes and goes. The discharge was gone, by the way. Hoping it will be gone soon."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Took fluconazole 150 mg, then took another one 7 days after. Symptoms got better, but the infection didn't go away at all. Still feel the itching and still see discharge 2 weeks after. I have to go see a doctor again for another way to get rid of the yeast infection."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Took Diflucan when I'm pregnant, 26 weeks, and had YI since I'm in my 13th week of pregnancy. After taking 1 tab, the next day all the discharge came out, and it feels so relieved (I think around 80% improved). No itchy inside, no burning sensation outside, I can wear panty with comfort. Yet after 6 days, the symptom seems to come back (starts to feel itchy from inside). Not really sure I should repeat the dosage or not. Still waiting for my obgyn's reply."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "For a couple of weeks, I've had discharge, but the doctors kept telling me it was normal. So after I felt a bit of burning and itchiness, I went back. The doctor looked down there and said everything looked fine, but when she took a sample, it came back as a yeast infection. I tried this pill once, 150 mg one time, and it didn't work for some reason, but now I'm attempting it again."

For Tinea Corporis "I have a colostomy in place and have developed a severe yeast infection around the stoma area. The infection started small and spread to half my stomach. It was extremely painful, hot to the touch, itching, and completely intolerable. I went to the doctor three times, each time the doctor prescribed me ointments and creams that did not work. I also tried the over-the-counter Monistat, which would help for a few minutes, but it would come back with a vengeance. I finally asked the doctor to give me something stronger since the yeast infection was now going on three weeks. They prescribed Fluconazole, and within one hour of taking it, I was 75% better. My itching went away, and all redness and bumps went away. I hope by 24 hours it will be completely gone."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I've had several yeast infections in the past, and I am currently getting over one. Each time the doctor prescribed these pills to cure the yeast infection, it did an amazing job. The same day I took the pill, I had some itching and burning relief and less nasty discharge. I feel a lot better already."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have taken Canesten's fluconazole one-day pill, 150 mg many times before. Now in my late 20s, it seems I have developed an allergic reaction to this drug. I took it two months ago, and it only made my symptoms worse, in addition to sores on my tongue. I didn't think much of it and took it again two days ago to treat another YI. This time, what I experienced last time came back worse, with itching, burning, and rashes in my hands/fingers. Two of my fingers swelled up so bad that I went to the ER to check it out. They didn't seem to believe that I was allergic to the medication and diagnosed me with dactylitis (sausage fingers, lol). But I know my body better and know this was because of the fluconazole, and it seems I'm not the only one. I'm on day two, and the swelling has subsided a bit but has formed into large blisters on my fingers. Itching and redness are still present, my tongue is still sore, and my outer vagina is still irritated. This pill is awful."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I am so, so fed up. I've been having symptoms now for a week. I took one pill last Saturday (it's now Friday), and by Wednesday there was minor improvement, so I took another one (at great expense) on Wednesday. I'm still itching like mad. I can't use the cream as I am allergic to it. I have had this problem before. I can't get to the docs as I work many miles away from my surgery. I used the pessaries last time, and that didn't work either. Breaking my bank... Can it really take a week to work?"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "My first dose of fluconazole worked fine, but I started noticing red bumps on my arms and legs. At first, I thought it was from my razor, but a few days later, after I took my second dose, it got worse. I'm itchy all over my body, and the red bumps are everywhere on my arms, hands, and my whole legs. It's really irritating and probably the worst side effect I've experienced. But my yeast infection is gone. Just the skin breakouts are killing me now. :("

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I am allergic to this drug. Within 10-30 minutes of taking it, I feel extremely intense itching in my vaginal area. It becomes swollen, irritated, and very itchy. The first time it happened, I did not realize it was the drug, went to the doctor, and was tested and treated for any potential STIs. Ten days later, the doctor checks and sees I have thrush (I was not itchy, so I didn’t know). Advises OTC medication. I took the drug a second time, and again within 10-30 minutes, I have extreme itching, swelling, and irritation. That’s when it clicked that I was having a reaction. The pharmacist recommended an antihistamine and ice to the area. This helped, but I did ice for a full day and night and had to take a repeat antihistamine the following day. Still not 100%, mild itching, but I’m hoping the fluconazole will do its thing and I’ll be back to normal in a couple more days. I would not have this drug again."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I got a prescription to treat a vaginal yeast infection I've had for 2 weeks. On Friday, I took my first pill. I didn't see any changes right away, like a lot of people say they do. The next morning, Saturday, some of the itching went away, but it was still severe with swelling. Today is Sunday, I took my last dose. The itching and redness seemed worse than before when I woke up this morning. I took my last dose about 10 pm, it is now 1:30, and I don't feel any symptoms of the yeast. I still feel swollen, and I'm red down there. Hopefully, my last dose will knock this out. I do have a problem with constantly feeling gassy and having stomach pains when I take this medication. It also gives me diarrhea."

