Colesevelam may interfere with the absorption of elafibranor, which could reduce its levels in the blood and make the medication less effective. Therefore, it is recommended that you take elafibranor at least 4 hours before, or 4 hours after colesevelam to minimize the risk of interaction. If this is not possible, space the time between elafibranor and colesevelam as far apart as you are able. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have questions on how to take these or other medications you are prescribed. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
