Fluconazole for Vaginal Yeast Infection "This is my first yeast infection. I was too scared to tell anyone, so I dealt with it for almost a week. But last night, I couldn't handle it anymore, so I told my mum. She called, and the doctor sent in a prescription. I took the pill earlier around 1:30 pm. It's now 1:41 am. It took away a lot of the itching and burning when I pee, but it still slightly hurts to wipe, and it's slightly itchy. I have another dose I can take, but I'm waiting to see if this will help and clear up by tomorrow or get better."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "This is my second yeast infection I have had, and the doc that I went to prescribed fluconazole. Didn't give me a whole lot of info on it other than it would cure the infection. I took the pill at around 10 pm, and it is now 5 am, and I can barely stand. My burning and itching have stopped, but my stomach hurts so bad, and I have spent the last hour on the toilet. It is a side effect, but I don't know if I should be concerned..."

Fluconazole for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I took one pill when I went to bed. The next morning and days later, I have a red patch on my cheek. First, it burned and itched, now it looks like I am a burn victim. I have taken this medication before, but never again. I am just hoping this heals soon."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Had a terrible reaction. Took one dose on Aug 12th. Took 2 whole days to clear up the yeast infection, but then, 3 days after taking one 150 mg dose, I started having terrible burning pains in my stomach, esophagus, and intestines. I couldn’t sleep for three nights. The pains were on and off for 2 weeks. I first had constipation, then took Milk of Magnesia and had odd-looking diarrhea. It’s now Aug 29th, and I’m still having some pains, my eyes are a bit yellow, and I’ve been experiencing an occasional feeling of rapid heart rate and dizziness. I believe I may have had the liver-damaging reaction mentioned in the drug’s warnings. I wish I would have just taken over-the-counter cream instead or a natural remedy of yogurt. Not worth the side effects!!!"

Fluconazole for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I took 3 Diflucan for a yeast infection and used over-the-counter Monistat 3 day first on my own. One month later, I am still experiencing burning tongue, metallic taste in my mouth, slight pains going through each breast, very tired, and slight itch and burn on occasion in the vagina. I took this along with HRT and have been reading about the interaction they have together. All I have been told is that I may have overdone the treatment, had an allergic reaction, and killed too much good bacteria. Will never take this drug again."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Great medicine if taken at the very first sign of a vaginal yeast infection. It's normal for me to get one when finishing a round of antibiotics. If taken on the third or second to last day of treatment, fluconazole effectively treats any potential yeast infection well before symptoms manifest. No need to endure the burning or discomfort. Won't help the discomfort in established yeast infections, but relief normally will kick in in about 24 to 48 hours in my experience. Excellent drug to quickly and easily treat yeast infections without the mess of cream suppositories."

For Candidemia "Do NOT take this medicine! I want to first start off by saying, this medicine fluconazole 150 mg, 3 rounds is terrible! I had no idea I was having an allergic reaction to this medication. I was prescribed this medicine, and it did nothing to help my yeast infection!! It caused the sides of my tongue to swell and caused it to burn and be very sore. I got checked twice for every single STD! All negative! It caused me to break out in hives and I'm still experiencing symptoms of allergic reaction, including dry mouth and slightly swollen lump nodes under my arms! The worst medication on the market! The side effects of this medicine are not even listed! I believe I’m going to sue the company for lack of knowledge of reactions! Be very cautious of this medicine before taking! It's an absolute nightmare for me!!"

Fluconazole for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I took amoxicillin for 10 days, which has given me a very painful yeast infection. I was prescribed Diflucan, and it interacted with the Tegretol I take for bipolar. I ended up in the hospital overnight so my kidneys could be flushed out. Be sure to check drug interactions before adding additional meds. I did complete the three-day treatment of Diflucan under the doctor's advice, but still have burning. I am now on the second day of a 3-day Monistat treatment. I am praying this burning subsides so I can get some relief. It has been a month now of pain. Ugh!!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Since November, I've been battling my first yeast infection, just one symptom: burning. Thought it was a UTI, given antibiotics by day four, burning got worse, nausea, and vomiting. Two doctors, one specialist. No STD, healthy cervix, just what appears to be a 'mild' yeast infection. Well, if this is mild, I shudder at severe. Meds given: Flagyl, five pills at once, Sporanox, 14 days, 14-day prescribed suppositories, Canesten, 3 and 7, boric acid, four days, probiotic suppositories, three days, Monistat, 7, Sporanec, three days, 12 pills. Nothing worked. Diflucan 150 mg for three days, no change as yet, burning continues, now slight fever and body aches. Called doctor, says more tests for Candida die-off and COVID. Ha! Are doctors helping me or harming me???? I read reviews that say it gets worse before it works, so I'm hopeful the Diflucan works. I'll stick this out and no more meds, as this is tiring and driving me nuts."

