- Studies have shown that some young mice died from dehydration after taking 1 dose of Trulance (plecanatide). This medicine must not be given to a child younger than 6 years of age. Avoid use of Trulance (plecanatide) in children who are 6 to 18 years of age. Talk with the doctor.

What do I need to tell my doctor BEFORE I take Trulance?
- If you have an allergy to Trulance (plecanatide) or any part of Trulance (plecanatide).
- If you are allergic to any drugs like this one, any other drugs, foods, or other substances. Tell your doctor about the allergy and what signs you had, like rash; hives; itching; shortness of breath; wheezing; cough; swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat; or any other signs.
- If you have bowel block.

How is this medicine (Trulance) best taken?
Use Trulance (plecanatide) as ordered by your doctor. Read all information given to you. Follow all instructions closely.
- Take with or without food.
- Swallow whole with a drink of water.
- If you cannot swallow Trulance (plecanatide) whole, it may be crushed and mixed with applesauce. You may also dissolve it in water. Follow how to mix as you have been told by your doctor.
- After mixing, take your dose right away. Do not store for future use.
- Those who have feeding tubes may use Trulance (plecanatide). Use as you have been told. Flush the feeding tube after Trulance (plecanatide) is given.
What do I do if I miss a dose?
- Skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time.
- Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses.

What are some side effects that I need to call my doctor about right away?

- Store at room temperature.
