"I was using this product topically on my skin morning and night for all of high school. It cleared up my extreme acne in a matter of days, and I was amazed. HOWEVER, at times my skin would be so stripped of oil that the edges of my mouth, eyes, and nose would crack (sometimes bleeding). I would apply coconut oil until they healed. These episodes were rare, and my face was overall clearer, until a few months ago. Suddenly, within a day, my entire face was red, itching, burning, peeling. These didn’t stop for a month of only applying water and pure vitamin E oil to stop the pain, paired with antibiotics. This drug was my best frenemy, who I am finally saying goodbye to. I would recommend this to anyone, but beg them to know when to say when."

Benzoyl peroxide topical "Really great product, has cleared a vast majority of back and chest acne. Issues, which I expected with benzoyl peroxide: bleaching of clothes, and every few weeks or so my chest will be irritated. I just stop applying to the area for a couple of days. Highly recommend."

Benzoyl peroxide topical "This bar really works. I've used Proactiv and tried every other product on the market. I also used the 5% acne wash at Kaiser, and it didn't work. Whatever is in the PanOxyl, the combination is perfect for my 28-year-old skin that's still breaking out. I use it on my face, chest, and back. It's a lifesaver."

Benzoyl peroxide topical "Clears up skin rather quickly on the face and on the back. It helps with oily skin as well. It reduces whiteheads and blackheads also. Works great in combination with the OTC acne medication Differin gel."

Benzoyl peroxide topical "I LOVE this product! At first sign of a blemish or whitehead that is really painful (you know what I'm talking about). Here's what I did: I put ice on the pimple to help with pain and swelling, and I put a thin to moderate layer of PanOxyl Aqua Gel. Most of the time, the pimple went away on its own, or it even 'popped' on its own. I totally love this stuff. Anything from the PanOxyl family."

Benzoyl peroxide topical "It gets rid of pimples. Rub a small amount on individual pimples or on the whole face. Do this quickly and then rub it in with warm water. Then thoroughly wash with warm water and dry the face. It will get rid of a whitehead with no squeezing or scarring. No redness if you follow these directions. It is a miracle drug. Wished they had it 50 years ago when I was a teenager. There is no need to have acne today!!!"

"I have had acne struggles in the past years of my teenage years. My mum used to buy me products for my skin and ended up wasting a lot of her money on products that never worked as my skin just instantly reacted so quickly. But one day she gave me a product called benzoyl peroxide. Damn, I was in love with it as I was so self-conscious about my looks. I also bought myself the benzoyl peroxide soap. "I am 24 and have struggled with acne for about 10 years. More recently, I have started getting large cystic acne at intervals (probably hormone-related), which really impacts my confidence. I used Duac as a teenager but wasn't a massive fan due to the bleaching effect and smell. However, I bought a benzoyl peroxide treatment again to try when my skin is really bad. This helped to quickly reduce the size of the blemishes, but I got a really sore, red rash on my neck even though I was not applying the product here. I have now bought some aloe to treat this and will continue to use the benzoyl peroxide to treat my worst breakouts. Fingers crossed the irritation subsides and the positive effects continue!"

"When I first started using this, it worked like magic, would clear up spots within days, but you'll find just like any other acne treatment, after a while your body just gets used to it and it becomes less effective. I noticed after months of constant use it went from a few days to almost 2 weeks just for slight improvement. It's easy to apply and dries up, so it's not like Sudocrem, where you turn over and your face gets stuck to the pillow. Lol. If you haven't used this before, definitely do, it will take a few days, maybe weeks for it to start working, it just varies person to person. Make the most of it because, sadly, your acne adapts to it and will slowly become useless, but that's for every treatment. Good luck."

"I have been using benzoyl peroxide for two weeks for my acne, so it's probably too early to say, but so far I'm not seeing any results. The first three days or so were fine, but since then I've been breaking out almost constantly. Nothing too severe, though, and it could be just bad timing, but it left me a bit discouraged. I will continue with it, though, at least for a couple more weeks, and hope that it will get better. I started with a new moisturizer at the same time as I started with the benzoyl peroxide, so I guess that could be the cause of the breakouts as well."

"I started using benzoyl peroxide in a gel form (5%) as a local acne treatment. It did wonders for my skin and helped me get clear skin. But I have an important advice for those who use this med. Be careful with your clothes! It can stain your clothes, just like bleach. I’ve lost count of how many clothes I lost because of that! So be extra careful when using it. My advice is to wash your hands after applying and be careful with towels and bed linen!"

"I have been using this 5% face wash along with Retin A Micro for about a month now. I do not notice any difference. Was actually breaking out more. Skin is not as red and peeling as the first two weeks (normal). Dries out my face horribly, but I use CeraVe to moisturize. Seems to work. I use Retin A about three times a week. But I used it two nights in a row recently, and it just put my face back to what feels like the first two weeks. Horrible. :("

"Bought the off-brand from Walgreens, my face has swollen up, and within 12 hours, I have multiple blisters and welts all over. This has lasted at least a month. Worst thing I have ever bought. Had to take Benadryl and put hydrocortisone cream on so I could even sleep. Face was hot to the touch. Had to go to work with a mask on my face because makeup does not cover, and it burns."

"I have been using benzoyl peroxide 5% wash for a little over a month now. Overall, I have definitely seen an improvement since I’ve been using it. I also was prescribed doxycycline (pills) and clindamycin (facial wipes), one pill at night with dinner, wash my face twice and use wipes after when my face is dry. I’ve seen a lot of reviews that haven’t been touching base on certain things. If you're using this wash, cream, or gel, it’s best that you continue to moisturize your face. I strongly recommend you use a daily moisturizer with sunscreen. I’ve been using Olay products, and I stick with just that. I do not wash my face with anything else but what my dermatologist prescribed, and I followed the directions. This product is super good. But if not used correctly, it can also harm your skin."