Fluconazole for Candida Urinary Tract Infection "Two months ago, I started feeling burns on my penis, so I didn't take it seriously. But these days, it became so bad that I couldn't sleep, then I searched for it on Google today. I bought Diflucan, and it's been 4 hours, and I have no burning or itching, just a few wounds."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I've taken this (150 mg) in the past for yeast infections, and usually, it does the trick in one dose within a couple of days - no side effects. Recently, I was prescribed Augmentin for 7 days. I told the doctor that I almost always get yeast infections after antibiotics, and she gave me two doses of fluconazole 150 mg. I didn't notice any of the symptoms of the infection until the last day I was on the antibiotics - then the extreme itching began. That evening, I took the first dose. It helped a little over the next couple of days, but the itch was still intense, and the burning was picking up, so I took the second pill three days after the first (as recommended on the package). It's now been three days since the second pill, and the burning is even more intense. I'm seeing my gynecologist soon to get tests because it's just not going away like it should. I don't know if my chemistry has changed or something, but the pill didn't work like it used to."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I took the metro gel for BV for 14 days, and on the 12th day, I started to get itching and burning, and my doctor prescribed me 2 tablets of fluconazole for a yeast infection. I've had a yeast infection in the past and was told to use Monistat 7, which burned and itched so badly, so this, compared to that, is 100% better. I took my first tablet yesterday and used the applicator from the metro gel to insert plain Greek yogurt up there, and as of now, there is no itching and 95% less discharge! I still have burning, which will hopefully go away soon."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Took Diflucan when I'm pregnant, 26 weeks, and had YI since I'm in my 13th week of pregnancy. After taking 1 tab, the next day all the discharge came out, and it feels so relieved (I think around 80% improved). No itchy inside, no burning sensation outside, I can wear panty with comfort. Yet after 6 days, the symptom seems to come back (starts to feel itchy from inside). Not really sure I should repeat the dosage or not. Still waiting for my obgyn's reply."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "For a couple of weeks, I've had discharge, but the doctors kept telling me it was normal. So after I felt a bit of burning and itchiness, I went back. The doctor looked down there and said everything looked fine, but when she took a sample, it came back as a yeast infection. I tried this pill once, 150 mg one time, and it didn't work for some reason, but now I'm attempting it again."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I've had several yeast infections in the past, and I am currently getting over one. Each time the doctor prescribed these pills to cure the yeast infection, it did an amazing job. The same day I took the pill, I had some itching and burning relief and less nasty discharge. I feel a lot better already."

For Tinea Versicolor "I was diagnosed with tinea versicolor. This is basically an overgrowth of yeast on your skin; it causes the affected areas to lose pigment, such as a tan. Locals in Hawaii call it haole rot. I'm not entirely sure if this medicine is working yet because it can take a long time for your skin tone to even out. My pharmacist did not tell me that Xanax should not be taken with this medicine. I'm really happy that I didn't take any. I can't find out how long it stays active in your system, though. I took the medicine yesterday (400 mg), and I am going to take another 400 mg dose in one week. Today my face burns as though I have a chemical burn. It's kind of an odd side effect."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have taken Canesten's fluconazole one-day pill, 150 mg many times before. Now in my late 20s, it seems I have developed an allergic reaction to this drug. I took it two months ago, and it only made my symptoms worse, in addition to sores on my tongue. I didn't think much of it and took it again two days ago to treat another YI. This time, what I experienced last time came back worse, with itching, burning, and rashes in my hands/fingers. Two of my fingers swelled up so bad that I went to the ER to check it out. They didn't seem to believe that I was allergic to the medication and diagnosed me with dactylitis (sausage fingers, lol). But I know my body better and know this was because of the fluconazole, and it seems I'm not the only one. I'm on day two, and the swelling has subsided a bit but has formed into large blisters on my fingers. Itching and redness are still present, my tongue is still sore, and my outer vagina is still irritated. This pill is awful."

