Fluconazole for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I originally had a UTI and was prescribed antibiotics for 5 days. About two days later, I started itching, and the doctor prescribed me this drug. I kid you not, I was so dizzy I thought I was going to fall over. It didn't matter if I was standing up or sitting down. The dizziness was horrible. Oh, I only had one dose of it, and I'm still itching like crazy."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "After a round of antibiotics to clear up a UTI, I developed a severe yeast infection with itching, burning, and discharge. Called the doctor, and he prescribed the generic of Diflucan. Took one dose, and symptoms cleared completely in 24 hours. Took the second dose 3 days later and now symptom-free!!!! I do not post reviews often, but I needed to give back to someone who may be suffering like I was. These reviews provide relief when things feel like they can't get any worse. And this magic pill proved that things will get better with time."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Unfortunately, fluconazole was not a great experience for me. And still suffering from the side effects. Do not ignore chills, burning sensations, and skin irritation. I did 2 rounds of fluconazole 72 hours apart. First round, I had a hive on my upper lip for a day, and lady parts were red and irritated. Went back to the doctor, prescribed a second round, which gave a burning sensation to the anus, labia, vulva... have been on fire ever since. Could hardly sit down. 5 days of prednisone to help, now Reactine once daily. Still have burning on the back of legs and butt... it has been almost a month. Pharmacist says it’s just going to take time... ugh. Wish there was something else that would help to get this out of my system as it has been a brutal experience."

Fluconazole for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I had 3 back-to-back yeast infections. The first one I treated myself with a 7-day cream. The second one my doctor saw during my annual pap. I told her I thought I had one, and she said she thought I was correct. She tested me for other infections, but it was, in fact, yeast. So she prescribed Diflucan and gave me 2 pills. I took one that day and one 3 days later. I started noticing an improvement within 24 hours. Let me say that the burning and itching from the yeast infections were SO SEVERE. I even questioned my 10-year partner about his fidelity because I wondered if I had somehow contracted an STI. (Not to his face) I'm not proud of that. It wasn't long, about a month later, and I got ANOTHER yeast infection, and this one, the burning was even worse. I emailed my doctor, and she sent a prescription to the pharmacy. The Diflucan worked the same, started working in about 24 hours."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I had a severe yeast infection. My labia were inflamed and enlarged with a hard texture. My vulva was extremely itchy, and my doctor prescribed oral fluconazole 150, 2 tablets. The first dose was enough to completely calm down the whole infection. I noticed some changes within 4 hours of taking it. The next day, there was a white debris in my vulva, which was evidence of the yeast being killed off. I still had another dose left over and noticed great changes with just one dose."

Fluconazole for Vaginal Yeast Infection "This is my second time taking Diflucan. I had an allergic reaction to the medication. My reaction was not listed as their side effects. I instantly started having stinging in my lips. Later that day, my lips were swollen. My tonsils started to get sore. My vagina is swollen, with extreme itching, and painful. It made me develop hemorrhoids. It has been two days, and my symptoms are worse. I am athletic and drink a lot of water. I should’ve never developed hemorrhoids. The itching is unbearable. I am now using OTC creams for the discomfort. I’ve had STD testing for HIV, Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, RPR, and HSV. Everything was negative. Be cautious of this medication."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I take this medication regularly for chronic yeast infections. I have a bad immune system as well as a stomach disorder. I never have any noticeable side effects. The first 12 or so hours are the worst while the yeast is being killed off. The itching gets extreme, and I make sure I have nothing planned that day. Within 24 hours, the symptoms are minimal, and I feel almost normal. It's my go-to."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Had sex Friday night, went to work and used the bathroom, and wiped with cheap tissue. When I got home, I started itching and burning. It was so bad and unbearable. Good thing I had an appointment yesterday for a BP check-up. While I was there, I told my doctor my symptoms, and she prescribed me fluconazole. I took it yesterday around 7, and today around 7, I notice it's starting to work. I'm not itching or burning, plus it's pushing all the infection out. Every time I go pee, mount and mounts of discharge are coming out, plus I have to keep a pantyliner on because it makes you leak. That 150 mg did the trick for me. All I'm drinking is water and cranberry juice to help clean me out. Every med doesn't do the same for everyone, but it's fine for me. Hopefully, I don't experience this again!!"

For Onychomycosis, Toenail "I just started taking a medication called Afumix. I was prescribed this medication after seeing a dermatologist in GDL, MX, he sent me to have a culture done. They scraped the nail to identify the type of fungal infection. I’ve had it for over 30 years, battling athlete's foot as well. I’ve suffered with this for so many years: unsightly toenails and itchy feet. I started this medication 4 days ago and will now take 6 days off, then back on 4 days, on 6 days off. I will continue this cycle until I’m done with 16 pills. By the way, I bought this medication in Mexico for just under $100: 4 boxes with 4 pills in each box. I already have noticed that the skin on my feet feels smoother and absolutely no itchiness between my toes. It appears to be clearing the skin peeling. I will continue to update the results after I’m done with the dose. FYI, I’ve tried the Lamisil/terbinafine pills and cream, both never worked for me."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "So I went to the clinic on Monday to get an STD check because I was having discharge. They diagnosed me with a yeast infection. They prescribed me the one-time pill, and I took it. Tuesday, it started itching and creamy discharge and a burning sensation (very uncomfortable). Now it's Wednesday, and it seems to have gotten no better, if anything worse, because when I went to the clinic, I wasn't having any of the symptoms I'm having now. It sucks and is very discomforting, especially when I'm at work. I called my doctor's office to see if they can give me something else and figure out what's really going on. Ugh! I just want my vagina back to normal."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have many, many medication allergies and extremely sensitive skin. With any antibiotic therapy, I always end up with a yeast infection. :( I take Diflucan 150 mg by mouth for 7 days - it's just the regimen that works for me. I've tried it on many different schedules. I also mix cold water and 7 drops of tea tree oil in a peri bottle and rinse the area several times daily. Tea tree oil is a natural antibacterial, and the oil soothes the skin. Imperative the water is cold, as warm or hot will cause increased itching and irritation. Make sure you dry the area very well by blotting only or use a hair dryer on the cool setting. I always take the RX before bed to sleep through any side effects!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "This is a wonder drug. The first time I had a yeast infection, it lasted for months, with unbearable itching, blisters, and bleeding. Because there was no discharge, I didn't think it was a yeast infection, and because I had been previously diagnosed with lichen sclerosus, I thought this constant pain and misery was just how my life would always be from then on. When I went to see my gyn, she said it didn't look like a yeast infection, but said we should do a test anyway. Lo and behold, it was a YI. My doc gave me fluconazole, and one pill fixed everything. Since then, any time I get YI symptoms (unfortunately often because I have to take regular antibiotics), I take this, and it's always worked. It's also cheaper than OTC!"

