Within the specified use location, to enhance effectiveness of this product, apply directly to the listed pests where possible. For all labelled uses, treatment must only be repeated after 7 days if pest problem persists or reoccurs. Good sanitary practices should be maintained to prevent re-infestation.

Use Limitations

DO NOT apply when people or pets are present. Additionally for space applications, DO NOT apply when livestock (with exception of poultry) are present.

DO NOT apply when a food/feed processing facility, milking parlour or milk house is in operation.

DO NOT apply to surfaces that may come into contact with food/feed. Cover or remove all food/feed (including bulk tanks that contain milk). Cover or remove all milking equipment and thoroughly wash before use. Cover all food/feed processing surfaces, equipment and utensils or thoroughly wash them following treatment. Any food/feed (including milk) accidentally contaminated with spray solution must be discarded.

DO NOT apply to overhead areas or in confined spaces without appropriate respiratory and eye protection.

● Ventilate treated areas after application either by opening windows and doors or using fans, where required, to aid in the circulation of air. Air exchange/ventilation systems confirmed to be operational may also be used.

● When applied as a space treatment: DO NOT remain in treated areas after application. DO NOT allow people, pets or livestock to enter treated areas until 2 hours after application. The commercial applicator is responsible for informing workers and others of this requirement.

● When applied as a surface treatment: DO NOT allow spray to drip or allow drift onto non-target surfaces. DO NOT allow people or pets to enter treated areas until sprays have dried.

How to Apply

Apply as a space spray, crack and crevice, perimeter, spot, broadcast* or furniture (pet bedding only) treatment. *BROADCAST TREATMENTS ARE PERMITTED IN POULTRY HOUSES ONLY. Space application is a suspension of fine droplets in the air within an indoor space. Crack and crevice is an application directly into narrow openings on the surface of the structure. It does not include the treatment of exposed surfaces. Narrow openings typically occur at expansion joints, utility entry points and along baseboards and mouldings. Perimeter application is less than 0.3 m wide along the edges of a room to baseboards, wall-floor and ceiling-wall joints, and around doorways or windows. Spot application is localized to a surface area not more than 0.2 m2. Spots are not to be adjoining and the combined area of spots is not to exceed 10% of the total surface area of a room. Broadcast application is to broad expanses of indoor structural surfaces such as walls, floors, ceilings and indoor foundation walls/crawlspaces. Furniture treatment: broadcast application covers large areas of the entire surface of items; and spot application is up to 10% of the surface of the item.

SPACE APPLICATION: To kill and repel stable flies, horse flies, face flies, deer flies, house flies, horn flies, mosquitoes, biting midges and wasps at milking parlours, milk houses, dairy barns, beef barns, horse barns, piggeries, poultry houses and livestock shelter sheds. Before using as a space spray in structures with livestock, remove all livestock, with exception of poultry, from area to be treated. Close all windows and doors and shut off all ventilating systems and sources of ignition before treatment. While holding the can at arm’s length, direct the spray upwards to all parts of the room, especially ceiling, upper corner of the room, windows and other light sources, and not directly towards poultry. Begin application at far side of the room and work backwards toward exit. DO NOT exceed 10 seconds per 30 m3. Vacate the treated area and keep windows and doors closed for 15 minutes before ventilating. For ventilation and re-entry requirements, see “Use Limitations” (above). After re-entry interval is passed, clean up dead insects. Spray only when temperature is under 32°C.

SURFACE APPLICATION

FOR INDOOR SURFACE APPLICATIONS: DO NOT exceed 5.5 seconds per 2 m2.

To kill and repel cockroaches, ants, spiders, silverfish, crickets, centipedes, carpet beetles: Thoroughly treat indoor structural surfaces, including cracks and crevices in walls, floors and ceilings; along and behind baseboards; wall behind and floors beneath appliances (e.g., refrigerators and stoves) and furniture (e.g., cabinets and storage units); around sinks, drains and pipes; localized areas around garbage cans; and other structural elements where listed insects hide. For ants, also spray trails, nests and points of entry (e.g., around windows and doors).

To kill fleas: DO NOT apply to furniture (with the exception of pet bedding), mattresses, linens, toys or clothing. Apply to indoor structural surfaces, including cracks and crevices in walls and floors; along and behind baseboards, window and door frames; and localized area of floors and floor coverings. Pet bedding may be entirely treated with this product or replaced with clean, fresh bedding after other listed areas are treated. DO NOT SPRAY PETS WITH THIS PRODUCT. Only treat pets with products specifically registered for use on that type of pet. For effective flea control indoors, clean any area used by the pet. Cleaning the areas includes vacuuming floors, carpets, furniture, etc. (discard vacuum bag after use) and washing the pet’s bedding, living quarters, and surrounding area.

For use in poultry houses and on poultry

To kill poultry lice and darkling beetles: Thoroughly spray roosts, walls and nests or cages. DO NOT exceed 5.5 seconds per 2 m2. This should be followed by spraying over the birds with a fine mist. DO NOT exceed 1 second per 2 m3.

To kill bed bugs and mites: Thoroughly spray crevices of roost poles, cracks in walls and cracks in nests where the bedbugs and mites hide. DO NOT exceed 5.5 seconds per 2 m2. This should be followed by spraying over the birds with a fine mist. DO NOT exceed 1 second per 2 m3.

FOR USE ON BEEF AND DAIRY CATTLE (LACTATING OR NON-LACTATING), HORSES, HOGS, SHEEP AND GOATS.

To treat listed livestock against stable flies, horse flies, face flies, deer flies, house flies, horn flies, mosquitoes and biting midges: Apply a light, uniform spray at the rate of 6 to 8 seconds per animal, taking care to treat back, withers and forelegs. Thoroughly coat the hair of the animal - DO NOT wet skin. DO NOT apply as a spray to the face of the animal. To treat the face, moisten (not to the point of dripping) a clean, soft cloth with product and thoroughly rub the moistened cloth on the face of the animal, being certain to avoid contact with the eyes/eyelids and mucous membranes. DO NOT apply more than once per day during peak fly season. DO NOT apply more than once a week during non-peak fly season. Treatment must only be repeated if pest problem persists or reoccurs.

RESISTANCE MANAGEMENT RECOMMENDATIONS

For resistance management, Disvap Gold contains a Group 3 insecticide. Any insect population may contain individuals naturally resistant to Disvap Gold and other Group 3 insecticides. The resistant individuals may dominate the insect population if this group of insecticides is used repeatedly in the same locations. Other resistance mechanisms that are not linked to site of action but are specific for individual chemicals, such as enhanced metabolism, may also exist. Appropriate resistance-management strategies should be followed. To delay insecticide resistance:

● Where possible, rotate the use of Disvap Gold or other Group 3 insecticides with different groups that control the same pests in the location to be treated.

● Insecticide use should be based on an IPM program that includes scouting and record keeping, and considers cultural, biological and other chemical control practices.

● Monitor treated pest populations for resistance development.

● Contact your local extension specialist or certified crop advisors for any additional pesticide resistance-management and/or IPM recommendations for the specific site and pest problems in your area.

● For further information or to report suspected resistance contact Vetoquinol Customer Service at 1-800-363-1700 or at www.vetoquinol.ca.