Fluconazole for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Personally, this drug gives me a fixed drug eruption in the form of a huge, round rash on one of my breasts that is intensively itchy and burns. It feels like a horrible sunburn. Therefore, I am clearly not a fan."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "It worked, but it was six days of wondering if it was going to work before there was finally a light at the end of the tunnel. I took two pills 72 hours apart. On day three, I thought there was promise, but my doctor said to take the second pill because this was the second yeast infection I had in three weeks due to antibiotics. So I took the second pill, and the cycle of burning and discomfort in my vulva and the feeling of cramps and my cervix dilating started all over again. Now I’m at day three (day six total) of the second dose, and my vagina/vulva is starting to feel better. I’m hopeful. Is this my drug of choice? No, because it beats me up in the vagina and vulva and urethra with burning, spasms, cramping, and the feeling like I can’t empty my bladder. But hopefully, the job is finally done and it’ll only be smooth sailing from here on out. Fingers crossed. I was able to get a good deal through Kroger RX because my regular insurance would not cover it."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Had minor itching and burning for a few weeks. Couldn't figure out if it was from soaking in the tub, drinking lemon juice daily, or from doing perineal hair hygiene. Figured it was a yeast infection and finally saw a small amount of thin white discharge. Desperately tried home remedies that worked before the discomfort returned. Four weeks later, took Diflucan 1-dose. Symptoms improved almost immediately, but never resolved. Ouch, Ouch, Ouch, will call the doc tomorrow for treatment of this persistent infection."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I only get yeast infections if I have had to take antibiotics for a long period of time. I was on antibiotics for a while because of tooth pain, then fever, and going overseas. I was a mess. Anyway, after stopping antibiotics for about three weeks or so, I randomly developed a yeast infection. I noticed it at 3:00 am a couple of days ago when I went to use the bathroom. At first, my whole body was itching and then my lady parts. My mom gave me fluconazole, and after a couple of hours, I felt a little bit better, not as itchy but definitely soreness and burning. However, the following morning, it came back, and I promptly made an appointment with my doctor, and she prescribed me the same thing, 150 mg, and some cream. It has been 8 hours since I took fluconazole, and nothing. I am still really itchy and praying for a miracle. Also, I didn’t have any weird symptoms everyone keeps mentioning about diarrhea and whatnot."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Took prescribed fluconazole 150 once a week for 4 weeks to treat yeast infection. First two weeks were horrible, it made my symptoms, of which I only had one (itching), worse, and the doctor did a pap and found the yeast much worse. Caused burning, irritated vulva and labia, redness, and itching intensified after the first and second doses. The third pill on the third week did better, but nausea was horrible and gave me a shaky feeling (could have been my anxiety). Fourth and final week, took the pill Monday, was dizzy and felt out of space within 30 minutes of the pill. Had stomach pain and loss of appetite, went to bed, woke up the next morning, my body felt like I was hit with the flu without the fever. Now on day 3 of the last dose, nausea comes and goes, and the shaky feeling comes and goes. I’m just hoping this medication gets out of my system soon so I can be back to normal, but as far as the yeast infection goes, I feel much better after taking the third dose and added probiotics and plenty of water."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "This is my first time getting a yeast infection, and when I started to feel the burning and itching a few days ago, I didn't know what was going on. I saw this discharge coming out, and I was so disgusted. The smell wasn't strong, but I had no idea what it all was. After seeing my gynecologist yesterday, we knew right away it was a yeast infection. I took my first pill yesterday, and I felt so much better this morning, very little itching and no burning at all. I take my second pill on Saturday, hopefully all the symptoms will be gone. Having that yeast infection was worse than labor. Fluconazole is doing its job well so far, such a relief!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I’m prone to yeast infections and get them right before my period often, or after having baths, etc. Usually, I’m able to treat them with fluconazole, but not this time. I had BV and had it treated, then a week or so later experienced a burning sensation that was mild. Assuming it was a yeast infection since no bad smell was present and I had taken an OTC test that came up negative, I took fluconazole like usual. No relief after a week. Used a Canesten cream that made the burning worsen. Also, have constipation from the fluconazole. I think I have a resistant strain of yeast, so off to the doctor later this week for some much-needed relief."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Took this about 4 hours ago. Within an hour, I have a burning sensation in the back of my throat and it feels like a lump, which is making me burp loads! A strange taste in my mouth and I feel utterly awful! Scared, as I spoke to the doctor who thinks it’s a bad reaction, but when you feel it’s hard to swallow, it is worrying! Never again will I take this, it’s terrifying me. I have no idea if symptoms will get worse or wear off or how long they will last!"
