ParaSail Indications

This product has been shown to be effective for the vaccination of healthy swine 3 weeks of age or older against Glasser’s Disease caused by Glaesserella parasuis. The duration of immunity has not been determined. For more information regarding efficacy and safety data go to productdata.aphis.usda.gov.

Directions and dosage

Rehydrate only with the diluent provided; do not mix with other products, except as specified in the package insert.

50 dose and 100 dose presentations: Rehydrate the vaccine by adding the full contents of the accompanying diluent to the vaccine vial. Shake well and use immediately.

250 dose presentation: Rehydrate the vaccine by adding a portion of the contents of the accompanying diluent to the vaccine vial. Shake well and transfer the reconstituted suspension back into the diluent bottle. Mix with the remaining diluent to a total volume of 250 mL. Shake well and use immediately.

Inject a single 1 mL dose intramuscularly.

The need for annual booster vaccinations has not been established for this product; consultation with a veterinarian is recommended.

Precautions

Store at 35-46°F (2-8°C). Do not freeze. Use entire contents when first opened. Do not treat animals with antimicrobials effective against Glaesserella spp. for a period from 72 hours before until 24 hours after administration of this vaccine. Do not vaccinate within 21 days before slaughter. Do not mix with other products, except as specified on the label. Transient reaction may occur at injection site. In case of anaphylactoid reaction, administer epinephrine. This product has not been tested in pregnant animals. In case of human exposure, contact a physician. Inactivate unused contents before disposal.
