Brompheniramine / dextromethorphan / pseudoephedrine for Cough and Nasal Congestion "First time taking this medicine. Prescribed for an upper respiratory infection with an ear infection. I have been diagnosed with PTSD and generalized anxiety with panic attacks. So far so good. I can normally sense the slightest change in heartbeats and haven’t had an issue taking this medicine. My nose is clear after the first dose. Still pretty congested in the chest, but like I said, I’ve only taken the first dose. I’m not sure what dosage others were on that caused anxiety, but my doctor put me on 5 ml every 5 hours. If you’re on a higher dose, that might have something to do with the anxiety side effect."

Brompheniramine / dextromethorphan / pseudoephedrine for Cough and Nasal Congestion "Would never take this medicine again. It made me anxious, irritable, fatigued, and made my heart feel like it was going to explode through my chest. Helped with my cough but not worth the terrible side effects and disgusting taste."

Brompheniramine / dextromethorphan / pseudoephedrine for Cough and Nasal Congestion "It was time for bed, so I decided to take a dose to help me breathe at night. I was heavily congested to the point I snored when I tried breathing through my mouth. I dosed off about 20 minutes after taking it, which is not normal for me, I usually have trouble sleeping at night. Anywho, a few hours in, I found myself awake and anxious. I felt my heart and thought I was maybe going to have a heart attack. I was tossing and turning and had weird dreams. It helped with my breathing, but that feeling of maybe dying is scarier than anything I’ve experienced. Maybe less dosage next time? I don't know, but it was something I would rather not experience again!"

For Cough and Nasal Congestion "I took this, and for three days, I didn't seem to put the pieces together until the third day. It caused me to feel anxious beyond belief. It's a 'rare' but possible side effect that seems to be a lot more common than people think, considering the other comments on this page. Depression, anxiety, feelings tied with the inability to sleep. I wouldn't recommend this medication."

Brompheniramine / dextromethorphan / pseudoephedrine for Cough and Nasal Congestion "I have bronchitis and am coughing nonstop. This did not help. It made me anxious, and my heart beat rapidly for a while. I just wanted it to wear off. Still not able to sleep due to coughing."

Brompheniramine / dextromethorphan / pseudoephedrine for Cough and Nasal Congestion "I could not sleep because of this medicine, it made me feel like I had to move every second and made me so paranoid and anxious. It also made my heart pound hard and just made me feel so messed up. I can’t wait for it to wear off to never take it again. I literally feel like I’m about to have a heart attack."
