Thymol concentrate for footbath

Indications: As an aid in the control of digital dermatitis in cattle.

NOTE: Digital Dermatitis is a complex disease process for which there is no unique approach for prevention or treatment. This product is to be used as part of a whole herd management program which includes topical treatment of active lesions as well as environmental management practices.

Active Ingredient

Directions for Use: Preparation of footbath solution: Prepare a fresh solution daily. Clean the footbath container/tray thoroughly, removing visible dirt and debris. Dilute Thymox HOOF^® at 1:100 in water. For example, add 2 L of Thymox HOOF^® per 200 L of water and mix to obtain a 1% dilution containing 0.23% thymol.

Recommended frequency for changing the footbath solution: Change the solution after 200 heads have walked through the footbath. Thoroughly drain footbath and rinse with water before mixing a new batch of solution. Footbath 2 times per day, 3 days per week for up to 12 weeks. Consult with a veterinarian to modify this frequency.

Storage

Store in original container between -5°C and 30 °C. Keep the container tightly closed when not in use. If product freezes, bring to room temperature and stir until homogeneous before use.

Warnings

The concentrate is irritating. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. In case of contact with eyes or skin, flush thoroughly with water and seek medical attention if necessary. Users with sensitive skin should take additional precaution. Do not swallow. If accidentally swallowed, contact a poison control centre. No meat withdrawal or milk withholding time is required when treated according to the label. Keep out of reach of children.

Cautions: Safety of the product has not been evaluated for long-term use.
