Ciprodex (ciprofloxacin / dexamethasone) for Otitis Externa "While this med helped my ear pain and infection heal... the swollen mouth, jaw, tongue, and face were too unbearable I quit the drops after 4 days. My doc advised me there was no way my swelling came from the drops. I insisted on prednisone and then picked up zyrtec, pepcid, and benydryl Those meds, combined with 50 mg of prednisone I'm feeling much better. I'm allergic to penicillin. I'm wondering if my pcn allergy is related to my cipro allergy. I'll never go back to that doctor."

Ciprodex (ciprofloxacin / dexamethasone) for Otitis Externa "My daughter just started taking this yesterday and as soon as we used the drops within half an hour she was in more pain then she had been before taking it. I hopped on here and saw so many other people have experienced the same thing. We are going to try them this morning and see if it makes a difference or not. She complained of pain in her ear all the way down the side of her jaw. And the price - oh my goodness. I don't have coverage and this little bottle cost me $45. I see some people are paying more which is ridiculous considering it seems to be a medication that does not work the best. Will see how we do after the next dose otherwise I'm stopping it and we are going back to the doctor."

Ciprodex (ciprofloxacin / dexamethasone) for Otitis Externa "I had a mild infection. My doctor said my eardrum was pink and prescribed Ciprodex. I had first tried hydrogen peroxide for three days. The drops burned badly. When the dose was finished my hearing, which was already going in that ear was gone. I went back to my doctor. The infection was gone. He said my eardrum would rebound. He’s a good doctor so I hope he’s right. It’s been over 4 months now and a hearing test last week showed a huge drop in that ear."

Ciprodex (ciprofloxacin / dexamethasone) for Otitis Externa "I have been using ciprodex drops in my right ear for 9 days as instruction by the P.A. at the ENTs Office. The drops have not helped one bit, nor will they go down my ear. I am at a loss what to do now since the P.A. didn't recommend or prescribe anything else."

Ciprodex (ciprofloxacin / dexamethasone) for Otitis Externa "I’ve been taking Ciprodex for 48 hours now and I have constant tinnitus. The swelling or pain hasn’t really improved. If it’s not improved by tomorrow I’ll go back to the doctor. I live in Canada and paid .57 cents with insurance. Even without insurance I doubt it would be very expensive."

Ciprodex (ciprofloxacin / dexamethasone) for Otitis Externa "I have only been on this medication for one day for both internal and external ear infection. Within hours of taking it, my ear started to swell even more than it already was, causing it to hurt tremendously to open my mouth, chew, and even swallow. I was in pain before, but since taking ciprodex the pain has increased a substantial amount. I was told it should get better with 48 hours. I can't take the drops anymore due to all the swelling and pain, also hearing loss. I'm hoping this clears up soon with just the pal medication I was also prescribed."

Ciprodex (ciprofloxacin / dexamethasone) for Otitis Media "Dr prescribed Ciprodex Otic drops for my ear infection. I took my first dose (4 drops) at 2pm yesterday. Within a few hours itching started and small red dots appeared on my neck, upper arms and chest. I took Benadryl at 10pm because they were now hives. Slept very little. Went to Dr this morning to show her the hives. Rather than prescribe a replacement medicine she said to take Zyrtec for the next two days and see her next week. The Ciprodex cost me $97.50 out of pocket after the small portion my insurance covered. This was a short lived nightmare I will not repeat. This was after 1 dosage."

For Otitis Media "AVOID THIS DRUG! I walk in clinic prescribed it to me, here I am at 2 am in massive pain. I can't get a second of relief to fall asleep. Now I'm reading that the pain will continue for 4 to 5 days. Well isn't that just a miracle. At least before the drops I could sleep, now I'm literally sleep deprived and in enormous pain. I'm going to continue with the drops but oh help me lord if I die because of being sleep deprived and getting in an accident I just want it on record that its this stupid drugs fault. Don't be a fool, if your doctor recommends this garbage implore them to try it first. They must be getting a great kick back from this company to prescribe this garbage. So, ya I am not pleased at all, not even slightly."

Ciprodex (ciprofloxacin / dexamethasone) for Otitis Media "My two year old had severe ear infection and did not respond to this antibiotic at all so after five straight days of 104 temperature and vomiting the doctor gave a shot of Rocephin which broke the fever immediately and started the healing of the ears and then finished with a round of Augmentin. We did however get the severe diaper rash that the letter said could accompany this medication. "

Ciprodex (ciprofloxacin / dexamethasone) "I had gone through 2 doctors, and 2 different prescriptions before going to a third doctor and getting these drops, They worked great for me, however, I developed another infection in my other ear and so far these drops are doing nothing for the second infection. And as for the cost, I don't know about States... but in Canada it's around $60 without a plan and I got it for $7.47 with my plan."

Ciprodex (ciprofloxacin / dexamethasone) for Otitis Externa "Wish I had never taken this drug. I had a mild ear infection (not much pain). Ever since taking this, over six months ago, there has been a constant noise in my ear. Plus in spite of the fact that there is no evidence of an infection now, I am experiencing off-and-on pain in the ear. I believe this drug contributed to the constant "noise" I'm now experiencing. I doubt it will go away and it is horrible."