Fluconazole for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Personally, this drug gives me a fixed drug eruption in the form of a huge, round rash on one of my breasts that is intensively itchy and burns. It feels like a horrible sunburn. Therefore, I am clearly not a fan."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I was experiencing extreme and intense itching for almost a week straight. My period came, and I was fine after. I still went to the gyno, and she said there was still a little discharge, so she tested it. Didn't get a call back, but magically there was a prescription ready for me at my local pharmacy. I took one pill, and literally the next day, the intense itching was back! It's unbearable, I super can't live like this."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "My doctor prescribed me this, and it did not work. Itchiness went away for a while but came back. I took this pill at least four times, and the itchiness would go away, but discharge would still happen. My doctor was being rude and wouldn't give me a better medicine or something else since it wasn't working. So I'm still stuck with this situation, and my doctor won't do anything about it. I'm probably going to find something over the counter and hope that it works."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Had minor itching and burning for a few weeks. Couldn't figure out if it was from soaking in the tub, drinking lemon juice daily, or from doing perineal hair hygiene. Figured it was a yeast infection and finally saw a small amount of thin white discharge. Desperately tried home remedies that worked before the discomfort returned. Four weeks later, took Diflucan 1-dose. Symptoms improved almost immediately, but never resolved. Ouch, Ouch, Ouch, will call the doc tomorrow for treatment of this persistent infection."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I only get yeast infections if I have had to take antibiotics for a long period of time. I was on antibiotics for a while because of tooth pain, then fever, and going overseas. I was a mess. Anyway, after stopping antibiotics for about three weeks or so, I randomly developed a yeast infection. I noticed it at 3:00 am a couple of days ago when I went to use the bathroom. At first, my whole body was itching and then my lady parts. My mom gave me fluconazole, and after a couple of hours, I felt a little bit better, not as itchy but definitely soreness and burning. However, the following morning, it came back, and I promptly made an appointment with my doctor, and she prescribed me the same thing, 150 mg, and some cream. It has been 8 hours since I took fluconazole, and nothing. I am still really itchy and praying for a miracle. Also, I didn’t have any weird symptoms everyone keeps mentioning about diarrhea and whatnot."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I had my first yeast infection and was prescribed this pill. It did slow down the discharge, but the itch was still severe, along with swelling. I waited the seven days and still no improvement. I decided that it needs to touch the infection and purchased clotrimazole 3-day and had awesome results."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Took prescribed fluconazole 150 once a week for 4 weeks to treat yeast infection. First two weeks were horrible, it made my symptoms, of which I only had one (itching), worse, and the doctor did a pap and found the yeast much worse. Caused burning, irritated vulva and labia, redness, and itching intensified after the first and second doses. The third pill on the third week did better, but nausea was horrible and gave me a shaky feeling (could have been my anxiety). Fourth and final week, took the pill Monday, was dizzy and felt out of space within 30 minutes of the pill. Had stomach pain and loss of appetite, went to bed, woke up the next morning, my body felt like I was hit with the flu without the fever. Now on day 3 of the last dose, nausea comes and goes, and the shaky feeling comes and goes. I’m just hoping this medication gets out of my system soon so I can be back to normal, but as far as the yeast infection goes, I feel much better after taking the third dose and added probiotics and plenty of water."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Diflucan used to work for me without any issues, but I recently was prescribed it, and it caused severe itching on and around my lips for the second time. The previous time I took the medicine, I didn’t think that was the cause of my side effects, but now that I’m taking it a second time alone, I know that my side effects were from this medicine. Extreme severe itching on and around my lips, ulcers inside my mouth, dry mouth, and a dark spot on my back that itches really badly, and it’s swelling. I will never take this again. Please be aware of side effects, everyone’s reaction to certain things is different."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "This is my first time getting a yeast infection, and when I started to feel the burning and itching a few days ago, I didn't know what was going on. I saw this discharge coming out, and I was so disgusted. The smell wasn't strong, but I had no idea what it all was. After seeing my gynecologist yesterday, we knew right away it was a yeast infection. I took my first pill yesterday, and I felt so much better this morning, very little itching and no burning at all. I take my second pill on Saturday, hopefully all the symptoms will be gone. Having that yeast infection was worse than labor. Fluconazole is doing its job well so far, such a relief!"

Fluconazole for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I was prescribed Diflucan, one tablet daily for 30 days. My symptoms were itchiness at nighttime, mostly for a long period of time before treatment. I had a cervical smear last April, which came back unusual somehow? I was advised by post to return to the GP for retest in 3 months (cells need to grow). Anyway, the GP didn't phone me within 3 days of me receiving the letter. She advised me to pick up the script at the front desk and start on Augmentin 625 mg for 7 days, and then take Diflucan 1 a day for 30 days. I have finished my prescribed meds, and I have the same itchiness following Diflucan. What do I need to do now? My smear is not due for another while due to antibiotics."
