Leptospira Pomona Bacterin

This product has been shown to be effective for the vaccination of healthy horses 6 months of age or older against Leptospira interrogans serovar pomona. Duration of immunity has not been established. For more information regarding efficacy and safety data, go to productdata.aphis.usda.gov.

Lepto EQ Innovator contains inactivated whole cultures of L. pomona with MetaStim adjuvant to enhance the immune response.

Dosage and Administration

Horses, inject one 1-mL dose intramuscularly using aseptic technique. Administer a second 1-mL dose 3-4 weeks after the first dose. Historically, annual revaccination with this product was recommended. The need for annual booster vaccinations has not been established for this product; consultation with a veterinarian or the manufacturer is recommended.

Lepto EQ Innovator Caution

Shake well. Use entire contents when first opened. Contains thimerosal as preservative. In case of anaphylactoid reaction, administer epinephrine. Do not mix with other products. In case of human exposure, contact a physician.

Store in the dark at 2°-8°C. Avoid freezing. Do not vaccinate within 21 days before slaughter.