For Otitis Externa "Been taking Ciproxin HC ear drops for 3 days and now have the worst ringing in ears. It started with a muffled left ear on Monday. Saw doctor on Tuesday who prescribed these drugs. Since Tuesday I have had ringing in both ears which has caused vertigo, vomiting, nausea. These are also symptoms of ear pressure from a cold but I’ve never had ear noise like this before. Think I need to stop taking them"

Ciprodex (ciprofloxacin / dexamethasone) for Otitis Externa "I developed an outer ear infection after a month of daily swimming. I was in a lot of pain and went to the doctors which prescribed these drops. With insurance it still cost me $60 out of pocket. Which I would have been more than happy to pay if it had helped relieved the pain. However, my pain is worse now. The drops have only made the pain 10x worse. I'm now on day 4th and have decided to stop using them going back to the doctors for an alternative. I'm really bummed out as we leave on vacation this Sunday and the pain is unbearable."

For Otitis Externa "I have chronic ear infections, ever since I was a baby and I’ve never had tubes or anything so I’m use to ear pain. However at 21 years old I just got my first OUTER ear infection and was given these drops. I was better off before these drops honestly it was so painful and I'm hearing that a lot reading these reviews, I’m glad it wasn’t just me. My ear swelled up insanely super bright red and getting purple and I couldn’t talk it caused my entire left side to be in excruciating pain including my neck. Who knows something like that could’ve been a reaction too, on the 3rd day I finally went and got something else that worked within the first 24 hours thankfully!"

Ciprodex (ciprofloxacin / dexamethasone) for Otitis Externa "I was prescribed this after I developed ear pain and burning pain that was insane from otitis externa!!! Within 2 hours I began to feel relief like a lot I could finally sleep. They made me sleepy and the ear drops made ear feel a little fuller because my ear already felt pressure but no bad reactions. I however can’t believe the medication retails for $230 that’s insane. I only had a small copay due to Medicaid."

Ciprodex (ciprofloxacin / dexamethasone) for Otitis Externa "I was having an on and off again ear pain for over 3 months. The 1st NP did not give me Ciprodex nor Amocoxillian and the ear infection got worse. At first the pain was only at night but now its day and night. I went to another NP and she prescribed Ciprodex and Amocoxillian. The first dose of Ciprodex was unbearable today & the pain lasted for 2hrs. It did push some wax or infection out of my ear. I have 6 more days to go so hopefully I will not have the same pain experience everyday."

Ciprodex (ciprofloxacin / dexamethasone) for Otitis Externa "SMALL BOTTLE, PURCHASED AT PHARMACY for $264.000!! Insurance paid for $214. 50 for 7 days treatment. Yet a 2% acidic solution and cortisol for swelling is recommended. How in the world can we expect these companies to accept the risk of insuring people"

Ciprodex (ciprofloxacin / dexamethasone) for Otitis Externa "It took away the swelling and pain in about 24 hours. It slightly improved the loss of hearing after 7 days but I still can't hear like normal. Way way too expensive, $270 in which insurance covered abut $50. $220 for a tiny bottle of mediocre medicine."

Ciprodex (ciprofloxacin / dexamethasone) for Otitis Externa "I have eczema prone skin, which makes me more likely to have ear infections since the eczema is also sometimes near my ear canal. I've taken ciprodex drops many times throughout the years for my ear infections and NEVER experienced burning or pain like these other reviews, even when my ear canal was raw and swollen. These drops will make you feel better after only a few doses but it's super important to finish them as prescribed or the infection will return and be more resistant to the antibiotics. Please don't let the other reviews scare you off from a good ear drop, not every single person will experience pain from them!"

Ciprodex (ciprofloxacin / dexamethasone) for Otitis Externa "Went on vacation for about five days which included swimming almost everyday. On the last day, after a shower my right ear became plugged. Tried using alcohol/vinegar mixes and ear wax remover drops for almost a week but neither worked. Nurse did a flush and the ear was clogged with wax and sand balls which irritated the area. Was given this medicine which I've used for only a day but has already decreased the soreness tremendously. Walmart said it was 292 and I'm not sure where that price came from since most sites and people online are stating 190-230. Ending up remembering I had prescription insurance and that reduced it to $58."

Ciprodex (ciprofloxacin / dexamethasone) "I developed severe pain in my ear after flyinf home from vacation with a horrible head cold. Upon landing the pain in my ears was so bad I could just lean forward and hold my head as tears rolled down my face. (I traveled every week for 20 years, during my career, with no problem with ear pain). I thought the pain would go away with time, but after three weeks I decided to see my ENT. He prescribed Ciprodex. Within one day the pain was greatly reduced, but I faced severe swelling under my eye, swelling in my neck, cough, congestion and basically felt sick. I stuck with the drops for 4 days, but couldn't take the side effects so I stopped. I will call my ENT after the holiday."

Ciprodex (ciprofloxacin / dexamethasone) for Otitis Externa "My son while at his mothers put a plastic bead for making jewelry in his ear. They didnt have tools at ER and we needed a followup for ENT doctor to get it out. So prevent any type of infection they gave us Ciprodex and Antipyrine-Benzoca. For Ciprodex alone a 7 day supply they billed insurance company $203.08. Of that a 7 day supply cost me $17 out of pocket. Thank you insurance for paying the rest."
