PRECAUTIONARY STATEMENTS

HAZARDS TO HUMANS AND DOMESTIC ANIMALS: - CAUTION

Causes moderate eye irritation. Avoid contact with eyes or clothing. Prolonged or frequently repeated skin contact may cause allergic reactions in some individuals. Wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling and before eating, drinking, chewing gum, using tobacco or using the toilet. Wear a long sleeve shirt, long pants, socks and shoes.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Applicators and other handlers must wear:

● Long sleeve shirt and long pants.

● Shoes plus socks.

User Safety Requirements

Follow manufacturer’s instructions for cleaning/maintaining PPE. If no such instructions for washables are available, use detergent and hot water. Keep and wash PPE separately from other laundry.

User Safety Recommendations

Users Should:

Wash hands before eating, drinking, chewing gum, using tobacco or using the toilet.

PHYSICAL OR CHEMICAL HAZARDS

Do not mix or allow coming into contact with oxidizing agent. Hazardous Chemical reaction may occur.

ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDS

This pesticide is toxic to fish and aquatic invertebrates. Do not apply directly to water, to areas where surface water is present or to intertidal areas below the mean high water mark. Do not contaminate water when disposing of equipment rinsewater or rinsate. Do not apply where/ when conditions could favor runoff. Runoff from treated areas may be hazardous to aquatic organisms in neighboring areas.

Do not apply to any impervious surfaces that may contact or lead directly to surface water, storm drains, or urban runoff conveyance systems (gutters). Sweeping any product that lands on an impervious surface back onto pervious surfaces will prevent runoff to water bodies or drainage systems. Cover, incorporate, or clean up granules that are spilled.

Directions For Use

It is a violation of Federal Law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling.

Product Information

DuraStrike™ contains the active ingredient indoxacarb in a ready-to-use granular bait formulation:

● Controls house, and fruit flies in and around residential, commercial, institutional and agricultural structures;

● Kills blow flies indoors;

● Provides an alternative mode of action for insecticide resistance management

● Can be an important tool in an integrated pest management program.

Resistance Management

INDOXACARB GROUP 22 INSECTICIDE

For resistance management, DuraStrike™ contains a Group 22 insecticide. Any insect population may contain individuals naturally resistant to DuraStrike™ and other Group 22A insecticides. The resistant individuals may dominate the insect population if this group of insecticides are used repeatedly in the same treated areas. Appropriate resistance-management strategies should be followed.

To delay insecticide resistance, take the following steps:

● Apply DuraStrike™ according to the label-use directions;

● Rotate the use of DuraStrike™ or other Group 22A insecticides with different groups that control the same pests.

● Avoid treatment of successive fly generations with DuraStrike™.

● Adopt an integrated pest management program for insecticide use that includes scouting, uses historical information related to pesticide use, record keeping, and which considers cultural, biological, and other chemical control practices.

● Monitor after application for unexpected target pest survival. If the level of survival suggests the presence of resistance, consult with your local university specialist or certified pest control advisor.

Contact your local Central Garden & Pet representative, retailer, or extension specialist for any additional pesticide resistance-management and/or IPM recommendations for the specific site and pest problems in your area. Application Use Sites

DuraStrike™ may be applied to:

● waste-storage areas around commercial establishments, such as restaurants, taverns, hotels, grocery stores, supermarkets, bakeries, warehouses, and sports complexes;

● commercial operations, such as canneries; beverage-processing plants; dairy-, meat-, and poultry-processing plants; fruit- and vegetable-processing plants; seafood-processing plants; tanneries; rendering plants; grease-collection stations; kennels; schools; recycling plants; and military installations; or refuse dumpsters associated with these establishments.

● agricultural-production facilities, such as feedlots, dairies, poultry/broiler houses, swine production structures, livestock-housing structures, and horse stables.

Food- And Feed-Handling Establishments

(Food- and feed-handling establishments are places other than private residences in which food and feed are held, processed, prepared or served.)

● For indoor areas of residential, institutional, public, agricultural buildings/structures, or food- and feed-handling establishments, DuraStrike™ must be placed in bait stations suitable for granular fly control baits or applied as a water-diluted bait (paint-on). Indoor use as a scatter bait is permitted only on walkways within animal-production facilities.

● DO NOT apply to areas or surfaces where food, feed, food utensils or food-processing surfaces may come into contact and become contaminated.

Applications In Non-Food And Non-Feed Areas

DuraStrike™ is approved for use to control house and fruit flies in residential structures and the non-food and non-feed areas of commercial, industrial, public, agricultural and institutional buildings/structures, including restaurants, warehouses, food- and feed-processing plants, supermarkets, hospitals, nursing homes, motels, hotels, schools, daycares, laboratories, computer facilities, aircraft, buses, boats/ships, trains, pet shops and zoos. DuraStrike™ will also kill blow flies in these same indoor use sites when used as directed.

Non-food and non-feed areas of food- and feed-handling establishments include areas such as garbage rooms, lavatories, floor drains (to sewers), entries, and vestibules, offices, locker rooms, machine rooms, boiler rooms, garages, mop closets and storage (after bottling or canning).

Refer to section below for use directions and restrictions when making applications in food/ feed handling areas of Food- and Feed-Handling Establishments.

