For Acne "I'm 22 years old and have some hormonal acne thats often cystic and painful. I went to the dermatologist and she recommended Finacea and doxycycline (for the first two months until Finacea became more effective) I didn't have horrible acne to begin with but it was just annoying huge ones that would spur up from time to time maybe two or three at a time. Once I started Finacea I got little pimples along with cystic ones on my jaw line and chin area (where I had them before) but now I was also getting pimples on my cheeks and forehead. I am wondering if Finacea makes acne worse before it gets better or if anyone else has found a solution for this/had this experience"

Finacea (azelaic acid) for Rosacea "When I found out the my Finacea Foam Rx was going to cost $275 I turned it down. Then I decided to buy a tube and see if it really worked. I was immediately impressed with the product. It not only clears up the burning and redness, but it also makes my skin more smooth and soft. On a Dec 2016 trip to France I asked a pharmacist if there was an equivalent in France. In fact, they had the exact same product in cream form instead of foam. And the price was only 30 Euro, I brought 4 tubes home to last me until my next trip to France. I swear by Finacea!"

Finacea (azelaic acid) for Rosacea "An absolute saviour for me. Rosacea pustules had been increasing in quantity and intensity - terrible. Discovered Finacea Gel - it's an over the counter pharmacy medication in Australia and at only AUS$ 26 worth a try. Not much impact for the first four weeks, in fact possible worse. I persisted. Now 8 weeks in and the results are amazing. Rosacea has really settled down, few pustules, red marks faded, and skin generally much better texture. Very highly recommended - but do be patient and persist!"

Finacea (azelaic acid) for Rosacea "I've had terrible bumps and sores on my face for years and was just diagnosed with rosacea. I was given Finacea and minocycline. I was told to use it 2X a day and after the 2nd day I saw some improvement but my the 6th day my face was started to look burned. By the 10th day the bumps were horrible and my face and neck seemed severely burned. My skins was dry and cracked, swollen in spots and very wrinkly looking. The doctor said to stop it, let it completely heal then start again using it once every 3 days and build back up. It's been two weeks off the cream. My face peeled like it was burned but is getting better. Neck is still bad. Saying all this I'll still try again. Just be very careful if you know you have sensitive skin."

Finacea (azelaic acid) for Rosacea "I just started using the gel today so I cannot comment on its effectiveness yet for clearing up my mild rosacea, it does burn my face quite a bit but I’m sure if I push through that for a week or so it won’t be as bad. I am writing this comment, however, because I see a lot of comments from people that are unhappy about the price of this medication and issues with prescriptions. I agree that the prices are outrageous here in the US. I never went to a dr for a prescription to get the gel, I simply googled “buy finacea” and very easily purchased it from an Australian website called pharmacy online and it was only $33 total with shipping. I hope this helps anyone who cannot afford it or had trouble getting it through their doctor! Will update later on how it has effected my rosacea."

Finacea (azelaic acid) for Acne "In the last I have used Finacea along with Solodyn for my cystic acne. Because my acne is primarily around the jaw line it is considered hormonal. Well the Finacea really really helped with redness and lightening old acne marks. My dermatologist informed me it has a slight bleaching effect and it definitely showed. After a few years being off of it I am back on. Hopefully it has the same effects."

Finacea (azelaic acid) for Acne "Several years ago my husband died unexpectedly, and the shock, grief, and stress caused my skin to react violently. I developed hives, rashes, and cystic acne all over my face, back, and chest. My dermatologist put me on steroids and Minocyclin. Those prescriptions worked to clear up my skin conditions, but whenever I tried to get off the antibiotics, the acne would flare up horribly. Three years later, I am still on Minocyclin. I am trying to wean my system off the antibiotics by skipping a dose once a week, then twice a week, etc. Finacea to the rescue! I have been using Finacea for two weeks, and I noticed a significant improvement in my skin in just the first day. When my skin erupts, the Finacea fights back, reducing inflammation."

Azelex (azelaic acid) for Acne "After struggling with acne, my dermatologist prescribed me Azelex 20%, and advised that I apply it twice a day and to mix it with moisturizer because it tends to dry out skin. After 3 days, it completely ruined my skin. Even after using *so much* moisturizer, it would burn my face and itch. After 2 days I figured I should keep giving it a chance. However on the 3rd day my face was just completely ruined. I woke up and my face was unbelievably DRY. My face formed wrinkles and I looked like an elder. Not to mention, my skin was peeling everywhere. It left dark patches of hyperpigmentation around my mouth, nose, and forehead. I was left with my face in a worse condition than when I started using Azelex. I don't know what to do know, I think it left me with a chemical burn or something of the sort. Now I'm left using homemade remedies to try to salvage all that I can."

