IMPORTANT NOTE FOR COLOSTRUM FEEDING:
Colostrum is the first milk from the cow following birth, providing nutrients that are essential to the calf’s health and growth. Newborns should receive colostrum in the first day of life, before feeding milk replacer. Feed large breed calves 4 quarts of clean, high quality colostrum as soon as possible after birth, preferably within the first 2 hours, and again 12 hours later. Begin feeding a premium quality milk replacer on day 2 and transition to this milk replacer at 3 weeks of age. Adjust feeding rates for small breed calves.
If maternal colostrum is not available use a powdered, high quality colostrum replacer. If maternal colostrum is in short supply, use a powdered colostrum supplement and mix into colostrum according to label directions. For calves that develop scours (diarrhea) or need support during hot weather or other times of stress, feed an electrolyte supplement between milk feedings.

Feed 2.3 quarts (fill 2 quart bottle to the rim) of milk replacer solution twice daily per calf. Adjust feeding rates for small breed calves.
GENERAL MANAGEMENT RECOMMENDATIONS
1. Feed colostrum within 2 hours of birth and again 12 hours later. Begin feeding a premium quality milk replacer on day 2 and transition to this milk replacer at 3 weeks of age.
2. Begin feeding calf starter free-choice in the first week. Feed a small amount at first and replace daily.
3. Provide fresh, clean water at all times.
4. Keep electrolytes on hand to help with rehydration.
5. Healthy calves can be weaned from milk replacer successfully when intake of calf starter reaches 2 pounds daily for 3 consecutive days.
6. Environmental conditions may alter feeding rate. See your nutritionist or veterinarian for details.
7. Begin feeding hay after weaning.
The benefits of a comprehensive calf care program can result in more productive and profitable livestock.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE AS A DRY POWDER SUPPLEMENT
This milk replacer is not intended as a sole source of nutrients for pigs or goat kids. Use as a dry supplement only. Top-dress or mix the milk replacer powder into a dry feed to provide supplemental nutrients and encourage dry feed consumption during the weaning period.
CALF |
Mix 4 ounces (1 scoop) of milk replacer powder into 1 pound of dry starter feed to encourage starter intake prior to weaning. |
PIG |
Mix or top-dress 4 ounces (1 scoop) of milk replacer powder into 1 pound of creep feed, continuing until weaning. |
GOAT KID |
Mix or top-dress 2 ounces (1/2 scoop) into 1 pound of dry starter feed, continuing until weaning. |
Every animal is an individual. The amount fed may need to be adjusted to support optimal body condition and growth. Animals may need an additional feeding of non-medicated milk replacer or energy supplement during cold weather. Consult your veterinarian or animal nutritionist if you have questions.