For Esophageal Candidiasis "I was so scared of this one-dose pill because of some of these reviews that I almost talked myself out of taking it despite desperately needing it. So glad I took it! I ended up cutting it in half, took one around 8:30 a.m., experienced some nausea which could have turned to vomiting if I had anything in my stomach. Took the next at noon, experienced some random mild belly cramping - nothing unbearable. It's now almost 6 p.m. and I've got a very mild headache with some random light itching. Absolutely nothing major, and the best news ever is I finally got to eat without choking! I'll update if anything significant happens, otherwise... Just take the pill. You've got it because you need it. I've also been taking Nystatin 4x daily with it and am normally very anti-medication/Dr. Phobic/side effect sensitive. Don't let reviews upset you. Some of them sound exaggerated anyway."

Fluconazole for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Was prescribed this medication after BV treatment, and the next day, lip was swollen & itching. Lip swelled to the point it was tight and shiny. Eating was unbearable. Woke up with a blister that has since popped, and now I have an open sore and scabs. I WILL NOT EVER TAKE THIS MEDICATION AGAIN!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I’m now on day three of my yeast infection. On day two, I avoided OTC products and visited a doctor. I was prescribed two doses of fluconazole. The first to be taken immediately; the second, three days later. It took roughly 24 hours to kick in. I did notice the medication made it worse before getting better. I’m happy to report on this third day … the itching, burning, and inflammation have lessened drastically. I’m hoping the second dose knocks it out completely. Additional tips that seem to be helping my recovery process: Tylenol, drinking lots of water, urinating frequently, cleaning the infected area with water after urinating (literally pouring from a water bottle over the toilet), drying the infected area (this is keeping my vagina dry and aids the yeast in not spreading), and not consuming yeast products. I hope this helps!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Yeast infections are a complete pain. I've been bouncing between bacterial vaginosis & yeast - the antibiotics tend to trigger yeast. I was using boric acid (made it feel all better but then yeast regrew once I stopped), then Canesten cream, but I could feel that crawling feeling of the infection still being there. I took the fluconazole tablet yesterday - can definitely feel the itch and discomfort fading. My theory is that fluconazole is good to kill the candida in your stomach, with one theory being that your digestive health reaches your vagina via the short distance from the anal passage. I have taken fluconazole previously & felt like it did nothing, but it really seems to be helping this time. If you have a persistent yeast infection, just try everything - different routes, different things work. Boric acid has always been great to bring relief. Fingers crossed the issues stay away! But they do seem to keep reoccurring. :( Good luck everyone!"

Fluconazole for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I suffer from yeast infections quite frequently, especially while being on my depo birth control shot and being more sexually active. In the past, Diflucan did the trick in 24 hours (I learned Monistat does NOTHING for me!). As I suffer from them almost every other month, if not every month, I believe I have built a resistance to the medication. I began needing two pills prescribed at a time for an effective solution. Just a few days ago, I received a pack of 3. My symptoms feel almost worse than before getting the prescription. I didn't drink much water and also had sex after taking the pill day 2, but I took the last pill yesterday, and my vagina is raw and swollen as well as itchy. I also feel my period beginning. I hate this confusion about my body."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "So I initially got the yeast infection due to many antibiotics and medication after a car accident. It was unbearable, and I ignored it for a month, in which it worsened. I decided to try Monistat 7, which was a remedy that was painful but worked wonderfully until I started taking my antibiotics again. I experienced some mild itching and immediately went to my OB/GYN. She prescribed two doses of 150 mg fluconazole. I took one yesterday around 10 AM and was fine during the day. At night, I felt like there was some mild irritation in that region, so leftover cream from the Monistat 7 was used. Today, I took it around 3 PM, and it made me quite nauseous, but I am experiencing no further itching or irritation. Hopefully, it will be gone for good!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I had the itching symptom bad, rarely any burning, so I went to the OBGYN the next day because I was always itching in my sleep. The doctor checked and said it's just yeast. A big relief because a week before, my boyfriend and I had unprotected sex, so I was scared. I took one pill and now the yeast is just leaking out in a clumpy formation. I hope it is gone soon."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have been having recurring yeast infections for about a year now. When I had one last year, my doctor prescribed me one pill of fluconazole, and it really didn't work. So, I was hesitant when I recently got one last month and attempted to cure it with OTC med, but I don't think it fully went away because here I am again with another yeast infection. Well, my doctor just gave me 2 pills of fluconazole. My discharge has completely gone, and now I still have a little itch. I'm praying after I take this second pill it would fully go away because it's really starting to depress me. My doctor is testing me for everything (even diabetes). I hope it's nothing serious and just a yeast infection."