Applications In Food- And Feed-Handling Areas

Application of granules to food/feed areas of food- and feed-handling establishments may only be made using bait stations suitable for use with granular fly control baits.

Applications of water-diluted bait may be made using the directions provided below.

Food- and feed-handling areas include areas for receiving, storage, packing (canning, bottling, wrapping, boxing), preparing edible waste storage, and enclosed processing systems (mills, dairies, edible oils, syrups). Serving areas are also considered a food and feed area when food is exposed and facility is in operation.

USE RESTRICTIONS

● DO NOT apply as a scatter bait indoors in residential structures, commercial establishments, food- and feed-handling establishments, food-processing plants, and restaurants. Bait stations must be used when applying DuraStrike™ inside these buildings/structures, excluding use on walkways within animal-production facilities.

● DO NOT apply as a scatter bait in areas accessible to children, pets or livestock. When bait stations are used, DO NOT place within reach of children, pets or livestock.

● DO NOT use diluted product applications (Paint-On) for indoor residential sites, excluding areas not inhabited by or accessible to children and pets (such as attics, crawlspaces, and garages).

● DO NOT apply to impervious surfaces, such as driveways and sidewalks.

● DO NOT apply more than 2 lb of product per 1,000 sq ft per calendar year (equivalent to 0.01 lb active ingredient per 1,000 sq ft per calendar year or 0.44 lb active ingredient per acre per calendar year).

PEST CONTROL USE DIRECTIONS

¹ To kill blow flies use the rate of 6.4 oz per 1,000 sq ft.

Application as a Dry Granular Bait

Scatter Baiting

Apply DuraStrike™ evenly to the target areas using suitable granular spreader equipment or directly from the container. Apply product around structures in a band extending up to 7 ft out from trash receptacles and structures, including homes, commercial and institutional facilities, and agricultural buildings. Apply only to pervious surfaces, such as soil, mulch or loose stone.

Avoid placing the fly bait granules in piles and spread bait as evenly as possible over surfaces.

This product can only be used in areas protected from rain. If scatter baiting applications cannot be protected from rainfall, then DuraStrike™ must be applied in bait stations.

Use 0.1 to 0.4 lb (1.6 to 6.4 oz) of DuraStrike™ per 1,000 sq ft.

● Apply 3.2 oz of DuraStrike™ per 1,000 sq ft when fly populations are low to moderate.

● Apply up to 6.4 oz of bait per 1,000 sq ft if fly populations are high.

● Apply 1.6 oz of bait per 1,000 sq ft for maintenance of fly populations.

● To kill blow flies indoors, use a rate of 6.4 oz per 1,000 sq ft.

Reapply bait every 7 days until fly populations are reduced to acceptable levels.

Use In Bait Stations

Use bait stations that are suitable for granular baits. Use 3.2-6.4 oz per 1,000 sq ft of DuraStrike™ per 1,000 sq ft in stations placed in the treatment area.

Replenish bait stations at 7-day intervals until fly populations are reduced to acceptable levels.

Application of Water-Diluted DuraStrike™

Preparation of Water-Diluted Bait

DuraStrike™ may be applied by diluting in warm water at ratios ranging from 1.0-1.5 oz DuraStrike™ per 1 fl oz water (30-40 grams bait in 30 ml water). Mix in a non-food use container and stir until bait has dissolved. Let mixture stand until a consistency is achieved for use as slurry-applied treatment.

Paint-On Application of Water-Diluted Bait

Prepare water-diluted DuraStrike™ as described in Preparation of Water-Diluted Bait section.

Apply as a spot treatment of 6-12 inch wide bands to surfaces where flies are likely to rest using a paint brush, roller or other applicator suited to spreading water-diluted bait onto a surface. Rinse applicator thoroughly after using. Reapply diluted bait as needed, but not more frequently than 7 days. Avoid surfaces that tend to get dusty.

DO NOT paint surfaces within the reach of children, pets or livestock. Water-diluted DuraStrike™ may also be applied to cards or other surfaces that can be hung from ceiling supports or other means to provide a treated surface for flies to land. Treated cards or surfaces may be disposed of when no longer attractive to flies or become dirty, and may be replaced with freshly treated cards every 7 days.

DO NOT hang cards within the reach of children, pets or livestock.

STORAGE AND DISPOSAL

Do not contaminate water, food, or feed by storage and disposal.

Pesticide Storage: Do not subject to temperatures below 32 degrees F. Store product in original container only in a location inaccessible to children and pets. Do not contaminate water, other pesticides, fertilizer, food or feed in storage. Not for use or storage in or around the home.

Pesticide Disposal: Do not contaminate water, food or feed by storage or disposal. Wastes resulting from the use of this product must be disposed of on site or at an approved waste disposal facility.

Container Handling: Non-refillable container. Do not reuse or refill this container. Triple rinse container (or equivalent) promptly after emptying. Triple rinse as follows: Empty the remaining contents into application equipment or a mix tank. Fill the container full with water and recap. Shake for 10 seconds. Pour rinsate into application equipment or a mix tank or store rinsate for later use or disposal. Drain for 10 seconds after the flow begins to drip. Repeat this procedure two more times. Then offer for recycling if available or puncture and dispose of in a sanitary landfill or by other procedures approved by state and local authorities.
