Is this normal Lexapro side effects?

I have really bad nausea, spacey feeling, lightheaded/dizziness, increased anxiety, tired/lethargic , slight headaches. I'm on the 4th day of taking 10mg of Lexapro.

I'm on Lexapro 5mg for a week and I'm suppose to go to 10mg after. I take it at night ....

... but I have insomnia and haven't slept well all week. Should I try taking the Lexapro in the morning before going on to 10 mg? I'm afraid side effects might get worse. The nausea is gone but insomnia gets worse.

Was phenobarbital used in the 1960's for anxiety?

My mother told me throughout my life that when I was young she gave me phenobarbital to "make me go to school". I have no memory of being given medication. Was she putting it in my food? Was she lying? I wonder if this was something routinely given to children with school anxiety?

Diazepam - I was just prescribed Valium 5mg twice a day. It seems like the effects wear off fast?
