A sterile aqueous suspension of Penicillin G Procaine for the treatment of livestock and poultry diseases caused by organisms sensitive to penicillin.

Procaine Penicillin G Indications

Procaine Penicillin G is indicated for the parenteral treatment of infections caused by organisms susceptible to penicillin.

Cattle & Calves: For the treatment of shipping fever syndrome, wound infections, navel infections, foot rot, bacterial infections associated with pneumonia, as well as for bronchitis and tracheitis when caused by or associated with penicillin susceptible organisms.

Swine: For the treatment of mastitis, wound infections, bacterial infections associated with pneumonia, as well as for bronchitis and tracheitis when caused by or associated with penicillin susceptible organisms.

Horses: For the treatment of shipping fever syndrome, strangles, bacterial infections associated with pneumonia, as well as for bronchitis and tracheitis when caused by or associated with penicillin susceptible organisms.

Dogs, Cats, Rabbits, Mink, & Foxes: For the treatment of otitis externa, bacterial infections associated with pneumonia, as well as for bronchitis and tracheitis when caused by or associated with penicillin susceptible organisms.

Administration

Inject deep into the muscle every 24 hours. Continue treatment for 1-2 days after symptoms disappear. If no improvement is noted within 36-48 hours re-evaluate the diagnosis. Mild soreness may result following subcutaneous administration. This suspension should never be administered intravenously.

Dosage

Give 6,000 i.u. per Kg of body weight (1 mL/50 Kg). Increase the dose to 12,000 i.u. - 18,000 i.u. per Kg for serious infection (2-3 mL/50 Kg).

Warnings

Treated animals must not be slaughtered for use in food for at least 5 days after the latest treatment with this drug. Milk taken from treated animals during treatment and within 72 hours after the latest treatment with this drug must not be used as food. Penicillins can cause allergic reactions in sensitized individuals. In case of anaphylactic or allergic reaction, administer Epinephrine 1:1000 immediately. Keep out of reach of children.

Contents: Each mL contains Penicillin G Procaine 300,000 i.u. with 0.25 w/v Sodium Formaldehyde Sulpa oxylate as a preservative.

Store below 15°C.
