For Deep Vein Thrombosis "I was diagnosed with a DVT while on vacation in November 2019 and subsequently discovered I have May-Thurner Syndrome. The first month on Eliquis, I felt terrible. Dizzy, fatigue, the doctor said this is the best medicine for me. These side effects did go away, however, I gained some weight and started going to WE and having a difficult time losing weight. Discouraging!"

For Deep Vein Thrombosis "I’m on apixaban as I suffer from May-Thurner Syndrome, which was diagnosed after a DVT. I’ve been on it for 9 months. The main side effect for me is weight gain. I’ve put on a stone in 9 months, which is crazy. Fatigue also. But I’ve rated it if it’s doing the job of no more DVTs. Just wish I could stop it. Probably on it for life."

Apixaban for Pulmonary Embolism "Had chest pain that was diagnosed as a pulmonary embolism. Put on apixaban double dose 2 x 10 daily for the first week. 2 x 5 mg thereafter. Been on it for 6 weeks now. My stomach has been dodgy for years after an ulcer, but Lanzoprazole keeps it calm and under control. Since taking apixaban, my stomach has flared up and regurgitating food, motions gone from solid to purée and liquefied. Had headaches and fatigue. GP putting me onto alternative and suggested Warfarin. Like everything, doesn’t suit everyone, unfortunately."

For Prevention of Thromboembolism in Atrial Fibrillation "I had a heart attack and underwent an emergency double heart bypass. There were complications that left me in an induced coma for 17 days. This was three years ago. I was only 47 years old. I had a defibrillator/pacemaker fitted. Two weeks ago, it activated. I had made a huge effort over the past three months to address my health. I lost 21 kg in weight. I didn't crash diet but more so drank protein shakes and fruit. Then all of a sudden, I kept feeling dizzy. I had lost a lot of energy. Even walking 100 meters was difficult. Then my defibrillator activated. I was taken to the hospital. My defibrillator was adjusted and I was placed on apixaban. Within hours, I felt great."

For Pulmonary Embolism "I am not sure if it is all related, but I have been on Eliquis for 8 weeks after 5 months on Xarelto. I changed because of dizziness, fatigue, muscle cramps, and back pain. The switch got rid of fatigue and dizziness. Cramps are better. Now my hip has severe arthritis, gout, and cysts. I hurt everywhere. Can’t sleep, ache so much just waking up. My doctors are no help. Need to know if anyone has any symptoms."

Apixaban for Pulmonary Embolism "3 months on Eliquis 5 mg 2x a day, fatigue, out of breath, mild chest pain."
Apixaban "Ever since I started taking this medication, I have been in more pain, and I never know from one day to the next what I'm going to feel like. What really scared me this morning was that it was hard to breathe. I get rashes, headaches, nausea, and anxiety. I'm so fatigued all the time and have more pain. I feel better when I first wake up before I start taking medication. I take 5 mg twice a day. I thought about just stopping and not taking anymore as I feel like it's going to be the end of me anyway! I've never been the same since I had my stroke!"
