Anthralin has been shown to cause tumors in animals. However, there have been no reports of anthralin causing tumors in humans.
In addition to its needed effects, some unwanted effects may be caused by anthralin topical (the active ingredient contained in Dritho-Scalp). In the event that any of these side effects do occur, they may require medical attention.