Finacea (azelaic acid) for Rosacea "Although in my 70's I suffered from an irritating red and pimply rash mainly around chin and mouth area. Over many years have tried all sorts of remedies but non really worked. Within a couple of days of using finacea I could see a marked improvement. I know only use the cream occasionally If I find the rash returning and it keeps it at bay. Fantastic result and only wish I had discovered it years ago."

For Acne "I've been battling acne for 8 years now. I am now 20. Although the severity of acne that I've experienced over the past 8 years has been very mild leaving no pitted scaring I do have some blemishes and hyper pigmentation on my cheeks, chin and jawline. Initially I was referred to azelaic acid (finacea) along side doxycycline. However, doxcycline triggered acne in places where Ive never had pimples before. Even after 3 months of doxy usage I gave up on it as it was making it worse. Currently, I use the cetaphil clearing wash and then apply finacea evenly to all areas with blemishes before bed. I recommend this product despite it having an initial burning effect when applied. Don't give up on it. I didn't see improvement until 3 months in!"

Finacea (azelaic acid) for Acne "I've been using this with doxycycline for about a month and a half and my skin has cleared up completely with the exception of some minor scarring. I put about a pea sized amount on at night and it goes on smoothly and doesn't leave a film or anything like some other topicals. Such a life saver!"

Finacea (azelaic acid) for Rosacea "I have been using this for 6 months and the change in my skin has been amazing. I had been using doxy which was going okay, but once I stopped responding, the doctor prescribed me this. I wish I would have started with this product. I have moderate rosacea coupled with some cheek acne. This stuff started making s difference about 4 days in. I had people asking me what I had done different and why I looked so good. I only use it in the morning, and I can do this, because it dries SO fast. It doesn't leave a weird film or feeling like lots of prescription creams do. Even so, it helps tighten the skin and has smoothed the appearance of fine lines. The only reason I gave this 9 stars is because it gives you peach fuzz all over your cheeks."

Finacea (azelaic acid) for Rosacea "I've been on numerous topical and oral medications for acne. At one point, Solodyn and Doxycycline have been the only skin savors for me. My derma put me on several different topicals over the course of the last four years i.e. Ziana, Epiduo, Onexton, Retin-A, and Acanya. I've probably tried more but can't remember all of them. The last topical I was on was Epiduo until I found out that I was pregnant. My Dr quickly put me on Finacea since it is safe to use during pregnancy. I have to say, it's been 6 days using it morning and night and is the absolutely best topical I've tried. My skin is under control and past acne scars are fading. Really do love this stuff. Wish I tried it sooner!"

Finacea (azelaic acid) for Acne "45 yrs old and had acne my whole life, tried everything under the sun, including Accutane 11 yrs ago. This medication has done wonders for my skin over the past 8 months. It's truly a great product but it does cost $200 a tube with 15% off! I feel it's worth every penny."

Finacea (azelaic acid) for Acne "I have been using the product for approximately 1 month for my cystic acne. I have yet to notice any improvement in my acne. I do think my face is more smooth and less red, however. My adult cystic acne is very stubborn and related to my menstrual cycle. I hope it will improve with continued use!"

It stings during the first week of use but definitely worth enduring that discomfort, the results are amazing! A tube now last me almost a year as it only takes a tiny bit of cream to maintain clear skin."

Finacea (azelaic acid) for Rosacea "I have tried everything for my roscea, including antibiotics and even accutane, but this product is the only one that truly got rid of my acne. In fact, it seemed like it worked overnight. The seemingly small bottle of foam lasted about 7 months, and my skin stayed clear the whole time. I’m so glad my dermatologist recommended this product after diagnosing me with rosacea. However, I definitely can’t afford to continue buying it, so I’ve switched to cheaper azailic acid products. They don’t work as well, but still keep my skin looking healthy. I recommend trying this if you have rosacea, or sensitive skin in general. The only reason I’m not giving this product a 10/10 is because of its cost."

Finacea (azelaic acid) for Rosacea "I have been using this Finacea 15% gel from about a week, and posting here just because I am totally shocked for the price some of you are forced to pay for this product. I live in Italy and I bought this for 19€ (full price, no discount) and I thought "that's too much for a tube of gel". I feel sorry for you, they are extorting you, they are criminals.... Can't say anything about the gel yet... too soon for me, but I have acne problem on my skin."

Finacea (azelaic acid) for Rosacea "I am writing this as an update from my original post a few months ago when I first started using finacea after buying it online from an Australian pharmacy. Unfortunately I discovered finacea was not for me it actually made my skin so much worse. I’d have to mentally prepare myself every time I put it on because it burned so bad I couldn’t even stand it and my face was horribly red dry flaky and tight all the time. If anything it made my rosacea worse. I finally broke down and went to my dermatologist and he prescribed me antibiotics, soolantra, and rhofade (which I know a lot of people hate) but for me I have had much better results with this regimen. Redness is still there but the rhofade doesn’t burn and definitely reduces the redness and feels very soft and soothing on my skin, no more dryness and flakiness. Finacea just didn’t work for me."
