For Gout "I have suffered from Gout for 15 years, since I was 30. I took Colchicine whenever I got Gout attacks until I realized that I get too many attacks that were also harder. 2 months ago I started taking the febuxostat 40 mg, after 1 month the Uric Acid level dropped from over 9 to 5.6, however since then I have attacks on my left foot. It is not the pain we are used to however it changes, also the location in the feet changes. Is that reasonable to have this attack for so long? I understood that when Uric Acid levels drops so fast it can cause attacks, but I wonder if someone else also experienced it and could say that it us "normal" and that the situation get much better( no attacks) but more time is needed."

For Gout "For all the people in the US complaining about pricing, order the drug in Mexico, name is different “Turazive” but is the same active component (febuxostat) and same Japanese maker (takeda lab) Costs $30 usd. per month supply, if you buy a 3 month supply the 4th is free. Been taking this drug for 3 years with no flare ups, UA levels normal...so happy!"

For Gout "It took a long time to be diagnosed with gout (3 years!). After another year of treating flares, I made the switch to febuxostat. I had some flares at first (as advertised), but now I am two years gout-free. No side effects, no gout (UA 3.3 - 4.4). Additionally, it lowered my cholesterol and triglycerides!"

For Gout "Been taking 80 mg of Uloric daily for 7 years (40 mg wasn't doing much). Uric acid was 8 and flaring plus tophi, etc. Now uric acid is 3 and tophi has disappeared, no flares and I eat everything. Also take .5 mcg colchicine (Colcryst) every other day which helps deal with inflammation I guess. I might even lose some weight eventually which would be interesting to see if the gout is controlled without meds."

Uloric (febuxostat) for Gout "I have found Uloric (80mg) to be slightly less effective in controlling my gout symptoms than Allopurinol (300mg) and it is more expensive but it is good to have it as another alternative."
