Omaveloxolone may reduce the blood levels of dapsone, which may make the medication less effective in some cases. Contact your doctor if your symptoms worsen or your condition changes. Omaveloxolone should be taken on an empty stomach, at least one hour before eating. Do not consume grapefruit, grapefruit juice, or any supplements that contain grapefruit extract during treatment with omaveloxolone unless directed otherwise by your doctor. Grapefruit juice may increase the blood levels of omaveloxolone. This may increase the risk of side effects such as changes in the amount of cholesterol in the blood and changes in liver and heart function tests. Talk to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
