Official Answer by Drugs.com 17 Aug 2016

Adlyxin (generic name: lixisenatide) is a once-daily injectable type 2 diabetes medication. Adlyxin is given at mealtime and used alongside diet and exercise to improve blood sugar levels.

For maintenance dosing, Adlyxin will be available in a disposable, pre-filled single-dose pen of 20 micrograms (mcg). Patients will also receive a 10 mcg pen that they should use to start treatment, using it once daily for 14 days. On Day 15, patients will increase dosage to 20 mcg once daily.
